The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1473: Chapter 1473: Feeling Ashamed for Self-Interest

Ghost Sister sat cross-legged in midair, with ghostly energy rising above her head. The ghostly energy was a mist of nothingness, intertwining in shades of gray and deep blue, creating a visual illusion.

Little Taotie stared at the swirling mist above her head, watching it transform into a human face, and then into a chocolate.

Little Taotie seemed to understand something.

What Ghost Sister absorbed before seemed to have been expelled due to repulsion, transforming back into a piece of chocolate.

Little Taotie hesitated and asked, “Can you make more of it?”

Ghost Sister smiled bitterly, “It’s actually a bit difficult.”

Little Taotie drooped his head.

Ghost Sister sighed, “I’ll do my best.”

Little Taotie lifted his head, his little dimples sinking, eyes curved in a sweet smile, “Thank you, Sister!”

“Thank me?” Ghost Sister found it amusing, shaking her head with a laugh, “The chocolate was originally yours. I ate your chocolate, and now I’m just giving a small part back to you. I still owe you a lot more, and it’s only right to return it to you, yet you are thanking me.”

Little Taotie shook his head, “That’s not how it works.”

Ghost Sister asked with amusement, “If that’s not how it works, then how should it be calculated?”

Little Taotie lifted his head, smiling with naive tranquility, “If Sister doesn’t want to return it, she doesn’t have to. But since Sister tries to return it, I must be grateful to her.”

“You!” Ghost Sister shook her head, “You’re too kind-hearted, no wonder you work so hard to make money, it’s always for the benefit of others.”

“No, it’s not.” Little Taotie waved his hands repeatedly, “I’m not as selfless and kind as Sister thinks. In fact…” The little girl became a bit shy, her face flushing, with a soft, childlike voice, “I do have selfish motives.”

Really selfish?

“I didn’t see it at all.”

In her view, Little Taotie always gave away the hard-earned money unconditionally, asking nothing in return, selfless and kind-hearted.

Little Taotie’s little face turned red.

She thought of her selfish motives behind her good deeds, and her face turned even redder, feeling a bit ashamed of herself.

“I… I only did it because of some benefits, if there were no benefits… I don’t know if I would still do it.”

Little Taotie had gone hungry, experienced poverty, so she cherished food and the money she earned more than most people. Actually, from being poor to suddenly rich, she was very frugal, lacking the generosity of the newly affluent.

The current generosity came entirely from knowing that doing good deeds and donating money could earn merit, with a chance that the sleeping Little Beast Bai Bai might awaken, and the Primordial Spirit could be restored.

Everything was driven by selfish motives.

The more this was the case, the less comfortable Little Taotie felt about accepting everyone’s praise.

Many celebrities, after doing good deeds, would take the opportunity to take some photos or shoot a documentary, leaving some record or promoting themselves.

But Little Taotie always refused to take photos.

She felt her intentions in doing good were not pure at the start, making her unqualified to take photos or spread the word, and even more embarrassed to accept everyone’s praise.

Little Taotie shyly expressed her state of mind, but hearing this made Ghost Sister burst into laughter.

Little Taotie furrowed her brows, somewhat displeased, “Are you laughing at me?”

Ghost Sister wished she could pinch her little cheek again, regretting once more her inability to touch her.

“Regardless of your initial reasons, the fact that you now have this idea and feel ashamed of your impure motives means you are sincere, you are genuinely giving.”

At these words, Little Taotie was very puzzled, tilting her head to look at her.

Ghost Sister smiled gently, “If you weren’t sincere, you wouldn’t feel ashamed. You would boast about your good deeds, you’d use these actions to make a name for yourself, you’d carry the impurity through to the end. Realizing it’s impure is where the transition to purity begins.”
