Chapter 1359: Chapter 1359: Sword Intent on the Stone Stairs

”Heavenly Sword Peak, just a bare and lonely peak, there’s nothing worth stealing anyway, why not? Besides, you hold the Elder’s Token, so naturally it’s feasible.”

Franklin Austin answered with a sentence, shrugged his shoulders, and added: ”A bare mountain, afraid that someone will cart the mountain away?”

Carson Flores’s heart leapt with joy, and he replied with a smile: ”Thank you, senior.”

Residing on Heavenly Sword Peak was naturally a better option.

Apart from easier access to the Heavenly Sword Inheritance, he also didn’t fancy staying in a guest room where people attended to him respectfully.

On Heavenly Sword Peak, there was only Franklin Austin alone; no one ever came by on an ordinary day. Living here would be much more comfortable.

Carson Flores moved to Heavenly Sword Peak and settled into the wooden cabin at the edge.

The next day, before the sun rose, Carson Flores heard Franklin Austin getting up.

This early?

Carson Flores quickly got out of bed, dressed, stepped outside, and just saw Franklin Austin holding a large broom, ready to head out.

”Senior, are you going to sweep the mountain path?”

Franklin Austin turned his head for a glance: ”Hmm.”

Carson Flores volunteered: ”Let me help you, we can split it; each sweeps half and it’ll be done faster.”

Franklin Austin replied: ”I’m old, don’t sleep much, sweeping paths is a way to pass time. You’re young, if you want to sleep, sleep; don’t feel embarrassed, this has nothing to do with you.”

But Carson Flores had already taken the initiative to grab another broom from the corner: ”Now that I’m awake, let’s do it together, consider it a morning routine.”

Franklin Austin hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded: ”Alright.”

Following Franklin Austin, they both leapt down to a midpoint, where Franklin Austin pointed downwards: ”You sweep from here up, I’ll sweep down from below.”

”Okay.”

After Franklin Austin left, Carson Flores landed and started sweeping up along the stairs.

Though the stairs were clean, sweeping them was much slower than walking. And from Franklin Austin’s attitude, it was clear that he didn’t plan to use spells, just rely on manpower to sweep hard; naturally, Carson Flores didn’t feel proper to use a spell to assist.

Luckily, Carson Flores had recently been calm and not in a rush when facing the long stone steps.

He’s walked up and down the mountain for eight hours a day without any problems; surely this half-distance would not take eight hours to sweep?

Carson Flores settled his mind and started sweeping upwards step by step. As he swept, however, he frowned.

Why does it seem his Sword Bone was somewhat out of control?

As if it were leaping and cheering?

What’s happening?

Carson Flores paid close attention and astonishingly discovered a faint Sword Intent releasing from the black stone steps. If it weren’t for his own Sword Bone, which was extremely sensitive to Sword Intent, he never would have noticed this subtle Sword Intent.

Carson Flores’s heart stirred; could this thread-like Sword Intent be related to the Heavenly Sword Inheritance?

After some thought, Carson Flores wasn’t certain of this, as the peak was Bank Austin’s place of sword enlightenment, and it was normal for all things here to be somewhat imbued with Bank Austin’s Sword Intent.

Uncertain as he was, Carson Flores remained alert.

Observing all the way, he was soon overjoyed to find.

On each step, there seemed to be thread-like Sword Intent, so faint it was almost imperceptible.

It took nearly four hours for Carson Flores to finish sweeping the entire staircase, by which time daylight was in full swing.

Looking back on the stairs he had swept, excitement flickered in his eyes.

There is something up with these stairs!

For sword immortals to practice swordsmanship or understand swords, it is normal to leave strong Sword Intent, but the Sword Intent on these stairs is different. It doesn’t feel like it was left unintentionally; rather, it was deliberately imparted with a sense of pattern and rhythm.

The stairs are clearly clean, yet Franklin Austin insists on sweeping every day, not using any spells, quietly sweeping step by step.

Why?

If these stairs are related to the inheritance, does that mean Franklin Austin already knows where the inheritance is?

Is he understanding the Heavenly Sword while sweeping the stairs daily?

With doubts in mind, Carson Flores finished his chore.

Soon after, Franklin Austin came back, greeted Carson Flores casually as if nothing had happened, and went into the kitchen to start a fire and cook.

After the meal, Carson Flores went back to the stone steps. He walked a bit and then lay directly on the steps.

His Sword Bone, in close contact with the stairs, made the weak Sword Intent more apparent, which further confirmed his speculations.

While Carson Flores was unclear about what Bank Austin did with the stairs, he was certain that the stairs had something to do with the Heavenly Sword Inheritance!

Carson Flores closed his eyes, collected his thoughts, and carefully felt the intent.

After a while, he moved downwards, feeling that when he changed positions, the Sword Intent seemed to strengthen slightly.

Just a bit!

This discovery excited Carson Flores greatly; if he could use this as a clue, searching towards the location where the Sword Intent was strongest, did it mean that he might find the Heavenly Sword Inheritance left by Bank Austin?
