Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 484 One-Minute Show-Off Backfires! This Rogue Software Is Unstoppable!Hearing the Colonel’s question.

The Technical Expert appeared very professional.

He was not immediately thrown off by the deafening, vulgar browser game advertisements playing all around him.

Instead, he calmly reached out and adjusted the black-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose.

His gaze swept across the unsightly pop-ups on the big screen.

Afterward.

He turned his head and answered in a steady tone.

”Strictly speaking, this is not a virus, but a feature of bundled software from a product under a cybersecurity company.”

The Colonel frowned deeply.

What do you mean it’s not a virus?

If it’s not a virus, how could it paralyze the entire network of the Joint Task Force frontline base like this?

As if seeing through his superior’s confusion.

The Technical Expert displayed a confident smile at the corner of his mouth and continued to explain.

He stated that he had long heard of this 370 Cybersecurity Company from the Eastern Country and was well-versed in their tactics.

”This is a piece of rogue software called Little Chicken Wallpaper under this cybersecurity company.”

”After downloading this wallpaper, the bundled software feature inside will frantically download a series of other products from the same company.”

Listening to this clear and logical explanation.

The Colonel’s blood pressure, which had already soared to the critical point, eased slightly.

As long as the cause could be identified.

With the skills of this top Expert sent by The Pentagon, wouldn’t dealing with this kind of civilian-level rogue software be a piece of cake?

The other staff officers in the command hall also cast hopeful glances at the Expert.

...

Facing the gazes of everyone around him.

The Technical Expert didn’t waste any more breath.

As he spoke, he crouched down halfway.

He deftly opened the silver metal equipment case he had brought with him.

He took out a specialized laptop from inside.

This was a military-grade device specifically issued for handling complex cyber warfare.

It had the world’s most advanced underlying firewall and an independent security sandbox built-in.

The Expert placed the laptop steadily on the console.

He connected it directly to the base’s core switch network cable.

The screen lit up.

Then, the Technical Expert sat up straight.

He placed his hands on the keyboard, and his ten fingers flew across the keys.

The crisp sound of typing was particularly clear in the noisy hall.

As lines of complex blocking code were entered.

He seemed to be using his proprietary privileges to establish an indestructible electronic barrier, attempting to clear the virus and cut off the endless download links.

Time ticked by second by second.

The Colonel rested his hands on the edge of the console.

He didn’t even dare to blink, afraid of missing the moment the system returned to normal.

Then.

After typing for a while.

The Technical Expert forcefully hit the Enter key with his right index finger.

He stopped his movements.

He leaned back in his chair, looking extremely relaxed and comfortable.

Then, he formally answered the question the Colonel had asked earlier.

”As for how long it will take me to solve it.”

As he spoke, he slowly raised his right hand.

He held up one finger in mid-air.

This gesture exuded an air of confident victory.

Seeing the other party’s gesture, the Colonel’s eyes lit up.

He was overjoyed.

His originally tense nerves instantly relaxed.

He thought they were finally saved!

’What does one finger represent? One hour? Or one minute.’

’Worthy of being a technical elite, the efficiency is truly amazing,’ this thought appeared in his mind.

...

Then, the Colonel saw the Technical Expert retract that finger.

Seeing this scene,

he asked in surprise: ”Is it solved already?”

The next second, he saw the Technical Expert stiffly shake his head.

His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.

Then he said with an embarrassed face: ”Well, um, Colonel, my computer has also been hacked.”

As soon as these words were spoken.

The air around the entire console went silent.

Just a moment ago.

Originally, when he held up a finger, he had wanted to show off, indicating it would take one minute.

In his professional judgment, dealing with this kind of low-tech rogue pop-up wouldn’t take any effort at all.

But just when he stopped typing to clear the software that couldn’t be uninstalled in the base.

That is, the moment he held up a finger.

His peripheral vision inadvertently glanced at his own laptop screen.

Right in the bottom right corner of his pride-and-joy, supposedly absolutely secure, specialized military computer.

A green installation progress bar popped up without warning.

Immediately after.

His computer started downloading Little Chicken Wallpaper!

Those rogue data packets that should have been blocked by the firewall he established.

Had actually traveled along the network cable.

And reverse-infiltrated into the underlying logic of his device!

...

Following the Expert’s embarrassed gaze.

The Colonel also lowered his head.

He clearly saw a pattern of a stylish boy with a center-part hairstyle playing basketball on the screen of that military-grade laptop.

Not only that.

Several familiar browser game advertisements popped up on the desktop one after another.

