Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Lodan’s cooking haunted everyone’s souls. The believers’ eyes gradually glowed with an eerie red light, as if their entire beings were immersed in that pot of meat soup.

Yang Xinxin stood right beside Zhang Yi’s left hand. Seeing this, she couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh.

”What’s wrong?”

Zhang Yi asked curiously.

Yang Xinxin said, ”I’ve read history. This scene reminds me of Yuan Chonghuan from the late Ming Dynasty.”

”Back then, after failing to defend the border, he was sentenced to death by a thousand cuts by the Chongzhen Emperor. When he finally died, the common people around him were also cheering and celebrating.”

”I was thinking, indeed, all history is modern history. Only by witnessing this scene firsthand do I realize how shocking it is.”

Zhang Yi took a deep breath and did not comment further on the matter.

In chaotic times, human life has always been as cheap as grass.

After Lodan completed the sky burials for all the resistance army members, the tens of thousands of believers present each received a bowl of the meat soup.

They gazed at the soup in their hands with reverence, greedily gulping it down in large mouthfuls.

As the scalding hot liquid flowed down their throats, the sizzling, oily sensation brought tears to their eyes.

In their hearts, they felt gratitude towards the monks of Sangha Monastery, thanked the Lord of the Charnel Ground, and thanked the great chieftains of the West.

The sense of reverence in each person’s heart grew even heavier.

So, after finishing their soup, they prostrated themselves on the ground, kowtowing to express their gratitude to Sangha Monastery.

Only Zhang Yi and his few companions silently isolated themselves from the outside air.

Because this soul-snatching aroma, which was a delicacy to others, made them feel nauseous and want to vomit.

After the meat soup sharing segment ended, Zhang Yi received a message from Liang Yue.

They had already taken their people far away.

Zhang Yi glanced around and simply said to her, ”Wait for my message.”

When the ceremony concluded, Deji called the heads of the three families over. It seemed they were going to hold a meeting to discuss today’s events.

Zhang Yi said to Pagyi Gesang, ”We’ve seen the spectacle. Next, we’ll just wait for the Demon Kingdom Gate to open. The weather is quite cold, so we’ll head back now.”

The Prayer Festival was to last for three consecutive days, with various complex procedures in between.

Pagyi Gesang also held a title within the esoteric sect, so he couldn’t leave.

He then said, ”Alright then. Please take your time on your way back. Rest and recuperate well at home these next few days. If you need anything, just let us know.”

Zhang Yi nodded, then immediately took his people and left Sangha Monastery.

Zhang Yi didn’t waste any time. After putting some distance between them, he directly opened a spatial portal and sent the others back to the Pagyi Family.

”Wait here for a while. I’ll be back soon.”

After saying this to them, Zhang Yi immediately opened the Dimensional Gate and teleported towards the location Liang Yue had provided.

...

At that moment, Liang Yue and Mu Yan were at one of the resistance army’s camps.

Here, they witnessed the miserable living conditions of the resistance army.

Compared to the serf camps under the chieftain families, the living conditions here were not any better.

Everyone also had to labor for survival, contributing their share of effort.

The only difference was that here, they could live like human beings. No one would whip them.

If they got injured, someone would treat them, not slaughter them like cattle or sheep.

As soon as Bamo returned, she was welcomed by everyone.

The resistance army members crowded around Bamo, their eyes filled with the most sincere admiration.

As the number two figure in the resistance army, Bamo was the savior for most people here.

As an Epsilon, the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle’s every move could easily alert the Lord of the Charnel Ground. Therefore, most daily missions were led by Bamo.

”Sister Bamo, it’s so great that you’re safe!”

Several young girls, tears streaming down their faces, rushed into Bamo’s arms, hugging her and crying loudly.

Bamo looked at them with maternal affection, gently stroking their heads.

”To save me, many comrades sacrificed themselves.”

Her voice carried a note of sorrow as she spoke.

Everyone’s expressions also turned somber. This operation had cost at least a hundred lives, and among them were many of the resistance army’s elite.

Soon, Bamo raised her head, her gaze sharp and unwavering, without a trace of self-doubt or hesitation.

”However, I will carry their beliefs forward and continue to overthrow the evil rule of the chieftains! I will let the light of peace illuminate the entire Snowy Plateau Region!”

Bamo alone being alive was more valuable than a thousand resistance army members.

Though no one said it out loud, everyone understood this truth deep down.

People have never been equal. Those with greater abilities have always held more significant meaning within an organization.

Bamo was not a hypocritical person. She wouldn’t say things like, ”So many comrades died to save me, I really should die.”

She would only work even harder, maximizing her own value, carrying on the share of those fallen comrades as well.

Only then would the sacrifices of those comrades not be in vain.

Liang Yue and Jingwei looked at these resistance army members, ragged in clothing but with eyes full of hopeful light, and felt a sense of respect arise within them.

A powerful ability user like Bamo would receive preferential treatment in any faction within the Southwest Region, if she so wished.

She could have easily obtained everything she desired, yet she chose to walk the most difficult path for the sake of the justice in her heart.

”Though ten thousand stand against me, I will go.” Such a spirit was worthy of admiration.

Liang Yue walked up to Bamo and extended her right hand. ”We were in a hurry earlier and didn’t have time for introductions. My name is...”

Just as she was about to give her name, Mu Yan tugged at her clothes from behind.

Liang Yue then remembered Zhang Yi’s instructions and changed her words, saying, ”You can call me B.”

Bamo shook Liang Yue’s hand, looking at her sincerely. ”Thank you so much for your help, Miss B!”

Liang Yue and Mu Yan discussed briefly and gave them some of the supplies they were carrying.

These were just some food, clothing, and fuel.

These were items they carried with them for emergencies. Although not a huge amount, for the struggling resistance army, they were extremely important resources.

The people here were overjoyed, looking at the two women with eyes full of respect.

”Bamo, Drolma, it’s time to discuss our matter.”

Mu Yan walked over and said to the two of them.

Bamo nodded. ”On the way here, Drolma already told me. Since you helped us as promised, we will also fulfill our commitment.”

”Is it convenient to call him over?”

Mu Yan looked at the resistance army members in the camp and asked.

Bamo nodded. ”Yes. You have now earned our trust.”

For the resistance army, the most important thing was the survival of their superhuman cadres. They were the seeds. As long as they lived, the flame of the resistance army would not be extinguished.

Zhang Yi and his group helping them escape from the great chieftains of the West and Sangha Monastery was the best proof of sincerity, worthy of their trust.
