Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 483 My Brother Cut Me in the Head and I Successfully Set SailInside the Joint Task Force frontline command post, the air was unsettlingly quiet.

The colonel from the Joint Task Force remained in a rigid standing posture, his right hand still suspended in mid-air, holding a coffee cup.

A ”gurgling” sound came from his throat, but he couldn’t even spit out a single complete swear word.

On the big screen, the monitoring windows had all turned into a screen full of static.

The crackling sound of static noise seemed particularly piercing in the empty hall.

After a long while, the colonel’s stalled brain finally managed to resume functioning.

He slammed the ceramic coffee cup in his hand heavily onto the table beside him.

Brown liquid splashed out, staining his neat collar, but he didn’t care at all.

He strode over to the data console in front and grabbed the collar of the operator responsible for drone telemetry.

”Tell me, what exactly is going on?”

The colonel gritted his teeth, his saliva spraying onto the other man’s tactical helmet.

The operator was drenched in sweat, terrified by his superior’s man-eating expression.

He swallowed a mouthful of dry saliva and typed rapidly on the keyboard.

He pulled up the last segment of background data stream transmitted via the data link just before the drone crashed.

Looking at the code logs scrolling on the monitor, the operator’s expression turned extremely bizarre.

Even his facial muscles were twitching uncontrollably.

”Sir... this... this situation is just too...”

The operator stammered, pointing to a red warning code on the screen.

”After our reconnaissance drone lowered its altitude, the optical detection module on its underside locked onto those balloons rising into the air. Then, the automatic recognition protocol was triggered by the square matrices on the surface of those balloons.”

Taking a deep breath, the operator tried to make his voice sound steadier as he explained the specific situation.

”The system automatically parsed it as an external link, and then... it redirected to a wallpaper download page.”

Upon hearing this report, the anger on the colonel’s face froze for a moment. He stared blankly at the operator.

His train of thought felt as if it had been smashed to pieces by a speeding heavy truck.

What the hell? His own cutting-edge military drone went to scan a few crappy balloons, and then the drone’s backend control module started downloading wallpaper software?

”Are you messing with me?”

Releasing his grip, the colonel pressed his hands onto the console, his eyes full of disbelief.

The operator wiped the cold sweat from his face and quickly switched the data panel to an intuitive process usage chart, explaining.

”Sir, since we are using military broadband, the bandwidth is huge. That software finished downloading in almost a second. Moreover, this thing came with a tyrannical, rogue protocol. After it installed, it immediately triggered associated download commands, starting to continuously download other software under this company.”

On the screen, the bar chart representing the processor’s RAM usage soared directly to the 100% red warning line within just a few seconds.

”Massive data packets instantly clogged the RAM channels, causing the flight control module to be unable to receive feedback commands, so it just froze. The engine lost balance adjustment, which caused the engine to stall, and then it fell straight out of the sky.”

Listening to this magical explanation of the principles, the colonel was completely dumbfounded.

In the mind of this Country A officer, an aircraft capable of being shot down on the battlefield should either have been blown up in mid-air by enemy anti-aircraft missiles or encountered high-power electromagnetic pulse coverage.

But what about now? It was actually because the system backend downloaded rogue software, causing insufficient RAM, which forcibly froze it in mid-air?

A situation where a machine was destroyed because of downloading rogue software was simply rubbing their military technology into the ground repeatedly.

If this matter were exposed, those opposition politicians and international competitors would probably laugh until their back teeth showed.

This was a public insult to the Air Force of a superpower!

Feeling his blood pressure shooting straight to his head, the colonel’s chest heaved violently.

Just as he was about to slam the table and rage, ordering someone to immediately cut the data link to the reconnaissance drone in front, a chaotic sound of footsteps came from the information processing area at the back of the hall.

A staff member, holding a military tablet, stumbled over quickly. The man’s military cap was even tilted, his face full of terror.

”Sir! Sir! We’re in big trouble!”

The person in charge shouted anxiously, ”It’s not just the equipment that crashed in front; our backend is also downloading things like crazy!”

As soon as these words were spoken, it was as if to verify his report. In fact, at this moment, there was no need for this person in charge to waste any more breath describing the details; the colonel already knew.

Because, directly in front of their command center hall, that big screen occupying an entire wall, usually used to display radar bearings and battlefield strategic situations, saw the static in those dozens of monitoring windows suddenly disappear without warning.

Replacing them was an absurd image that made one’s scalp tingle.

On the big screen, those system process prompt boxes popped up like mushrooms after rain. They were all continuously downloading software crazily. Accompanying the rapidly filling download progress bars, it wasn’t just software; there were also various online games. Online game pop-ups were flying everywhere!

In those high-power tactical speakers of the command post, which originally played static from communication channels, a low-quality background sound effect full of plastic feel and heavy metal rock flavor suddenly blared.

In the center of the big screen, a low-quality 3D game character model, wearing gaudy golden armor and holding a glowing machete, was directly ”riding in the face.”

A line of huge, flashing, multicolored Chinese characters dominated the entire radar map: ”Brother, slash me once! If you’re a brother, come and play!”

At this moment, ”Brother, Slash Me Once” successfully went global.

That wasn’t all. Accompanied by this impassioned line, several flashing floating windows popped up on both sides of the screen. There were even several ads for adult websites with extremely revealing art styles. Virtually scantily clad beauties writhed at the edges of the screen, and coy, suggestive sound effects wafted back and forth in the solemn military hall: ”Master, come play~”

This outrageous audiovisual assault turned all the officers and staff in the command center into wooden statues.

Everyone held their files, staring dumbfounded at the tactical screen usually used to command thousands of troops. The current image looked exactly like a computer in a poorly managed internet cafe that had been infected with a full-suite Trojan horse.

The person in charge, with a mournful face, continued to report even more despairing news. Because their frontline base’s network architecture used an intranet LAN series connection, the port had been completely open to receive the reconnaissance drone’s data stream. As a result, this thing was like a mudslide spreading along the network cables.

And it wasn’t just their command center hall. Throughout the entire Joint Task Force base, every office connected to this network—whether it was the logistics department’s supply settlement computers or the intelligence analysis section’s terminal servers—all started downloading like crazy at the same time!

The entire base’s local network bandwidth was instantly drained, and all normal military communications fell into a paralyzed state.

Looking at the game character on the screen holding a machete, and listening to the low-quality sound effects coming to his ears, the veins on the colonel’s forehead throbbed. His blood vessels bulged, as if they would burst at any moment.

This feeling of being wantonly trampled upon in his own lair was even more unbearable than being slapped in the face ten times.

”Find me someone immediately!” Turning around, he let out a thunderous roar at the adjutant beside him. ”Call the people from the Cybersecurity Department over here!”

Following this roar, the adjutant shivered all over, scrambled toward the internal communication console in the corner, grabbed the microphone, and started calling frantically.

The entire hall was in chaos, with only the low-quality browser game sound effects on the big screens echoing heartlessly.

The waiting process was absolute torture for the colonel. He paced back and forth, his military boots making dull sounds on the floor.

A few minutes later, the automatic sliding door on the side of the command post slid open. A young man wearing a white shirt and carrying a silver metal equipment case walked quickly into the hall.

This Technical Expert pushed up the black-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. He took one look at the screen full of ads and the messy software processes. Far from looking panicked, his face revealed a very strong sense of confidence.

The colonel strode forward, grabbed the man’s arm, and pulled him to the console. Suppressing the anger in his heart, the colonel asked this Technical Expert with a cold face.

”Tell me! How long will it take to completely eliminate this virus that has invaded our base?”
