Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi basically understood the other party’s purpose.

He wasn’t very interested in the internal affairs of the Southwest Region. As long as they didn’t interfere with his plans, he didn’t care about anything else.

”What benefits can you offer me?”

He asked indifferently.

Drolma gritted her teeth and stared at Zhang Yi. ”What do you want to get?”

The conditions of the resistance army were extremely harsh. After all, the Southwest Region had long been carved up cleanly by the Four Great Families.

They were struggling to even get a full meal now.

So, what they could offer Zhang Yi couldn’t just be described as pitifully little; it was practically non-existent.

Zhang Yi smiled. ”You came to ask for our help, yet you don’t know what you should offer to show sincerity?”

Drolma’s expression turned somewhat ugly.

”We... we...”

We have nothing decent to offer.

She truly couldn’t bring herself to say that sentence.

Seeing her embarrassed state, Zhang Yi didn’t press her further.

”It’s not impossible for us to help. However, I need to meet your leader!”

Drolma’s gaze immediately turned sharp.

”You want to meet our leader?”

The leader of the resistance army, nicknamed the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle.

He was the one who organized the resistance army, the spiritual pillar of all resistance fighters.

Over the past two years, the great chieftains of the West and Sangha Monastery had been searching for the whereabouts of the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle.

As long as they captured him, the resistance army would naturally collapse.

”That’s right, I want to meet the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle,”

Zhang Yi said.

”This... this is not something I can decide.”

Drolma initially wanted to refuse, but considering Liang Yue’s strength, their leader must be even stronger.

If these people later joined the encirclement and suppression against them, it would be like adding frost to snow for the current resistance army.

”As you wish,”

Zhang Yi said. ”Anyway, we’ll meet soon enough.”

After saying that, he said to Liang Yue, ”Let’s go back!”

Liang Yue looked at Drolma. Drolma said, ”I will go back and report this matter to our leader! If possible, I will send you a message.”

Liang Yue nodded. ”Alright, I’ll wait for your answer.”

Liang Yue followed Zhang Yi and left.

Not long after, they returned to Pagyi Gesang’s large courtyard without anyone noticing.

After returning, Liang Yue asked about Zhang Yi’s intentions.

”Zhang Yi, why do you suddenly want to meet their leader?”

Zhang Yi said, ”Originally, I was just going over to watch the excitement. After all, a group of poor and weak people can’t pose any real threat to Sangha Monastery. With the Lord of the Charnel Ground holding the fort, all resistance is meaningless.”

”Not only are they no match in terms of martial power, but even the followers of the esoteric sect in the Snowy Plateau Region wouldn’t follow them in rebelling against the Lord of the Charnel Ground, right?”

”However, I suddenly thought of something very interesting.”

A meaningful smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Liang Yue was somewhat puzzled.

”What exactly is it then?”

Yang Xinxin provided the answer.

”Brother Yi suspects that the leader of the resistance army is the Golden-Winged Superhuman who appeared at the foot of the Great Snow Mountain that night.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Zhang Yi’s actions immediately became perfectly reasonable.

These resistance army people were just minor characters in Zhang Yi’s eyes.

However, if there was an Epsilon-level superhuman among them, that would be a different story.

Zhang Yi took a sip of tea and said calmly, ”A person’s name might be very different from the actual person, but a person’s nickname never lies.”

”Snow Mountain Divine Eagle. This title doesn’t come out of thin air. Unless he has displayed some similar trait, for example, being a Beastman Type, a bird-type superhuman.”

”This matches the Golden-Winged Superhuman I saw that night.”

”And the fact that the resistance army has been able to contend with the four great chieftain families for two and a half years despite being extremely short on supplies can be perfectly explained by having an Epsilon behind them.”

Zhang Yi thought back to his experience that night.

At the very beginning, the Golden-Winged Superhuman and the Lord of the Charnel Ground were hostile towards each other.

But when Zhang Yi and the other two superhumans appeared, the two suddenly joined forces.

This had puzzled Zhang Yi for a while, making him unclear about the relationship between the two.

But if the Golden-Winged Superhuman was the resistance army’s leader, the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle, everything made sense.

”There are two Epsilons in the Snowy Plateau Region?!”

Everyone found it utterly incredible.

They knew full well how difficult it was for an Epsilon-level superhuman to appear.

An Epsilon-level superhuman is born in perhaps one or two out of a hundred million people.

One needs talent, and also sufficient resources to allow that talent to grow.

Therefore, in the entire Huaxu Kingdom, the number of known Epsilons on the surface is less than ten.

Yet the Southwest Region actually has two?

Zhang Yi said, ”That Golden-Winged Superhuman isn’t very strong. Although we briefly fought that night, I could sense that his strength was very weak, completely insufficient to contend with the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

Zhou Ke’er said, ”There are also gaps between Epsilons. If his strength isn’t sufficient, even if we ally with him, he might not be of much help, right?”

”Hard to say, really hard to say.”

Zhang Yi habitually rubbed the back of his hand and slowly narrowed his eyes.

”There seems to be something special about the relationship between that guy and the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

”I can’t quite explain it, but that night I did sense something subtle.”

”He has fought the Lord of the Charnel Ground. That means he understands the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s strength, and even his weaknesses, better than anyone else. And that is the intelligence I need most!”

In the field of modern warfare, intelligence warfare is particularly crucial.

The same holds true for battles between superhumans.

If one can obtain enough intelligence on an opponent and make sufficient preparations, it’s entirely possible for the weaker to fight the stronger!

The superhuman ability index only represents the theoretical numerical value of ability, but data can sometimes be wrong.

Take Zhang Yi, for example.

Seventy percent of his abilities lie in defense. If someone did their homework on him in advance and found some method to prevent him from opening the Dimensional Gate,

just that one method could cripple more than half of his capabilities.

So now, no matter how strong Zhang Yi’s power has become, he still habitually proceeds step by step, always acting with caution.

It is precisely because of this that Zhang Yi wants to do everything he can to prepare for the clash with the Lord of the Charnel Ground.

For this, he doesn’t mind cooperating with the resistance army.

...

Deep within the Kunlun Mountains.

Vast, majestic mountain peaks stretch continuously for thousands of miles, extending from the westernmost side of the Snowy Plateau Region all the way to the eastern side, almost spanning the entire Southwest Region.

On the boundless snowy mountains, a golden eagle crouched quietly on a mountain peak, its sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.

Within a radius of dozens of miles, the movement of every blade of grass and every tree was under its watch.

And in a valley not far away was the resistance army’s camp.
