The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1440: Chapter 1440: Who are you, announce your name!

The White Ape clutched its head with both hands, letting out piercing, agonizing roars as its body struggled desperately to rise. Yet each time it tried, its movements were staggered and unsteady, like a drunken man.

Finally, with tremendous effort, it managed to stand upright, only to sway and collapse again, plunging headfirst into the deep pool in the mountain valley and sending a cascade of water into the air.

This scene left Mathew Stein and the other two utterly stunned.

Carson Flores incapacitated William White with just one punch? And William White’s strength was comparable to someone at the Human Immortal Peak?

What kind of power was this?

Mathew Stein’s voice turned cold as he demanded, ”What trick did you use on William White?”

Carson Flores replied calmly, ”Just made it lie down quietly; don’t worry, it’s not dead. But if you insist on fighting further, then I can’t guarantee its safety.”

While the others only saw Carson delivering a punch, the truth was far more intricate—Carson Flores had actually unleashed a sword strike.

His entire arm was the sword!

The razor-sharp Sword Qi that accompanied the strike pierced through its resilient fur, shattered its skull, and injured the cerebellum—the part of the brain that controls physical equilibrium. Thus, with the cerebellum wounded by Sword Qi, William White could no longer maintain balance and stumbled like a drunkard.

The White Ape’s defenses were indeed formidable. Carson initially thought he might finish it off with a single punch, though the result fell slightly short of his expectations. Nonetheless, he had achieved his goal in a roundabout way.

Mathew Stein stared at William White, who crawled out of the pool looking utterly paralyzed, and spoke coldly once more, ”Reveal yourself—who are you?”

Carson Flores hadn’t donned the Magic Robe of the White Crane Immortal Sect precisely because he wanted to avoid unnecessary trouble. This was also why he had considered leaving earlier. Yet now that a fight was inevitable and Carson faced domineering opponents, he knew that using the Eight-Armed Arhat technique would inevitably expose his identity.

”White Crane Immortal Sect, Carson Flores.”

Mathew Stein frowned deeply—so he was from White Crane Immortal Sect? No wonder he carried such unwavering confidence.

Though formidable in power, the White Crane Immortal Sect and the Infinite Sword Sect had never been on good terms. After all, the forces backing the two sides—the Tianlan Empire and the Iron Lion Empire—shared contested borders rife with conflict. Would their affiliated sects have amiable relations given such a divided history?

Mathew Stein sneered, ”This is Iron Lion territory, not Tianlan. Do you think we’d be afraid of you?”

Carson frowned slightly, ”Weren’t you the one who asked for my identity earlier? I told you because I wished to avoid unnecessary clashes. By the way, I am not an ordinary disciple of the White Crane Immortal Sect—I’m a disciple of Supreme Heaven Sect’s Heavenly Sword Bank Austin, Master of Heavenly Sword Peak.”

The moment Carson uttered these words, Mathew Stein and the two white-haired elders froze, their eyes instantly changing.

A disciple of Heavenly Sword Bank Austin?

Heavenly Sword’s inheritance had emerged?

Carson’s connection to Bank Austin was known to some sects, though typically only to their upper ranks. As the son of Winter Thunder Sect’s Sect Master, Mathew Stein wouldn’t ordinarily concern himself with such details.

Mathew Stein’s gaze flickered as his mind raced through the calculations.

If Heavenly Sword’s inheritance were to grow to its full potential, wouldn’t that signify a resurgence for the White Crane Immortal Sect? At that point, whether it was Infinite Sword Sect backing Iron Lion, Supreme Heaven Sect behind White Moon Empire, or any other sect across Skyland Continent—they would all be subjugated by the White Crane Immortal Sect’s domination.

Today, Mathew and his two elders had Carson trapped here. If they seized this chance to eliminate him, wouldn’t it earn them immense merit in Infinite Sword Sect’s eyes?

This was the Blackstone Mountain Range—if Carson perished here, who would know the truth?

Upon realizing this, Mathew Stein’s eyes lit up with ruthless clarity.

He sneered coldly, ”You claim to hail from the White Crane Immortal Sect, yet you wander around without your sect’s Magic Robe, skulking about like a trespasser. You’re nothing more than an impostor. Bank Austin left Thunder Immortal Realm ages ago—how could he suddenly have a disciple? Looking at your youthful visage, it’s clear you haven’t even chosen a subtle identity to impersonate properly.”

Carson Flores frowned slightly. It was obvious Mathew was nitpicking, signaling he intended not to let Carson leave peacefully.

Recalling that fleeting hint of joy on Mathew’s face earlier, Carson surmised his identity as Bank Austin’s disciple had only fueled the opponent’s desire to kill him instead of working as an advantage.

After all, had Angelina Newman of Supreme Heaven Sect not similarly ambushed him along the way, trying to snuff him out in his cradle to prevent him from growing into a threat?

Carson saw no point in further explanations. If they wanted to fight, then fight it would be.

For a Nine Dragons Immortal Lotus—it was worth it!

Carson’s voice turned ice-cold, ”If you want to kill me, then come at me directly. Enough with the hiding and excuses.”

Mathew Stein’s gaze darkened, his tone heavy as he called out, ”Two elder uncles, this man trespassed and stole the Nine Dragons Immortal Lotus marked by our Winter Thunder Sect and injured our mountain guardian beast, the White Ape. Please assist me in subduing him. If he attempts to escape, kill him immediately—leave no chance of letting him flee!”

The two white-haired elders listened, comprehending the determination behind Mathew Stein’s demand to eliminate Carson today. Though slightly impulsive, it was ultimately a reasonable course of action.

Officially, they wouldn’t acknowledge Carson as Bank Austin’s disciple anyway. Even if he survived and fled, the matter would come down to each side’s word against the other.

Exchanging brief glances, the two elders simultaneously summoned their magical treasures.

”Kill!”