Then, the Colonel was completely dumbfounded.

The corners of his mouth twitched violently.

He was speechless to the extreme.

Just now, this kid acted so professionally when adjusting his glasses.

His theories were so well-articulated.

Yet, turning around, your own computer started frantically downloading software!

So all your fierce operations.

Not only failed to save the base’s network.

But you even got yourself dragged into it!

This absurd feeling of being slapped in the face in front of everyone.

Left the Colonel unable to even find the words to curse.

He could only stare blankly at the progress bar that was still increasing download tasks.

...

And as the saying goes, one man’s loss is another man’s gain.

Crossing the ocean.

Eastern Country.

Inside an office building in the center of a bustling metropolis.

370 Group Building.

In the office area of the Little Chicken Wallpaper business unit.

The atmosphere here formed a stark contrast with the other bustling R&D departments in the group.

The air was filled with a listless, ”lying flat” vibe.

A few employees were chatting together, and some were even using cardboard boxes to pack up their personal belongings.

At this moment.

The staff member who had previously contacted Li Jiajun was holding a mug printed with the company logo.

Sitting at his workstation.

His face was full of sorrow.

He listlessly held the mouse and habitually refreshed the company’s backend data monitoring page.

He originally just wanted to kill some time at work.

However.

The moment the page reloaded.

His hand holding the mouse suddenly froze.

His eyes widened bit by bit.

He saw an incredible scene.

He saw that the overseas download volume for their Little Chicken Wallpaper in the backend had actually started to rise.

You have to know.

In the past six months or so.

The data line for this metric had always been like the ECG of a dying person, flat without any fluctuations.

But now.

In the blink of an eye.

It had increased by hundreds of downloads in the blink of an eye.

...

Looking at the jumping numbers on the screen.

This staff member was also dumbfounded for a moment.

He even suspected whether there was some statistical glitch with the company’s server.

He put down his water cup and brought his face close to the monitor.

He carefully checked the sources of those IP addresses.

He discovered that they were all uniform unknown overseas nodes.

Moreover.

Although it was only a few hundred downloads, the number didn’t sound particularly huge.

But looking at this momentum, the growth curve was explosive!

On the data trend chart.

The line representing new overseas users.

Was climbing crazily on the chart at an almost 90-degree vertical angle.

This explosive growth, which defied conventional promotional patterns.

Caused the employee’s heart rate to suddenly accelerate.

In his mind, the business contract signed not long ago with that Factory Director Li from Baishui City instantly appeared.

And you have to know.

Actually, the reason why they really went to look for Factory Director Li for business after Wang Dachui found them was full of bitterness and helplessness.

It was simply because their Little Chicken Wallpaper had already become notorious.

As the recognized ceiling of rogue bundled software among domestic netizens.

Anyone who has surfed the internet in the Eastern Country, who hasn’t suffered because of it?

Because it was notorious, it was destined to have no room for development.

The domestic market had already been completely killed off by themselves.

And precisely because of this.

They were destined not to cause any bad things.

So, naturally, they weren’t afraid of Factory Director Li’s reputation as the ”Militia General” who always gets requisitioned.

After all.

A piece of junk software that makes computer wallpapers.

No matter how bad its reputation is.

It couldn’t possibly be related to requisitioning, and it was even less likely to attract an official investigation.

This was the confidence behind their daring to brave the spotlight and cooperate with Li Family Toy Factory.

...

And another reason was.

Because their Little Chicken Wallpaper was notorious, its development could almost be said to have reached its end.

So their business unit simply didn’t need so many people anymore.

Recently.

The department was in a state of panic.

There were even rumors that their 370 Group already had plans to dissolve their business unit.

Facing the crisis of impending collective unemployment.

The leaders of the business unit were holding a ”treat a dead horse as if it were alive” mentality.

Taking the last little bit of promotional budget on the books.

They also wanted to achieve some results.

Even if it was only to earn a little insignificant exposure, at least they could produce a PPT showing they were still working hard to open up new channels when reporting to the group’s senior management at the end of the year.

Anyway, combining these two factors.

That’s why they approached Factory Director Li.

And signed that ground promotion agreement that even they themselves didn’t have much hope for.

At that time, hearing that the other party wanted to take balloons with QR codes abroad to release them.

Everyone in the office was complaining privately, feeling that this advertising money would definitely go down the drain.

But they didn’t expect that after finding Factory Director Li, that seemingly extremely unreliable ground promotion plan of releasing balloons.

Actually seemed to be giving their Little Chicken Wallpaper a second lease on life.
