Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 721: Chapter 719: Letter from Fang Kang

Gu Xi actually didn’t have many thoughts about whether the Illusion Magic Wand could be upgraded to Orange Armor.

After all, he already had two pieces of Orange Armor in hand.

Gu Xi didn’t believe that his luck was so good to get a part of an Orange Armor component from hitting a Lower World.

So Gu Xi just considered the Illusion Magic Wand as a pretty decent Purple Armor and didn’t think much of it.

After modifying the Illusion Magic Wand to suit his needs, Gu Xi left with the Magic Staff in hand.

The blacksmith and others didn’t think much about Gu Xi’s attitude, only thinking that Gu Xi unintentionally got a Purple Armor with good attributes.

Neither Gu Xi nor the blacksmiths thought much of it.

Even after Gu Xi returned to his dormitory and relaxed for a few days, he completely forgot about this issue.

It wasn’t until five days later, upon receiving a reply from Fang Kang, that Gu Xi snapped back from his intense relaxation.

Stretching his body, Gu Xi looked dissatisfied at his Fitness Skill Level; he did not forget to exercise even during this break, which was a good thing.

Then Gu Xi couldn’t help but frown.

The letter just delivered by a crow contained a detailed message from Fang Kang.

He explained his current situation with some difficulty.

Just as Gu Xi had thought, Fang Kang wasn’t a player from Bailian City; in fact, his city was quite far from Bailian City.

Letters could be delivered since there is indeed some connection between each city.

Plus, with dedicated messengers now in place, there were no issues.

However, conducting inter-city trade might be somewhat difficult.

If it’s just one or two cities apart, it’s fine. However, if the distance is too great, the goods might be lost on the way.

Moreover, their relationship wasn’t that good, so some items are best traded face to face.

Therefore, trade between Gu Xi and Fang Kang might not be easy to achieve.

Of course, Fang Kang didn’t outright refuse.

He suggested that either Gu Xi should leave his city to trade face to face in a neutral city.

Or, he offered a game coordinate, and they could trade in the game.

Anyway, Fang Kang already provided the trading methods; whether or not to trade and how to trade now depended on Gu Xi’s own decision.

Gu Xi initially wrote to Fang Kang with a nonchalant attitude, uncertain if anything would happen.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi hesitated.

He had never left Bailian City.

About the outside, he only knew of Qiufeng City and Cold Leaf City upstream and downstream of White Silk Lake.

Other cities he only read about in geographic books; how each city is like, he had no idea.

As for going to the designated game, Gu Xi didn’t mind much, given his current strength, players of his level couldn’t defeat him; stronger ones, he might not even encounter.

Since he relaxed for a few days, he might as well go and check out the game world.

Even if the game doesn’t align with the Undead direction, it wasn’t a big deal for Gu Xi.

Exploring different game worlds could be a good thing for Gu Xi at times.

Thus, Gu Xi decisively decided to trade with Fang Kang in the game.

Thinking as he did this, Gu Xi quickly wrote his decision into a letter and handed it back to the crow who delivered the previous message to send out again.

The crow looked at Gu Xi for a moment, then finally picked up the letter and flew away.

Watching the crow fly away, a thought crossed Gu Xi’s mind.

Should he raise some messengers capable of cross-city delivery?

Relying on just his own owl and crow, the delivery effect seemed to start deteriorating.

This current issue was just an exception.

But what about next time?

Gu Xi doesn’t want to encounter situations where communication takes five to six days for a response.

Such slow exchanges were really inconvenient.

It would be best if the messengers could deliver and return on the same day.

With this in mind, Gu Xi decided to skip today’s relaxation and forgo watching the little girl training on the downstairs balcony, heading straight to the Radiant Library to see if there was any corresponding information.

Although Gu Xi currently had many Architectural Design Plans for Libraries and Magic Towers.

Five days weren’t enough to build a Library City of his own.

Moreover, what Gu Xi needed to check related to some player-related information.

Even if Gu Xi had a sufficiently large Library City, this aspect might still be lacking.

Of course, the library at the Mysterious Academy might have some player-related information too.

But the direction was clearly off, as the four majors taught at the Mysterious Academy didn’t involve studying messengers.

No matter how high Gu Xi’s status was at the Mysterious Academy, he couldn’t produce the corresponding content.

Conversely, the Chaoyang Radiance Guild might have some resources to check.

Gu Xi wasn’t looking for a Forbidden Curse or a method to tame the Three-legged Crow; he believed there was no reason not to find the corresponding materials.

So, with his decision made, Gu Xi decisively headed to the library to look up information on this matter.

In Gu Xi’s view, he actually had many kinds of flying creatures at his disposal, including crows and bats.

He could also use flying centipedes and stone golems for flying.

If possible, Gu Xi actually had a considerable variety of options for selecting messengers.

However, once at the Radiant Library, Gu Xi noticed something was off.

There were indeed some other players researching different messengers here.

But the problem was that their research results were not as good as Gu Xi’s Owl House.

At least the owl could deliver messages across different games.

Wherever Gu Xi had influence, the owl could deliver letters there.

Whereas the messengers the players studied merely improved in stealth or flight speed.

In other aspects, they simply did not stand out.

It seemed evident that they were studying messengers to ensure the safe delivery of letters.

Faced with such a situation, Gu Xi wondered if they had encountered some unusual events before researching these messengers.

Otherwise, why would they have such an idea?

In the end, Gu Xi found only the construction method for mailboxes in the Radiant Library.

This tool, which could hardly be considered architecture, was indeed the starting point for many players studying messengers.

Only with mailboxes built can their trained messengers have a place to reside, and can reliably deliver to the mailbox when the letter owner is not present.

This situation left Gu Xi quite troubled.

In this perplexing state, another three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Fang Kang’s reply arrived.
