The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1478: Chapter 1478: That Phoenix Man Better Not Have the Surname Chen

Chen Zi was in disbelief: “Phoenix Man? Then why not just drive him away?”

“It’s too late. His mother is an only child and stayed at home to take care of him after giving birth, rarely going to the company. Although her father was somewhat wary of him, he was getting old and, later, his health deteriorated, so he couldn’t fight him anymore. After my father-in-law passed away, the Phoenix Man smoothly got all the company shares in his hands.”

“All of them?” Chen Zi was even more puzzled.

Logically, after the old man’s death, part of the inheritance would go to the biological daughter and grandchildren, and it’s impossible not to leave any company shares.

If they had company shares, how could they just leave with nothing and end up as delivery workers, living so miserably?

Cheng Guodong sighed, “Initially, I couldn’t understand it either. Later, I had someone investigate it and found out that back then he set up a trap, creating the illusion that the company was about to go bankrupt. He told his wife to sell the shares quickly to get some money, otherwise, if they waited, the shares would evaporate, and they’d get nothing. His wife was naive and trusted him too much, so she sold the shares cheaply. Since both of their kids were underage, he managed everything as the guardian and sold the shares.”

“What about the money from selling the shares? Didn’t that man trick them?”

Cheng Guodong sighed again.

Cheng Guodong didn’t continue, but the sigh was enough to answer Chen Zi’s question.

Chen Zi understood and sighed too.

Perhaps the sigh was too mournful, waking up someone who had been sleeping. That person abruptly stood up, turned around, and respectfully shouted, “Chairman Cheng!”

The voice was full of energy!

Just like when the food delivery was stolen and he shouted, “They’re robbing the delivery!”

Chen Zi exclaimed in surprise, “Delivery Guy?”

The Delivery Guy blushed and scratched his head, “Brother Chen Zi!”

“Is it really you?” Chen Zi was still somewhat incredulous.

He didn’t expect that funny Delivery Guy would become the assistant Chairman Cheng had found.

“Since you know each other, I won’t make further introductions.” Cheng Guodong said with a smile, “Chen Zi, how do you find this person? If you think he’s okay, tomorrow let him follow you.”

How could he not be okay? Chen Zi greatly admired this person’s character.

Plus, considering the Delivery Guy’s tragic experience, Chen Zi really wanted to help him, at least not let the Phoenix Man get away.

“Very good.” Chen Zi nodded.

Chairman Cheng laughed, “Xiao Chen, from now on, you’ll follow Chen Zi. If you perform well, maybe he’ll take you as an apprentice, and your future will be limitless.”

Xiao Chen’s eyes were sparkling, and his smile was a bit silly.

Chen Zi raised an eyebrow, “Xiao Chen?”

The Delivery Guy blushed, “I’m from the same family as Brother Chen Zi. My surname is also Chen.”

However, Chen Zi frowned.

That Phoenix Man’s surname is Chen?

What a disgrace to the surname!

Seeing Chen Zi frown, the Delivery Guy grew anxious, “Brother Chen Zi, did I say something wrong?”

Chen Zi asked, “Do you take your father’s surname?”

Xiao Chen shook his head, “That man was considered part of our family by marriage, so my sister and I follow my mother’s surname.”

Hearing this, Chen Zi breathed a sigh of relief and smiled brightly, “Having the surname Chen is good, it means we have a connection. Follow me well, and I won’t treat you poorly! As for the apprenticeship, it depends on your performance. If you can pass the probation period and become permanent, I’ll accept you as my apprentice.”

Xiao Chen was so happy he couldn’t speak, almost kneeling in front of Chen Zi.

Chen Zi said helplessly, “This isn’t ancient times. Even if you really become an apprentice, there’s no need to kneel. Just pour me a cup of tea.”
