Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 3937: In Trouble

At that moment, Jian Chen felt like he had completely lost control of his body. As a matter of fact, he could no longer sense the existence of his body.

WIth his strength as a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, even a regular strike from the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy possessed devastating might. Let alone an Immortal Emperor, it was a lethal strike even to some early Immortal Exalts.

On top of that, he was using a secret technique of extremely startling power. It was so terrifying that it destroyed Jian Chen’s Chaotic Body virtually instantly.

But in the next moment, the destruction of Jian Chen’s body stopped. The power of the Source of Life circulated through him silently, nourishing every inch of his flesh. Wherever that regenerative power filled with life force reached, Jian Chen’s injuries were repaired at a rate that could only be described as frightening.

His broken ribs were mended once more, his crushed flesh regenerated, and his veins all regrew.

This was a clash between the laws of the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy and the laws of the Source of Life. One destroyed as the other repaired.

The result was very obvious. From this clash, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy did not have the upper hand. The injuries he dealt to Jian Chen immediately healed.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy narrowed his eyes slightly. There was a hint of disbelief.

That was because the recovery rate that Jian Chen demonstrated right now was several times greater than when he was surrounded by the several dozen Immortal Exalts.

Wasn’t that healing power close to running out?

Why did it seem to grow stronger instead?

“Don’t tell me this recovery power is actually endless? Impossible, there are no powers that are endless.” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy made up his mind. Without any hesitation, he struck out again, also attacking with the laws. He used another secret technique of startling power on Jian Chen. The terrifying force pierced the Divine Armour of Heavenflight and destroyed Jian Chen’s body.

Immediately, Jian Chen’s body was heavily injured once again, ravaged by the laws of the Seventh Heavenly Layer. Soon after, the Source of Life repaired it again.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy stared at Jian Chen in interest as if he was trying to see through the Divine Armour of Heavenflight and peer into all of the secrets inside Jian Chen’s body.

“I see now…” Suddenly, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy noticed something. His lips curled into a faint smile, hiding tremendous joy that he struggled to keep repressed.

He did not manage to see through Jian Chen completely, but from their proximity, he could vaguely sense the level of the life force that healed Jian Chen.

“I didn’t expect the sovereign god artifact on you to be a healing treasure!” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy was in a fantastic mood. He truly felt that this was all worth it. If he used a treasure like this, it would bring him unimaginable benefits.

Perhaps it would not increase his battle prowess, but if he were unkillable, there was no need for him to feel fear even if he faced an Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. He could even forcefully tire them to death.

Let alone the Eighth Heavenly Layer, even if it were the Ninth, what was there to fear?

“I have to obtain this treasure no matter what.” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s gaze immediately became extremely determined. The speed of his strikes suddenly became abnormally fierce. The laws of a late Immortal Exalt condensed again and again, striking Jian Chen with devastating power.

In the very beginning, he still held back, afraid of letting the presence of his laws leak out in case it was sensed by the Immortal Exalts who caught up from behind.

His objective was to take the sovereign god artifact silently, without letting anyone sense him.

However, after discovering the power of the Source of Life, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy struggled to keep his original calmness. At this moment, even his heart that could be perturbed by very little things began to thump wildly. He no longer cared about hiding the shockwaves he created when he struck out.

“As long as I can injure you faster than you can heal yourself, then I’ll be able to truly kill you.” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s gaze towards Jian Chen gradually began to burn with desire. He was a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. The damage from each of his attacks could not be compared to those early Immortal Exalts. Often, it would require a tremendous amount of life energy to heal. He refused to believe that Jian Chen could last like this forever.

A few seconds later, the Immortal Exalts were about to catch up from behind them. The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy extended a hand. A tremendous power pinned Jian Chen down firmly. Afterwards, he wiped the space gently with one hand. As the laws swept over softly, he erased all of the traces and presences left behind.

“I can’t make it flawless because I’m in a rush, but it won’t be that easy to discover for those below the Fifth Heavenly Layer,” the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy said steadily before grabbing Jian Chen by the shoulder and vanishing into the distance.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy was also restrained by the formations in the Skyscraping World. However, as a peak Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, the influence on him was not as great as it was on early and mid Immortal Exalts.

He moved extremely quickly, appearing several thousand kilometres away with just a single step. After a few steps, he moved Jian Chen to a place several tens of thousand kilometres away, shaking off the Immortal Exalts who pursued him from behind.

After stopping, he used the laws to deliver terrifying attacks against Jian Chen again.

At the same time, he began to form seals with his other hand before using a profound secret technique and suddenly pressing it near Jian Chen’s heart.

Boom! Jian Chen’s heart that had only just healed immediately exploded. The dense life force inside seemed to be sucked away. It actually left Jian Chen’s body, passing through the Divine Armour of Heavenflight and gathering at the tip of the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s finger.

This was the power of the Source of Life. It was at an extremely high level. When the dense presence of life radiated out, the barren land in the surroundings was quickly covered in a carpet of green. Swatches of plants began to grow furiously, turning into an oasis of green in the blink of an eye.

Looking at the ball of green energy that gathered at the tip of his finger, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy smiled in satisfaction. Immediately, he merged this power with the Soul Guarding Ancestor’s body without any hesitation.

The Soul Guarding Ancestor’s body was not in perfect shape. Both the Divine Formation of the Heavens earlier and sacrificing his soul to summon the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy had resulted in injuries of varying degrees to his body.

At this moment, when the ball of energy merged with his body, the Soul Guarding Ancestor’s body seemed to gain a new lease on life. It rapidly regenerated at a rate that even amazed the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy.

“Wondrous, how wondrous. This is truly too wondrous.” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy could not help but laugh aloud. He looked at the seed of ways in Jian Chen’s hand and said, “With this item around, I won’t be able to hide away properly. I better leave it to the people behind.”

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy directly struck Jian Chen’s shoulder with his palm. The powerful laws obliterated Jian Chen’s entire arm. Afterwards, before the arm could heal, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy swung him around violently. The seed of ways immediately fell out of Jian Chen’s hand.

“Without the seed of ways, I can focus on dealing with you,” the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy smiled. He grabbed Jian Chen and immediately vanished.

Before long, the several dozen Immortal Exalts made their way over by following the presence given off by the seed of ways. When they discovered the seed of ways hovering in the air, their faces all changed drastically.

“Oh no, he’s abandoned the seed of ways and fled…”

“Dammit, the situation we were most worried about still happened in the end. Once Yang Yutian gives up on the seed of ways and hides himself, finding him will be far too difficult…”
