The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1039: Chapter 1039: Self-Detonation

Carson Flores was greatly astonished as his gaze fell upon the bowl in Jorge Gross’s hand.

This bowl looked quite ordinary, nothing more than a common clay-fired bowl, rustic and aged.

Yet, with its simple cover, the Great Demon couldn’t break out.

Kellan Gentry wore armor of immense weight. Although his speed was still fast, it was inevitably affected, but the bowl completely compensated for his disadvantage in speed.

Death Arena!

With a tap from Jorge Gross, the light shield shrunk by half instantly, and the light curtain became thicker and brighter, even more sturdy, resembling a luminous prison.

Kellan Gentry, laughing wildly, charged towards the Great Demon whose face was filled with despair.

Carson Flores quietly marveled; what magical treasure was this clay bowl? It seemed so powerful, controlling it at will, like a space cage, effortlessly trapping people inside with no chance of escape.

In such a confined space, who could withstand Kellan Gentry’s Iron Fist?

The middle-aged man only blocked three punches from Kellan Gentry before half of his body was blown apart.

Kellan Gentry grabbed the middle-aged man’s large pincer and, laughing boisterously, he forcefully snapped, breaking the pincer of the man’s right arm.

”I’ll keep this pincer as a souvenir!”

The middle-aged man’s Life-bound Magic Treasure was forcefully broken and snatched away by Kellan Gentry, his mind suffered a tremendous blow, and his Primordial Spirit fled towards the light curtain.

Kellan Gentry didn’t even try to stop him, laughing loudly, ”You can’t escape with your body, and now your Primordial Spirit wants to flee? Give up hope!”

The Great Demon’s Primordial Spirit hovered in the air, a black scorpion shrouded in fear, it exclaimed, ”You must be one of the Vajra Bandit Kings, right? I’m willing to pay, whatever amount you want, I’ll give it to you!”

Kellan Gentry walked over slowly, like a War God, and grabbed the cornered scorpion Primordial Spirit.

”To the Human Race, I say pay up for peace, and my word is my bond. But to your Demon Race, I kill first, then rob, taking more or less depending on fate!”

Normally, powerhouses have one or two desperate moves that allow their Primordial Spirit to escape, but it’s unfortunate that his strength was already less than Kellan Gentry’s, not to mention that the light shield was in the way, ultimately leaving no escape.

”If you won’t let me live, then let’s die together!”

The Great Demon, unwilling to let Kellan Gentry crush his Primordial Spirit, let out a piercing scream as his Primordial Spirit self-destructed.

”Boom!”

It was like a small nuclear explosion. The light shield burst instantly, and the massive shockwave swept all about, causing rows of buildings to collapse like a house of cards in an instant.

An Azure Dragon-engulfed light shadow suddenly appeared on Jorge Gross, making him stand unwavering in the storm like a rock.

With a snap, Carson Flores unfolded his Thousand Mechanism Umbrella, bracing it against his back, its Runes glowing brightly.

As the storm hit, Carson Flores bent forward, clenching the handle of the Thousand Mechanism Umbrella tightly.

Such a powerful explosion!

This was Carson Flores’s first time witnessing the self-detonation of a Great Demon’s Primordial Spirit, its force was too great.

If not for the protective light shield emitted by Jorge Gross’s bowl, which blocked most of the impact, the entire city might have perished in that self-destructive blast.

Even so, the expansive City Lord’s Mansion had essentially turned into a pile of rubble, with a massive crater forming on the ground.

What about Kellan Gentry?

The Kellan Gentry who had snatched the Great Demon’s Primordial Spirit and bore the brunt of the blast at close range, what happened to him?

Was he blasted to death?

As the dust cleared, a towering figure emerged from the smoke, like a colossal mech warrior.

The black armor he wore flickered with light, and runes on the hulking Kellan Gentry’s body were also shining. He spat out a mouthful of saliva, cursing, ”Damn it, I hesitated too long and let him detonate, almost blew my hand off...”

Kellan Gentry raised his right hand, and blood dripped from the gaps in his Iron Fist.

This was the hand that had held the Great Demon’s Primordial Spirit, enduring the fiercest of the explosion.

Carson Flores’s eyes widened in shock.

To only bleed from such a mighty explosive impact?

Seeing him shake off his hand, his bones seemed unharmed; it must have been just a flesh wound – his defensive strength was unbelievably strong.

No wonder his nickname was ”King Duncan”; his damage resilience was monstrous, regardless of his offensive power.

Carson Flores had seen many strong figures, but with such an intense explosion, if one was at the epicenter, he wasn’t sure who else could claim to be unscathed.

As the Azure Dragon light barrier dissipated, Jorge Gross reappeared, ”Are you alright?”

Kellan Gentry laughed heartily, ”I’m fine. This much shock, I can handle.”

This much shock?

Carson Flores silently clicked his tongue; he suddenly realized he might have underestimated the Vajra Gang, Kellan Gentry, and Jorge Gross.

Kellan Gentry was a typical bruiser but far ”tougher” than Carson imagined.

Jorge Gross was unassuming, yet his clay bowl that could contain the Great Demon, and the Azure Dragon light barrier that stood unmoving in the face of the Primordial Spirit’s explosive impact, both filled Carson with awe.

Carson couldn’t gauge Jorge Gross’s strength, but those two magical treasures were indeed formidable!

The two working together, no wonder they were free to roam the Central Divine Continent, feared and known as one of the Eight Great Brigand Kings.

It was fortunate Carson hadn’t intervened before; otherwise, had he been trapped by that light shield, would Kellan Gentry have simply crushed him?
