The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1360: Chapter 1360: I Let You Go, and You Just Leave?

Carson Flores was sitting on the stone stairs, seemingly admiring the scenery, but in fact, he was sensing the piercing Sword Intent coming from the stairs beneath him.

This section of stone stairs was located in the middle of the entire flight, an inconspicuous step, yet the Sword Intent at this particular step was the deepest and most piercing among the tens of thousands of steps on the stairs.

Ordinary Cultivators, even upon setting foot on these stairs, would hardly notice the Sword Intent within them, after all, the faint aura was easily overshadowed by the powerful Sword Intent prevalent throughout Heavenly Sword Peak.

Even if one could perceive the Sword Intent on the stairs, how many could discern the differences in the faint Sword Intent?

Carson Flores looked down at the step beneath his feet, his eyes inexplicably excited.

He was about seventy to eighty percent sure that the Heavenly Sword Inheritance was beneath this step, but he did not know what form this inheritance took.

As Carson was sitting, he suddenly felt a movement in his heart, turned his head, and saw Franklin Austin not far above, looking at him.

”Elder...”

Carson stood up, greeted Franklin Austin enthusiastically, yet in his heart, he wondered, was Franklin Austin’s coincidental appearance a sign that he had always been keeping an eye on him?

Franklin Austin was of ordinary talent...

Franklin Austin had guarded Heavenly Sword Peak for thousands of years...

Could it be that Franklin Austin always knew where the inheritance was, and his daily cleaning of the stairs was not in search of the inheritance, but rather guarding it?

As a sword servant of Bank Austin, guarding this inheritance for his master and selecting a qualified inheritor?

It makes complete sense!

If this was indeed the case, then this flight of stairs might not necessarily be where the inheritance was located; it could merely be a test.

Only those who pass the test might come into contact with the inheritance.

In just a moment, numerous thoughts flashed through Carson Flores’s mind, making his thoughts increasingly clear.

Franklin Austin floated down and stood beside Carson, his tone casual: ”What are you doing?”

Slightly hesitating for a second, Carson decided to tell the truth, as all of Franklin Austin’s actions indicated he knew much.

”I am sensing the Sword Intent from these stone stairs.”

Franklin Austin nodded, his demeanor calm: ”Heavenly Sword Peak is where the master comprehended the sword; everything on this mountain carries different degrees of Sword Intent... What are your feelings?”

Carson spoke frankly: ”There are numerous crossings of Sword Intent on this mountain, but the Sword Intent on these stairs is different, extremely weak, yet it possesses its own fierceness. I think, if Heavenly Sword Peak truly has the Heavenly Sword Inheritance, then it is most likely beneath these stairs.”

A hint of a smile appeared on Franklin Austin’s face: ”Is this why you come here and walk these stairs every day?”

Carson explained: ”Not exactly, I hadn’t thought too much about it previously. I just felt it was proper to show reverence to the two elders, and I felt comfortable walking this path, but perhaps because I walked too quickly before, I did not notice that distinct thread of Sword Intent.”

”Following the elder as he cleaned the steps, my walking slowed down, and I sat down on the steps to rest many times, only then did I feel the distinctiveness of that thread of Sword Intent. Then I found each step had varying strengths of Sword Intent, as if there was some kind of subtle guidance pointing to where the Sword Intent was strongest.”

Franklin Austin gazed at Carson Flores: ”Is your profound insight into Sword Intent because of your Sword Bone?”

Carson nodded: ”Yes, my Sword Bone, although refined artificially, has become a magical treasure integrated into my body. Hence, my perception of Sword Intent is much stronger than before. If it were the old me, I definitely wouldn’t have noticed it.”

Franklin Austin’s eyes showed an unreadable expression, containing joy and anticipation.

”Then, have you found the place where the Sword Intent is strongest?”

Carson stared into Franklin Austin’s eyes, stomping his foot: ”Right here, beneath this step. There should be something, but what it is specifically, I do not know.”

Franklin Austin looked down, his gaze complex as he stared at the step under Carson’s feet.

”Here? I’ve swept back and forth over this step countless times and couldn’t pinpoint where on the step it was exactly, and yet you’ve only been here for a short time and already pinpointed the exact spot...”

Franklin Austin suddenly looked up, coldly stating: ”You are not a member of White Crane Immortal Sect, please leave Heavenly Sword Peak.”

Betrayal after crossing the river?

Yet, Carson was not angry, smiling: ”Very well, elder, thank you for your care these past days.”

Carson turned around, just as he was about to take off, suddenly Franklin Austin’s voice came from behind.

”Wait.”

Carson turned around, meeting Franklin Austin’s somewhat puzzled look: ”Is there anything else you would like to instruct, elder?”

Franklin Austin frowned: ”Beneath this step, perhaps lies the Heavenly Sword Inheritance you’ve been seeking...”

Carson smiled, his demeanor serene: ”Perhaps it is.”

Franklin Austin’s eyes, sharp as swords, stared directly at Carson, who met his gaze with calm and a clear conscience.

After a long while, Franklin Austin, with a stern face, motioned to Carson: ”Come here.”
