Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

The square before Sangha Monastery was enormous. The execution platform for the sky burial ritual was still a considerable distance away from Zhang Yi and the others.

Moreover, even if the resistance army charged over, they weren’t afraid.

Zhang Yi maintained his spectator’s demeanor, but his attention was entirely focused on the golden-winged superhuman flying in the sky.

”Snow Mountain Divine Eagle.”

Zhang Yi murmured softly.

The appearance of the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle instantly made the expressions of those present much graver.

And at this moment, the Lord of the Charnel Ground, who had been sitting upright on the Dharma platform all along, finally stood up.

”Sigh—”

Everyone present seemed to hear a sigh in their ears.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground looked towards the figure high in the sky. It was as if two powerful wills were clashing against each other in the air.

That wasn’t an ability, purely the immense pressure emanating from two Epsilon-level superhumans, which paled the faces of most people present.

Zhang Yi pretended to be intimidated, taking half a step back, while his gaze swept through the crowd.

Sure enough, beside La Min Ouzhu, he spotted a tall figure, easily over six feet.

That person stood with arms crossed, showing not a trace of fear even when facing two Epsilons. Instead, a flicker of excitement shone in his eyes.

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle spread his massive golden wings. In an instant, countless golden rays shot out like sharp blades, launching an indiscriminate attack across the entire square!

The people from the Four Great Families, including the venerable monks of Sangha Monastery, were without exception all enveloped within the range of the golden blades!

”Stop.”

The Lord of the Charnel Ground spoke unhurriedly. Facing the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle’s fierce and overwhelming assault, he merely gave a gentle wave of his hand.

Immediately, those terrifying billions of golden blades seemed to crash against an invisible wall, blocked outside the entire square.

”Jue Guo, if you don’t want too many people to die here, follow me!”

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle spoke, then with a flap of his wings, he shot towards the distance.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground did not hesitate, decisively leaping into the air.

He transformed into a streak of golden light. Although he couldn’t fly, he lightly stepped on the bodies of believers one after another, chasing after the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle.

He had to accept this duel. Otherwise, he simply couldn’t protect everyone present.

Just as they departed, a faint smile curled at the corner of Zhang Yi’s lips.

”Isn’t this creating the perfect opportunity for me?”

With the Lord of the Charnel Ground not here, there was nothing the people of Sangha Monastery could do to stop him now, whatever he chose to do.

However, Zhang Yi wouldn’t act openly. After all, secretly, there were still two other Epsilon-level superhumans lying in wait.

Zhang Yi looked from afar towards the sky burial platform.

The surrounding battle rapidly escalated to a fever pitch.

No one knew how many explosives the resistance army had planted around the square. Combined with the massive, chaotic crowd, the monk soldiers and private soldiers on the periphery found it difficult to provide support.

For a moment, they truly managed to charge near the sky burial platform.

The surrounding sky burial masters were already frightened out of their wits, but Luodan seemed completely unfazed, still meticulously and unhurriedly dismembering the resistance fighter’s body.

In just a few minutes, under his masterful blade work, the resistance fighter’s body was completely dissected.

Only at the very end did Luodan reach out, pinch a handful of salt from the dish beside him, rub his fingers, and sprinkle it over the body that was now little more than a skeleton and entrails.

Stimulated by the salt, the eyeballs in that horrific body actually rolled twice.

Luodan nodded with satisfaction, then finally ended the man’s life with a swing of his blade.

Then, unhurriedly, he stood up, walked over to the large pot nearby, and began slowly stirring the meat inside.

Watching this scene, Zhang Yi couldn’t help but think to himself: This chef is truly a ruthless character.

Just at that moment, Liang Yue behind him lightly touched Zhang Yi.

Zhang Yi understood. Liang Yue was asking him if they should act.

Zhang Yi gave a faint smile. In his right eye, light began to subtly distort.

The next moment, the arm-thick chains binding the resistance fighters on the execution racks all simultaneously snapped apart with a loud clatter!

They fell from the high execution racks to the ground, struggling desperately to get up.

Each of them had just witnessed their comrade being dismembered. The terrifying look in their eyes seemed ready to devour someone.

Their bodies were too weak, and they had been injected with drugs. At this moment, they could barely use any abilities.

Yet they still struggled fiercely, charging forward to fight the soldiers on the sky burial platform.

Drugs could suppress abilities, but there was one type of superhuman with extremely high drug resistance: the reinforcement-type superhumans.

Because their ability was to enhance their own physical bodies, a permanent mutation.

On the sky burial platform, many resistance fighters, now freed from their chains, immediately used the thick chains as weapons. Working from within and without, they coordinated with their rescuers, battling the private soldiers and monks.

”Boom!”

...

The explosions around the square created massive chaos, and the escape of the prisoners made Deji’s face turn ugly.

He sprang up from his chair, shouting at the chieftains of the other three families, including Pagyi, ”What are you waiting for? Hurry up and order your men to come support!”

Pagyi Gesang wore an expression of anxiety. ”Khenpo, all our men are stationed outside. We only brought a few guards for personal protection. We can’t spare any hands!”

He had over a dozen superhumans by his side, all the most valiant and skilled fighters.

Not to mention Zhang Yi and his group were also there, absolutely capable of ensuring his safety.

But now, facing the resistance army’s assault, he didn’t dare take the risk.

Even the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle had appeared. If he wasn’t careful and left himself underprotected, what if he died?

This was Sangha Monastery’s territory. Let Deji’s men fight the resistance army. It would be good to deplete their forces.

La Min Ouzhu and Xia Zha Gyatso expressed the same stance, refusing to dispatch their personal guards to provide support.

Although there were large numbers of troops stationed on the periphery, no one had anticipated the chaos erupting from within.

If not for the massive explosions at the venue, the personnel they had kept here would have been more than enough to handle everything.

And with tens of thousands of believers in panic, the troops outside simply couldn’t force their way in to engage the enemy.

Furthermore, Drolma was driving the Snowy Region’s wolf packs to attack them, so they also had to send people to hold them off.

With the Four Great Families mutually restraining each other, none willing to send their personal guards into the fight, it bought time for the resistance army.

They quickly fought their way to the vicinity of the sky burial platform.

Seeing that the sky burial ritual could no longer proceed, Luodan no longer hesitated. He packed up his tools, slung them at his waist, then turned and left.

When the resistance fighters saw Luodan, the hatred in their eyes was incredibly intense.

As the chief sky burial master, countless resistance comrades, including leaders, had died by Luodan’s hand.

What made Luodan most notorious was his use of human beings as ingredients to cook delicacies, thereby cultivating a habit of cannibalism among the Snowy Region’s upper echelons.

Where those above have a taste, those below will indulge even more. This phenomenon, trickling down from the top, had made countless people become food in others’ bellies.

On the resistance army’s kill list, Luodan ranked fifth, just below the chieftains of the Four Great Families!
