Three Towers Game

Chapter 432: Revised: Chapter 138 The Goddess Can Be Killed

Actually, it was Wen Xishu’s first time encountering a game that required so many people.

Honestly, if it were just him alone, opening 30 jars, he wasn’t sure he could survive.

But with a high Anti-Magic Value, he felt that the dark shadow just now might not necessarily be able to swallow him.

Moreover, he still had a trick up his sleeve.

”If it were dead NPCs, that would be fine, no burden at all. But it’s the Bunker People dying. It affects me somewhat.”

This was Wen Xishu’s inner thought.

The other few people were also somewhat swayed by this kind of thinking. Sending people to their deaths, after all, was somewhat cruel.

Fang Tianhen said:

”I actually don’t care about people... damn, I’m a bird person myself, and my group are all bird people too. Asking them to die... they might not be willing.”

This was a very realistic issue.

When Fang Tianhen picked people, he picked those who looked like they only had brute strength because Fang Tianhen himself was this kind of person and was adept at dealing with them.

But in such a short time, it’s hard to establish prestige. Convincing his people to sacrifice themselves was tough.

Everyone’s gaze actually fell on Ling Fu.

Ling Fu had always been smiling, but now his smile was gone.

Ling Fu initially intended to use the elderly, weak, sick, and disabled to demand privileges.

He was exploiting everyone’s compassion for the weak. When the crowd is large enough and weak people are the majority, there’s a saying ”the weak are always right.”

But now, Ling Fu had experienced Wen Xishu’s methods.

”Letting the elderly, weak, and sick die is better than letting the young and capable die,” said Ling Chen.

He rarely spoke.

But he knew, this was the situation now. Next, his brother Ling Fu had to be the one driving the elderly, weak, and sick to open the jars.

Ling Fu took a deep look at Ling Chen, and his smile reappeared:

”Indeed, you are right. At times like this, benevolence and morality should be set aside.”

”So, how many jars do my people have to open? They indeed have the value of being sacrificed because they are weak...”

”Have you ever thought that if normal people die, everyone might feel indignant, but at least they would still have some faith in order, and in this temporary small society established in this cellar, people would still adhere to virtues.”

”But if we start by targeting the elderly, weak, and sick, it means marking it from the start as an extremely rational and selfish small society. In such a scenario, would it really benefit our future management?”

”Should the weak deserve death, wouldn’t this incite rebellion among the weak? And... weakness is a relative concept, not an absolute one.”

In fact, from the beginning, Wen Xishu hadn’t thought about who to start with.

Should the elderly, weak, and sick deserve to die? He didn’t think so, after all, the Deceit Tower was a place for using one’s brain.

He really thought this was a subject worth discussing.

In terms of probability, two people had opened jars so far.

Both fared poorly.

One was a brat who died in the shadow. The other was Ayoovic, whom Wen Xishu had already arranged for someone to observe secretly, to see if he would ”open a jar.”

And to determine the potential risks after his allegiance shifted.

But so far, Ayoovic seemed normal, following the order not to touch the jars strictly.

At present, Ayoovic showed no signs of being part of an opposing faction.

Wen Xishu decided to keep observing.

But as for results, both jars opened so far ended badly. From the game’s performance so far... the outcome of opening jars was indeed very bad.

Usually, to get someone to sacrifice themselves, someone needs to set an example.

Wen Xishu also noticed Ling Fu.

”This Ling Fu is interesting. When everyone thinks rationally and wants to give up on the elderly, weak, and sick, he actually blocks this idea.”

”And I must say, his debating skills are quite sharp. Logically, it’s self-consistent.”

Wen Xishu didn’t think Ling Fu’s rebuttal was disrespecting him.

In his view, using this large-scale battle to find worthy Deceit Tower climbers was also good.

”What you all say makes sense, in that case, let me do it.” Wen Xishu suddenly spoke, shocking everyone.

”Huh? Younger Brother Wen, what do you mean? What are you going to do?” Zheng Zai suddenly asked worriedly.

Wen Xishu said:

”Of course, I’ll open the first jar.”

Wen Xishu paused and continued:

”Ling Fu’s point just now makes some sense. From a benefit perspective, we need to sacrifice the elderly, weak, and sick.”

”But the underlying order for everyone to follow management is based on morality. Without morality, only rational thinking would indeed hinder management. If it becomes survival of the fittest here, wouldn’t that itself be a... beginning of collapse?”

”So to resolve this dilemma, setting an example is best. For instance—I’ll open something good first.”

”If I open something good, I’ll demonstrate two things—1, if we don’t open jars, we’ll face great danger tonight.”

”2, opening jars doesn’t necessarily bring danger; it might yield something useful. And this useful thing belongs to the jar opener.”

”Whoever opens something good will gain social status and tangible benefits. This way, it’s like climbing the tower, and everyone can accept the concept of life and death being up to fate.”
