The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1456: Chapter 1456: For the People, Only You

Little Taotie saw that he was bent on getting to the bottom of things, so he straightforwardly said, ”It is to be taken from the people and used for the people, only you.”

The Third Prince was taken aback.

”I... didn’t expect it.”

Little Taotie chuckled lightly, ”Have you never thought about sitting in this position?”

The position of Emperor is something many dream of, saying you’ve never thought about it is impossible.

The Third Prince had also wished to be chosen by his father and become the Crown Prince.

But that was just a dream after all, ultimately just a dream.

He knew in his heart that his abilities were inferior to other Princes, his family background not as strong, and after his talents were hidden, there were even fewer highlights, being chosen as the successor by his father was an impossible thing.

Yet somehow, this matter was like a pie falling from the sky and hitting him.

And it was even more straightforward than in his dreams, in the dream he only became Crown Prince, but in reality, he directly sat on the throne.

”Father, I won’t let you down!” he suddenly shouted with great seriousness.

Upon hearing his shout and seeing his sincere gaze, Little Taotie knew that maybe for the first ten years of the future, she could confidently hand the throne over to this person.

Just hoping, that he won’t be like the previous Emperor, who was wise for just the first ten years, but gradually became ridiculous in the latter twenty, turning into a foolish Emperor.

The reason he was chosen was mainly because his mother came from the common people, from the lower class, a small farming girl, so her way of educating children was entirely different from the ways other Princes’ mothers educated their children.

The other Princes would first pick the foods they liked, the clothes they liked, the things they liked; only after ensuring their own affluent life would they consider the people’s life and let something slip through their fingers to others.

It is taking from the people, then first living in affluence oneself, and then using it for the people.

But this Third Prince was different, he would tighten his belt, ensuring the people’s life was good first, only when the people lived well would he indulge himself.

For instance, his mother’s family background was poor, unable to give him anything, even reaching out to ask for some things, although he, as a Prince, had a limited monthly allowance, he would still help out in times of emergency rather than poverty.

If the servants and attendants around him encountered difficulties, he, being the master, would generously provide aid, even under circumstances where he didn’t have enough himself, he would sell some things to help others through the tough times.

If it were the other Princes, it wouldn’t be possible, they wouldn’t inconvenience anyone, especially not themselves, nor would they suffer themselves for the sake of servants and attendants. In their view, servants and attendants are inferior people, and they themselves are superior.

This represents a difference in class consciousness.

The biggest difference between the Third Prince and the other Princes is this difference in class consciousness.

And it is precisely because of this different class consciousness that is the most important reason Little Taotie chose him to become New Emperor.

”Go prepare for the enthronement ceremony, don’t waste time here with me. I’ve remembered what you said, and if one day you disappoint me, I will let you know the seriousness of the consequences.”

Little Taotie waved her hand to dismiss him.

The Third Prince looked back with every step, still unable to believe all this was real, excited yet uneasy.

When the news spread, it shocked the court, the Imperial City was in an uproar.

Officials found it unbelievable, there has never been anyone like this in the history of any dynasty, not coveting power, retiring to let someone else take over during their prime.

In the past, those old Emperors, until the moment of death, were unwilling to let go of the power in their hands.
