Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 500 The Truth! The Twitter video featuring Professor Liu’s avatar was like a drop of water into boiling oil, instantly causing a violent explosion in the internet world of Eastern Country.

The first to discover this video were some Netizens who had long been following international developments.

When they saw in the video that the esteemed authority on anti-gravity physics in the country was sitting in an extremely luxurious room, holding black tea, and smilingly saying that he ”really likes the academic atmosphere here,” everyone was stunned.

Screenshots and video links were rapidly forwarded.

Within just over ten minutes, related topics rushed to the top of the trending lists on major social platforms.

In the comment section, a massive number of messages poured in instantly, completely blowing up.

”What’s going on? Wasn’t it said that he was detained by Country A?”

”Damn, this reversal is too fast, right? Yesterday the official side just held a press conference to take a tough stance, and today the person himself came out to say he likes it there?”

”Could it be that Country A turned Professor Liu?”

As soon as this comment appeared, it immediately attracted countless agreements.

”I think so too. Look at that room of his; it’s more luxurious than villas in the country. It must be money that did it.”

”Right, you think these scientists love our land that much? It’s just going wherever they pay more.”

”He must have been bought off, otherwise how to explain it? It couldn’t be that the CIA kidnapped him and also opened a presidential suite for him, right?”

For a time, various conspiracy theories about ”scientists defecting” and ”being bought with heavy money” became rampant.

But at the same time, many people remained rational, not believing that a titan who had dedicated his life to the country would change his stance so easily.

”No way, I’ve seen some of Professor Liu’s videos; he doesn’t seem like that kind of person, right?”

”Exactly, Professor Liu has been indifferent to fame and wealth all his life, a person in his seventies, how could he betray his own country for money and enjoyment.”

”No, the person above, stop farting here, okay? The situation now hasn’t even been figured out yet.”

”Right, making conclusions so early, I think you have ulterior motives.”

Opinions on the internet quickly split into two factions, arguing endlessly.

On one side were the die-hard supporters who firmly believed in Professor Liu’s character, and on the other were various cold sarcasms, asserting that this was a naked betrayal.

...

And at this moment.

On the side of the high-level officials.

A group of big shots in high positions, looking at Professor Liu’s smiling face in the video, all frowned and said nothing.

The ashtray was already piled with cigarette butts.

”Impossible.”

After a long time, an old man sitting in the main seat tapped the table gently with his finger, breaking the silence.

”I know Old Liu’s character. Even if you held a gun to his head, he absolutely wouldn’t be able to say such words.”

His voice was not loud, but it carried undeniable weight.

The others present nodded one after another; they had known Professor Liu for many years and knew his character well.

”There is a problem with this video,” another big shot said in a deep voice.

”Call the ’Eagle Eye’ team from the Cyber Security Center over.” The old man in the main seat spoke again.

A young secretary who had been standing by the wall nodded immediately and walked out of the conference room quickly.

Not long after, a man in his thirties wearing black-rimmed glasses walked in hurriedly, carrying a metal suitcase.

He had no extra nonsense, walked straight to the control console in the corner of the conference room, and connected the equipment in the suitcase to the mainframe of the supercomputer.

”Chief, the video is being analyzed frame by frame.”

As his voice fell, the big screen in the conference room split into two.

On the left was still that video, and on the right appeared countless rapidly scrolling codes and complex waveforms.

A green progress bar advanced slowly at the bottom of the big screen.

The air in the conference room was a bit dull, and only the low hum of the supercomputer’s cooling fans could be heard.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on that progress bar without blinking.

Time passed minute by minute.

Finally, under everyone’s gaze, that progress bar reached the end.

With a soft ”ding,” the report of the analysis results popped up.

The technician walked quickly to the screen, carefully read the data once, and then turned to face the big shots present.

His face was somewhat serious.

”Report, Chief, the test results are out.”

”The results show that there is a one percent possibility that this video is AI-generated.”

One percent?

