Chapter 1443: Chapter 1443: The Adventure in the Mountain Crevice

Carson Flores fled a thousand miles away and, seeing that the people from the Winter Thunder Sect didn’t catch up, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The Pursuit Light Boots combined with the Ground Shrinking Technique—this speed was indeed unparalleled.

Those two old geezers were both Early Stage Earth Immortals, yet they couldn’t catch up with him. It seemed that the Ground Shrinking Technique, even in the Immortal Realm, was still quite the treasure.

Carson imprinted a Death Imprint on himself, concealing his vital energy, then found a secluded fissure in a valley and sat down within it.

He needed to heal.

The combined assault of two Earth Immortals going all out—though Carson managed to escape easily—had left him seriously injured. After all, Earth Immortal strength crushed that of Human Immortal by a significant margin.

Under normal circumstances, an Early Stage Earth Immortal could kill a Late Human Immortal with just one strike.

Yes, the disparity was that vast!

For Carson to break free from the combined assault of two Earth Immortals and walk away unscathed—it was a feat that would shock and astonish anyone who heard.

Carson didn’t feel he had suffered a loss. Since he’d already accounted for numerous scenarios when preparing to cultivate the Nine Dragons Immortal Lotus, this result was, in fact, quite favorable.

He was injured, yes, but he obtained the Nine Dragons Immortal Lotus—that was a victory.

As for his feud with the Winter Thunder Sect, Carson didn’t care.

They were nothing more than the lackeys of the Infinite Sword Sect—he had already struck them. As long as he didn’t let them catch him and kill him outright, there was nothing to fear. Even if they dared, they wouldn’t risk stirring trouble at the White Crane Immortal Sect.

Not long after he sat down, a loud cry suddenly echoed across the Nine Heavens.

The sound was resounding and domineering, carrying a chilling air of supreme terror.

A demonic beast?

Carson remained still—let the skies outside flip upside-down for all he cared—he was nestled here to heal, and he wasn’t going anywhere until his injuries were fully recovered.

Just as Carson prepared to close his eyes again, he suddenly sensed someone swiftly approaching.

Hmm?

Before Carson could react, a figure appeared at the fissure entrance, sweeping in like the wind. Before even landing, several slender Array Flags flew out, embedding themselves at the entrance, the rear, and the upper sections of the fissure.

The Formation embedded within the Array Flags activated, sealing off the entire fissure.

Carson still didn’t move.

He immediately discerned that these Array Flags merely concealed vital energy. Considering the resounding bird cry that had echoed from outside, he roughly deduced the truth of the situation.

This individual who darted into the mountain fissure and concealed her presence was likely being pursued by the demonic beast outside, wasn’t she?

But you sure know how to pick a hiding spot, don’t you? I randomly chose this airtight place to heal, and you managed to barge right in?

Carson remained seated cross-legged deep within the fissure, nested in its darkest corner. The Death Imprint masked his life force, making him as imperceptible as an inanimate rock.

The intruder was an alluringly radiant young woman with striking phoenix-shaped eyes, which gave her a regal and commanding presence. She also had an intoxicating pair of long legs that no man could forget.

All legs below the chest!

The woman was beautiful, but haggard.

Her Magic Robe was tattered to shreds, barely covering her shapely figure, leaving large patches of fair skin exposed. Blood streaked across her body, evidence of grave injuries.

After setting up the Array Flags, the woman heaved a sigh of relief and lowered her head to inspect her wounds.

The sight made her frown deeply.

She tore off her shredded Magic Robe, followed by her inner garment beneath.

She had to treat her wounds—and there was no way to do that properly with clothing on.

After all, there was no one else around.

The woman had no idea that someone was indeed present—and that someone was a man, who was now ”watching” her.

Seeing the woman hadn’t discovered him, Carson hesitated about whether to greet her, but to his shock, she started removing her clothes directly.

Carson remained silent.

Since she hadn’t noticed him earlier and was entirely focused on what was happening outside, it was better to wait until she handled her wounds and left once the demonic beast departed.

It would be best to avoid creating unnecessary complications.

Though he hadn’t meant to watch, given the situation now, how could he convince her that he hadn’t seen anything? She surely wouldn’t believe him, and who knew what she might do—perhaps even attack him outright.

Carson wasn’t sure about the strength of the demonic beast outside, but based on the sound it emitted, its power was undoubtedly extraordinary. This woman, battered as she was, must have fought it and survived—her strength clearly couldn’t be underestimated.

He was likely not her equal!

Better to continue hiding.

The woman kept her focus entirely on the demonic beast pursuing her outside. Vigilant, she took out a jar of ointment.

The ointment she retrieved was of an unknown origin, but the moment she opened the lid, its fragrance spread through the fissure, filling the air with a refreshing aroma.

Her body was riddled with wounds. On her back alone, there was a row of nearly parallel gashes—deep cuts extending from her back down to her thighs, blood oozing profusely, making her look tragically battered.

She opted to remove her final layer of clothing, biting down hard and enduring the pain while applying medicine to herself. This exposed her entire back to Carson’s line of sight.

Carson inwardly lamented his misfortune—if he were caught now, there was no doubt she’d silence him permanently!
