The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1018: Chapter 1018: I Don’t Want My Body to Be Inhabited by an Old Woman

”I understand, but there’s nothing I can do; I can’t sense their location.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Alright, after your arm has been exposed, I think the entire Barbaric Wilderness Realm will search for your other body parts. I just need to stay attentive, and I believe news will come soon.”

Cristopher Hopkins, ”I have waited for over ten thousand years; a little more time won’t make a difference.”

”Good!”

Carson Flores agreed, then asked curiously, ”If you are resurrected, what will you do, return to the Immortal Realm to settle the score with the person who harmed you?”

Cristopher Hopkins, ”That is inevitable, but so much time has passed, she has probably been in power for a long time, and revenge won’t be easy.”

Carson Flores said to comfort him, ”You are so powerful, there must be a way. If I have the ability and opportunity in the future, I will help you...”

Carson Flores said this and paused, then laughed at himself.

”That was perhaps an overstatement. Our realms are too far apart. If even you can’t handle an enemy, how could I be of any help? I’d probably be extinguished by a single breath of theirs.”

Cristopher Hopkins, ”No one is born a mighty one; even the Immortal Emperor grew from a common person step by step. Keep it up!”

Cristopher Hopkins, ”Thank you!”

Cristopher Hopkins put down his brush, flew back to Carson Flores’s shoulder, and ended their conversation.

Carson Flores picked up the note written by Cristopher Hopkins, glanced at it, folded it, and put it away.

After swallowing an elixir, Carson Flores began to recover from his injuries.

Half a day later, Carson Flores suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze falling on Violeta Herrera, not far away.

She was awake.

Lilianna Norman opened her eyes and looked at Carson Flores, her gaze complex.

”You actually managed to escape with me.”

Carson Flores gave a bitter smile, ”It was close; we’re just lucky.”

Lilianna Norman looked around, ”Where is the Demon Ancestor?”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”I don’t know. Her physical body was destroyed, and her Primordial Spirit severely injured; she fled far away. What happened after that, I have no idea.”

Violeta Herrera blinked, ”I remember you took me into the Eternal Tombfield...”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, we nearly died in there.”

Violeta Herrera asked, ”What’s inside there?”

Carson Flores replied, ”Corpses of ancient creatures that continue to exist in a special way within that dense fog, attacking any living being that enters.”

Lilianna Norman was silent for two seconds before speaking softly, ”You’ve saved my life again.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Last time, it wasn’t a deliberate rescue; I was also saving myself. This time, I wasn’t just saving you, but countless innocent members of the Human Race, so... you don’t need to thank me.”

Once the Demon Ancestor possessed Lilianna Norman to become the new Demon Ancestor, with her status, she would surely obtain all the resources she desired. Then, she would only need a relatively short period to return to her strongest state, and possibly due to her Innate Taoist Body, she could even surpass her current self and become even stronger.

By that time, the Human Race would be the unlucky ones.

To say their lives would be devastated is an understatement; there’s a high probability that the Human Race as a whole would be trampled under her feet, becoming slaves or even Blood Food for the Demon Race.

Humans can kill members of the Demon Race and consume them, and the Demon Race can do the same to humans.

Violeta Herrera gave a bitter smile, ”We thought we could awaken a Demon Ancestor that had reverted to youth. Who knew it was such a grand deception...”

”Reverting to youth?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”What you were seeking might not have been the Demon Ancestor at all. Maybe more members of the Demon Race just wanted to learn about the Reversal of Fate Formation from her, so they too could seal themselves up when close to death and revert to youth, right?”

Lilianna Norman nodded, ”Yes, who knew it would be a trap, that she wanted to possess me.”

Feeling curious, Carson Flores asked, ”Aren’t you the Saintess of the Demon Race? Aren’t all the things you do for the rise of the Demon Race? Why would you refuse to be possessed by the Demon Ancestor?”

”Even though you are talented, you can’t possibly be as powerful as the Demon Ancestor, can you? She’s already so powerful without an Innate Taoist Body. Wouldn’t having one make her even stronger?”

”Sacrificing yourself for the happiness of the entire Demon Race, why are you unwilling to do so?”

Lilianna Norman’s gaze flickered, and for a moment, she didn’t know how to answer Carson Flores’s question.

Indeed, it would be just her dying. If she were to hand over her body to the Demon Ancestor and allow her possession, then the Demon Race would have an incredibly powerful being who none could rival. Who could stop the Demon Race then?

Why did she refuse?

Was she afraid of death?

Lilianna Norman fell into deep contemplation and after a long while, she looked squarely at Carson Flores.

”I’m not afraid to die, but I don’t want my body to be inhabited by an old hag, especially her touch on my face, her gaze, it made me feel disgusted!”

Carson Flores had just asked casually, for him, being unwilling was the normal stance, wasn’t it?

To casually sacrifice oneself for others is indeed noble, but that’s not the kind of person he is!

Carson Flores laughed, ”Thinking about it does give me the creeps. It’s even more disturbing than when the True Dragon Soul wanted to take over our bodies.”

Lilianna Norman nodded, ”Do you think I’m just making excuses?”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”Not at all; I wouldn’t want it either.”