Hearing this number, some people present showed puzzled expressions on their faces.

...

”Chiefs, the reason why we can only detect a one percent probability is likely because the other side used the most cutting-edge generative adversarial network currently available, which is the GAN deepfake model. It learns through the mutual confrontation of two neural networks, one network is responsible for generation, the other for discrimination, constantly iterating and optimizing. The final forged product is almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing even by itself.”

”From the simulation of voiceprints to the matching of lip-reading, and even the slightest movement of facial muscles, and even the reflection of the eyeball under high light, it has almost done it flawlessly.”

The technician’s voice echoed in the quiet conference room.

”Our ’Eagle Eye’ system is already a world-class detection program. The reason it can give this one percent conclusion is because it captured a tiny pixel distortion in the professor’s pupil within a few hundredths of a second, which does not conform to physical conventions.”

”Being able to detect this one percent is enough to be one hundred percent sure that this is a completely AI-forged video.”

After listening to this detailed explanation, the conference room fell into a brief silence.

Immediately.

”Heh...”

A big shot couldn’t help but be angered into laughter.

”Truly absurd!” another followed, ”The dignified Country A, to respond to our diplomatic note, actually came up with such an AI video to fool people?”

”This is simply treating international diplomacy as child’s play!”

The big shots present were almost angered into laughter; they really didn’t expect the other side to use such absurd means to respond to this incident.

It was like two adults negotiating seriously, while one side suddenly put on a clown mask and started performing a farce.

However, after a brief moment of being dumbfounded, everyone’s brows furrowed deeply again.

A big shot pressed the cigarette butt in his hand heavily into the ashtray, his voice becoming low.

”This precisely shows that the other side has already become somewhat shameless.”

”Yes,” another echoed, ”Even using such absurd tricks shows they are determined not to release him now. If we push too hard on our side, no one can say for sure if that ’Leader Hen Meipu,’ who doesn’t play by the rules, might really be driven to a dead end and do something even more outrageous.”

These words made the atmosphere in the conference room heavy again.

...

And next.

The official side of Eastern Country did not hesitate and immediately made this test report, attached with detailed technical parameters, public through all major official channels.

The report used the most rigorous scientific language to expose the fact that the video was AI-forged.

However, surprisingly, facing this ironclad evidence, the official side of Country A had absolutely no response, neither admitting nor denying, assuming a posture of being completely unfazed.

Instead, on the internet within Eastern Country, after the official report was released, it completely exploded.

A more surging, more organized wave of public opinion swept across all social platforms.

Countless newly registered accounts, and some long-silent big V accounts, as if they had agreed, began to frantically set the narrative at the same time.

Their rhetoric was surprisingly consistent, just clinging to that ”one percent” AI rate.

They started to frantically set the narrative, saying that the one percent AI rate meant there was a high possibility it wasn’t done by AI, but that Professor Liu himself wanted to stay in Country A.

”Right, exactly.”

”I think that’s what happened!”

”This Professor Liu is just a traitor.”

”A traitor!”

According to the general law of how things develop, in the face of such obviously intellectually-insulting remarks that swap concepts and violate scientific common sense, someone would definitely stand up to refute them.

And indeed, someone did refute them.

However, as soon as these rational voices appeared, it was like it was premeditated, they were drowned out by more, crazier agreeing comments.

”Those who refute are just whitewashing, did you get paid?”

”The truth is right before our eyes, and there are still people speaking for the traitor?”

For a time, overwhelming condemnation and abuse drowned out all clarifications and explanations.

The entire internet public opinion field gave people a feeling that this Professor Liu had really become a traitor, a banana trash who grew up in the country, received countless honors, enjoyed the country’s top-tier treatment, but had his heart set on Country A and ultimately chose to betray.

And some ordinary Netizens who didn’t know the truth, after seeing these overwhelming remarks, were also led astray, unable to distinguish between true and false, and all indignantly followed the trend to scold this Professor Liu.
