The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364: I... I can’t say it out loud!

Carson Flores was stunned.

One of the conditions that Divine Sword Sect had previously offered was for the Sect Master to act as a proxy to take him as a disciple, making himself the Sect Master’s junior and the little martial uncle to the younger generation of the Sect. Carson was tempted for a while, but now he had actually become the little martial uncle of the White Crane Immortal Sect’s Sect Master!

This was way too exaggerated!

Now, the highest-ranking group within the White Crane Sect was the Supreme Elders, who were the mentors and seniors to the Sect Master. They were not many in number, typically not involving themselves in the affairs of the Sect, usually living in seclusion or wandering the world, their whereabouts unpredictable.

Beneath the Supreme Elders was the generation of Sect Master Lance Matthews, including various Peak Masters, Hall Masters, and other elders of the Sect. Robert Compton, who had previously brought Carson to the White Crane Immortal Sect, was one such Outer Sect elder.

Beneath the Sect Master, the First-generation Disciples had all grown up and were regarded as the backbone of the Sect. Most of the elite disciples had strengths above that of a Human Immortal, while the Second Generation Disciples were mostly below that level.

Beyond that, there was a massive number of Outer Sect Disciples, who could only be considered as reserves for the White Crane Immortal Sect. Only when they reached the Golden Core Realm would they be accepted into the Inner Sect, truly becoming a part of the White Cloud Immortal Sect as Fourth-generation Disciples.

In the White Crane Immortal Sect as of now, there were a total of four generations of disciples. Carson Flores was only in his thirties, but he had leapfrogged to become a member of the First-generation!

A bunch of old folks whose ages were unknown had to call Carson their junior, the Sect Master and elders had to address him as their little martial uncle, and the stalwart First-generation Disciples had to respectfully call him their martial ancestor uncle!

His status had shot up to the heavens!

Carson was somewhat overwhelmed by the favor, and for a moment, he didn’t know how to respond, ”Sect Master Lance, there’s no need to be so polite, I...”

Lance Matthews smiled faintly: ”Little martial uncle, just call me by my name.”

Carson Flores felt awkward.

”Alright, alright... ”

He just couldn’t bring himself to say it.

Bank Austin watched this amusing scene with a big laugh, clearly enjoying the mischief.

”Carson, you are now the little martial uncle of the White Crane Immortal Sect. Having inherited the Heavenly Sword, it’s your job to keep the banner flying high. Don’t tarnish the prestige of our Heavenly Sword Peak.”

Carson Flores bowed respectfully: ”Yes, Master!”

Bank Austin looked around and chuckled: ”Very good. As for other matters, handle them as you see fit. I shall take my leave!”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Bank Austin raised his hand, his fingers charged with Sword Intent, and tapped directly at the center of his own forehead.

”Bang!”

Golden Light exploded, and Bank Austin’s Primordial Spirit Incarnation burst into pieces instantaneously.

Carson’s eyes widened in shock. Did Bank Austin just obliterate his own Primordial Spirit Incarnation?

Franklin Austin seemed to notice Carson’s confusion and whispered an explanation: ”The master destroyed his own Primordial Spirit Incarnation, so his true body would sense this. Once the Incarnation is dead, it means the inheritance task has been completed...”

Carson suddenly understood.

While the self-destruction still served as a means of communication, the casualness and decisiveness of the act astonished everyone.

Couldn’t he wait until his energy was exhausted and he dissipated naturally?

That was ruthless indeed.

Bank Austin straightforwardly killed his Incarnation, and the awkward atmosphere at the scene immediately intensified.

Surrounded by a group of bigshots, Carson himself felt somewhat uneasy and cautiously tested, ”Sect Master...”

Lance Matthews interrupted with a smile: ”Just call me by my name.”

Carson’s face writhed with embarrassment, but he candidly suggested, ”Given my youth, and with you all being my seniors, it’s quite difficult for me to say it this way. Perhaps we could reach a compromise...”

Carson glanced at Franklin Austin; it was he who had proposed having the Sect Master take him as a junior to inherit the Heavenly Sword legacy. That proposal wasn’t unacceptable.

Since Bank Austin’s Primordial Spirit Incarnation was already dead, he would only know that the inheritance was taken up by someone, but not the specifics. Even if he did find out, Carson guessed he wouldn’t care much, seeing as he had been away for thousands of years—God knows which Immortal Domains he might be wandering in now.

By bringing this up proactively, Carson was giving Lance Matthews and the others an opportunity to save face. If they were truly opposed to the idea at heart, they could just take this chance to step back and resolve the issue, right?

The Supreme Elders were fine, since they were not involved in the affairs of the Sect and interactions were rare, having an extra junior wasn’t a big deal. But for the Sect Master, elders, and Hall Masters, who held actual power in the Sect, suddenly gaining such a young martial uncle—who would be happy with that?

However, Lance Matthews’ response was unexpected to Carson; he bowed and said with a smile, ”This was decided by the martial ancestor uncle himself, so it is settled. How can we just change it as we please? Little martial uncle, you need not feel awkward. In matters of seniority, age has never been a consideration.”

”The martial ancestor suppressed the world with a single sword, and no one in the White Crane Immortal Sect dared to provoke. Now, as the Sect has declined, no one possesses the martial ancestor’s prestige. Now that you, little martial uncle, have inherited the Heavenly Sword legacy, you bear the responsibility of restoring the Sect’s prestige. We will surely support you with all our might, united as one, to return the White Crane Immortal Sect to its former glory!”

Carson glanced around and was surprised to see no contempt or dissatisfaction, only excitement, trust, and anticipation.

A surge of warmth spontaneously rose in Carson’s heart. He understood that their trust in him was not based on his own performance, but because he was the chosen successor of Bank Austin.

They trusted in Bank Austin’s judgment!

They believed that he could become as powerful as Bank Austin!
