Three Towers Game

Chapter 426: Amended: Chapter 137 Opening the Jar

In the dim environment, there were many sounds.

Wen Xishu looked around and found that Yue Yun and others were all present. This reassured him a lot.

”Where is this place?”

”Help! I want to go back to the bunker! I want to go back to the bunker!”

”Dad, Mom, where are you! It’s so cold here!”

”Have we... arrived in Hell?”

Countless voices of the lower-tier bunker residents rose and fell.

Most of them were crying, breathing uneasily, and shouting anxiously. The coughing of the elderly, the cries of children.

The densely packed voices intertwined into a web.

Wen Xishu realized that this time, many people might die.

He began observing his surroundings; it seemed like a cellar... a very large cellar, which contained many jars.

There was no sunlight; Wen Xishu thought he would be teleported to some sort of castle based on the description.

A mysterious woman, shoes with eerie powers... these seemed like a dark medieval story.

But he did not expect to end up in a place without sunlight. The entire cellar was lit only by candlelight.

Wen Xishu noticed that these flames seemed to be durable, capable of burning indefinitely. He stared at one candle for a while and saw a notification.

[Dark Light: They are the only light source. After the apocalypse, they also received grace and will never be extinguished. But don’t get too close, they will ignite you. The flames here won’t kill you but will keep burning, forever burning...]

Only Wen Xishu could see these words, which really surprised him.

He had seen flames that could turn anything to ashes, but it was the first time he saw flames that couldn’t kill but would keep burning a person.

In a sense, this thing could be considered a kind of torture device.

At this moment, someone was holding a candle, walking back and forth in the dim cellar.

Wen Xishu suddenly thought of a terrifying scene...

The eternally burning candle, accidentally ignited someone’s body... that person wouldn’t die but would continually feel the burning pain. They would run everywhere, roll on the ground, trying to extinguish the flames, but to no avail...

More and more people got touched by them, turning the entire cellar into a sea of flames filled with the living.

Just thinking about it made even someone as brave as Wen Xishu feel a little scared.

Luckily, he found that those flames were not so aggressive, and the people holding the candles were quite cautious.

Wen Xishu did not immediately stop them, fearing that it might cause unnecessary panic and lead to tragedy.

He continued to observe his surroundings.

A while ago, Wen Xishu and his partners Yue Yun and Ah Miao entered a vortex.

Then they fell into a brief unconscious state.

But before this process, Wen Xishu actually experienced an extra segment.

That was the new cheat function of the Scorpion Knife and the rolling of the Mad Dice.

The cheating knife of Scorpio provided Wen Xishu an ability this time called ”Faction System.”

Simply put, this time Wen Xishu could see people who did not belong to his faction.

Their names were displayed in red.

This was a pretty common game system, after all, many game developers knew that scant game content could be alleviated by inciting conflicts among players.

No matter how small a game map was, as long as you could shoot players from opposing factions on it, you wouldn’t feel bored easily.

However, whether this faction system would play a role in this mission, or whether it would be left unused like last time’s save point, Wen Xishu was not sure.

In any case, it didn’t seem like a particularly miraculous ability.

Moreover, this time the Mad Dice gave very few options.

When Wen Xishu rolled the Mad Dice, the results were — 4, 3, 3.

This was quite a mediocre roll. There were only two options for Wen Xishu to choose from.

[Prime Boost: (Triggered when two prime numbers are included in the three dice. Effect: During completion reward settlement, if there are items, sequences, or facilities, one of them will trigger Prime Boost, enhancing its quality and grade.)]

[Topsy-Turvy: (Triggered when the three dice show four and three, and no other numbers are present, i.e., 433 or 443. Effect: You can correct four wrong actions to become correct actions, and you can convert three negative effects happening to you into positive effects.)]

Following the principle of choosing new over old, Wen Xishu chose the latter. Topsy-Turvy.

Perhaps in the midst of chaos, he could find a way to survive.

Furthermore, the survival rate of Topsy-Turvy was evidently higher than that of Prime Boost.

But Wen Xishu had to admit, this time...

The help he received from the Mad Dice was far less than ”Trinity.” The options were almost non-existent.

This made him more cautious.

At this moment, Yue Yun approached Wen Xishu:

”Wen Xishu, Nissen and I just wandered around. This place is huge, as big as a sports stadium with a court.”

”It also has many rooms, including a library, dining hall, prayer room, several bedrooms, and bathrooms.”

”But strangely, almost... no, not almost, every place, every room here, has countless jars.”

”These jars are sealed. We checked, the stoppers are in place. We didn’t dare to open them, feeling there’s something weird inside.”

”Additionally, there are too many people. There are about two hundred people here. Almost all are from the bunker, including the elderly, children, the sick, pregnant women, people with disabilities, all kinds of vulnerable groups.”
