The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1394: Chapter 1394: Young in Age, but with a Spirit that Touches the Sky

”How strong is the Supreme Heaven Sect now?”

Lance Matthews answered: ”They used to be inferior to us, especially during the time when the Supreme Elder was present. They didn’t dare to say an extra word. Once, someone from their sect offended the Supreme Elder, and he stormed their sect to kill, with one stroke of his sword, he split the Fifth Peak where the offender resided. From then on, the five peaks of the Supreme Heaven Sect became four.”

”Since the Supreme Elder left until now, our sect has not seen the rise of any remarkable geniuses. While it’s true that we haven’t fallen to the level of an average power, we are still outshined compared to our former glorious days.”

”You, as the junior sect uncle, must know that a sect’s development relies heavily on a large number of talented disciples. However, what really deters others from provoking a sect often depends on how strong the most powerful individual of the sect is.”

”My master and the Supreme Elder were both prodigies, either one could support the glory of a sect single-handedly, but with the Supreme Elder gone and my master met with misfortune, although I have succeeded as the Sect Master, I do not have their genius talent to further elevate our sect.”

”The development of a sect is like sailing against the current; we must forge ahead or fall behind. Our sect is on a downward trend, whereas the Supreme Heaven Sect has produced several geniuses in a row, their strength growing stronger by the day. Now, they are starting to edge past our sect, probably why they dare to be so aggressively confrontational.”

”Their targeting of you is actually because they see the terrifying potential in you. Once given enough time, the White Crane Immortal Sect will rise again because of you. Given our feud, it’s not unlikely that the Supreme Heaven Sect will face misfortune then, therefore they’re using despicable means to try to nip you in the bud.”

After some thought, Carson Flores said: ”If that’s the case, we’ll speak of seeking justice at a more opportune time. Even if we confront the Supreme Heaven Sect, they can simply claim it was Angelina Newman’s individual action. With Angelina Newman dead, there is no one to answer for it, and besides, their strength is not weaker than ours. No matter how much we argue, it’s useless.”

Lance Matthews hesitated: ”But they wanted to kill you, are we just going to do nothing?”

Carson Flores smiled and said: ”If they had killed me, I would already be dead, and it wouldn’t matter anymore. They didn’t succeed, and instead Elder Angelina Newman was killed by me. I didn’t suffer a loss. A Peak True Immortal is no ordinary person; they must be in pain right now.”

Lance Matthews asserted: ”That’s for sure. A Peak True Immortal is a very formidable expert. Losing one like that, they would naturally be heartbroken.”

Carson Flores nodded: ”Since I do not have the strength of my master in the past, let’s just make a note of this for now. When the opportunity arises, we’ll settle the account, and of course, we can disclose this matter to the public opinion to slap their faces a couple of times, for satisfaction.”

Lance Matthews understood the implication of Carson Flores’ words. Since going to war did not give a clear advantage, they will hold back for now, leak the truth to shame them publicly, and disgust the Supreme Heaven Sect. As for actual revenge, that would come later.

Lance Matthews sighed in admiration internally, not just anyone could endure almost being killed without seeking immediate retribution.

Carson Flores approached the issue with a nonchalance, even requesting to downplay it to avoid causing trouble for the sect.

Lance Matthews hesitated: ”Junior sect uncle, in doing so, you are the one being wronged...”

Carson Flores chuckled: ”How am I wronged? Along my journey, countless have wanted me dead, and yet here I am, alive and well. Those who wished me dead, on the other hand, are truly the ones gone. So let’s settle the matter thus.”

Lance Matthews secretly admired him even more; though his junior sect uncle was young, his gallantry was immense, and he must have experienced no less risk of life and death than himself.

”In a few days, there’s a sect assembly, and I will personally attend it with the strongest Supreme Elders. I’ll have a good talk with them about this matter. Even if we do not go to war, we’ll stand on reason and certainly won’t make it easy for them.”

The general approach was already set; Lance Matthews, as the Sect Master, would decide how to proceed, and Carson Flores, as a Human Immortal, could not get involved.

Though he still had two streams of Sword Qi whose limits of power he didn’t yet know, they were meant for saving his life, not for disputes of pride.

Human Immortal, invincible in the Barbarian Wilderness, but in the Immortal Realm, he still has a long way to go.

With the matter settled, Carson Flores took out a Space Ring: ”The first batch of thirty-six Misty Moon Peaches, with four hundred and eighty-seven in the Heart Valley. I’ve decided to give five each to those eighteen disciples, fifty to Ashley Reid, and I’ve taken fifty for myself. The remaining over three hundred Misty Moon Peaches are all in here...”

Lance Matthews was surprised. The fortune was acquired by Carson Flores, and he hadn’t expected any share of it. After all, Carson Flores had a higher status and was the sect’s key figure to support; but he didn’t expect that Carson Flores would take the initiative to distribute the Misty Moon Peaches, and such a large number at that!

”Junior sect uncle, this is your fortune...”

Carson Flores interrupted Lance Matthews and smiled: ”Without the sect’s initial investment and effort, there would be no fortune for me later on. I have already received the greatest fortune, so these Misty Moon Peaches can be considered some repayment to the sect.”

Lance Matthews was overjoyed upon hearing Carson Flores say this.

It was not the three hundred plus Misty Moon Peaches that brought him joy but the recognition Carson Flores showed toward the sect!

He had truly begun to consider himself a part of the White Crane Immortal Sect!
