The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1017: Chapter 1017: Such strength, not even a half achieved?

Two days later, Carson Flores stopped in a secluded valley.

After the battle at the Eternal Tombfield, Carson too had been injured. He carried Lilianna Norman and sprinted westward.

Westward, to the Central Divine Continent.

Lilianna Norman had been unconscious, but her previously death-like face had now gained a trace of faint color.

After two days of frantic flight, Carson had put a considerable distance between them and the Eternal Tombfield. The spiritual imprint on Lilianna had been erased by Cristopher Hopkins, so it should be impossible for anyone to track them down.

”Fairy, thank you for coming to my rescue. If it hadn’t been for you, I would probably be dead,” he said.

The arm resting on Carson’s shoulder moved its fingers, a gesture of acknowledgment.

Carson had many questions in his mind. He took out some paper and a pen and placed them on a small square table.

”Fairy, can we talk? I have so many questions...”

The arm flew to the table and picked up the pen, then gestured to Carson—an indication of agreement.

Carson let out a sigh of relief and asked, ”Fairy, why can your hand act with its own consciousness, and fight independently?”

Cristopher Hopkins began to write.

”Primordial Spirit Projection. Before I was slain, in order to facilitate the search for my body later, I left a projection of my Primordial Spirit in every part of it, hidden within the body.”

This answer was almost what Carson had expected. After all, a cultivator could project their Primordial Spirit. Why would it be strange for an Immortal to project into body parts?

Carson then asked, ”Combat requires energy. Can your hand absorb Spiritual Energy?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”The arm contains a lot of Immortal Spiritual Force. Although I can use some special cultivation techniques to borrow a small amount of nature’s spiritual energy, it’s not much. Overall, the combat relies on the Immortal Spiritual Force within the arm.”

Carson’s eyes widened with concern as he asked, ”The Immortal Spiritual Force must also have a source. If it can’t be replenished and runs out, what then?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”Naturally, I would be unable to fight.”

Carson asked worriedly, ”How much Immortal Spiritual Force is left after those battles you fought to save me?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”Not much is left. The enemies I encountered today were quite powerful, depleting a significant amount of the stored Immortal Spiritual Force in my arm. I must conserve some Immortal Spiritual Force for self-protection. So for a short period, I won’t be able to help you again. Be careful on your own.”

As expected!

Carson had worried about this exact issue, and now it had been confirmed.

Although somewhat disappointed, he felt it was reasonable, and she had saved his life after all. Carson naturally had no thoughts of dissatisfaction.

”Alright, thank you, Fairy. From now on, you should rest well, and I will find a way to search for the rest of your body!”

Having been saved twice by Cristopher Hopkins, Carson already considered her one of his own and, with a grateful heart, would naturally try to save the rest of her body.

One must not only take without giving in return!

”As long as you can find my body, I can regain ten percent of my Combat Power. In the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, that should be enough to protect you thoroughly. Moreover, you won’t have to worry about the Immortal Spiritual Force running out.”

”And if you also find my head, I could regain about twenty percent of my strength. If you recover all of my body, after being revived, sweeping through the entire Barbaric Wilderness Realm wouldn’t be a problem.”

Restoration by reattaching body parts one by one?

The means of an Immortal are indeed extraordinary!

Curious, Carson asked, ”Fairy, may I ask how the strength you’re displaying now compares to your full power? What percentage of it would you say it is?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”Less than half. Moreover, as the Immortal Spiritual Force depletes further, my combat power will continue to weaken.”

Less than half!

Carson’s eyes widened in astonishment. That was truly exceptional!

A snap of the fingers injuring three Tribulation Crossing powerhouses, a casual punch blasting away a colossal ancient Fierce Beast, a punch severely injuring a Demon Ancestor that even the Emperor Seal could not subdue...

Such power, and it wasn’t even half of her full strength?

Just how powerful was she at her peak?

It appeared that Cristopher Hopkins Immortal was a person of renown in the Immortal Realm, definitely not an ordinary Immortal.

Unable to contain his curiosity, Carson asked, ”You must have been quite powerful in the Immortal Realm too, right?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”Mediocre, not particularly impressive.”

Mediocre?

If that’s just mediocre, what does that make me?

No wonder they say Immortals view cultivators in the Barbarian Wilderness as ants; the comparison couldn’t be more apt!

Carson thought for a moment and asked, ”Do you know the origins of that old demon hag? What about the Ancient Creatures?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”I do not know. I was born in the Immortal Realm and am not familiar with the Barbarian Wilderness.”

Carson was slightly disappointed, having hoped that her immense power might mean she knew a bit more.

Since she had no idea, Carson changed the subject.

”Your body is hidden in various locations, concealed by Formations, and you can’t sense it. How should I search for them?”

Cristopher Hopkins: ”Follow your own path. There’s no need to try too hard. When the time comes, they will naturally appear.”

Surprised by such an answer, Carson smiled wryly and said, ”I actually hope to find your body soon too. It would help you, and if I come across danger, having you as a backer would be reassuring, wouldn’t it?”
