The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 968: Chapter 968: Problems at Eighteen Locations

The Island Master lay paralyzed on the sofa, rolling his eyes at the woman who poured grape juice into a wine glass, and said speechlessly, ”You’re so childish.”

The woman couldn’t be bothered with him and continued sipping her grape juice.

”You don’t even comfort me, I almost got swallowed by my pet Golden Python, it was a near-death experience!”

”Well, that’s your own fault. You haven’t been taking care of it, so it doesn’t see you as its master at all.”

”Damn thing, I won’t keep it anymore!”

Suddenly, the phone rang.

The Island Master, still angry, hung up the call.

But the phone rang again, and with a temper, he hung up once more.

The phone rang a third time; he picked it up, sounding unfriendly, ”Spit it out already!”

The Assistant Director didn’t care about his attitude; his voice was urgent, ”Tell me, has something unclean appeared on the island!”

”Unclean thing?” The Island Master was momentarily unresponsive.

”Like, something like ’woo woo woo’.”

”What’s ’woo woo woo’?”

At this moment, a terrifying cry sounded on the big screen, resembling a baby’s wailing, which frightened a grown man into hugging a little boy and crying, while the little boy looked quite calm, and the man cried miserably.

The Assistant Director brought the phone closer so that the person on the other end could hear the eerie sound resembling a baby’s sobbing.

The Island Master heard this sound, felt his hair stand on end, and cursed, ”You’re scaring me late at night?”

The Assistant Director shivered, ”It’s not me scaring you; something strange has happened on the island. You should come and take a look.”

The Island Master cursed under his breath as he got up, put on his shoes, and headed out the door. The woman put down her wine glass and followed.

The Island Master glanced at her, ”Don’t follow; you might get scared.”

”I’m bored anyway.”

The Island Master shrugged, ”If you get frightened and cry, I’m not comforting you.”

...

The door was knocked on; the shivering Director and Assistant Director exchanged a glance, neither dared to open it.

The Island Master’s cursing voice came through, ”Open the door quickly! Why so slow, were you reincarnated as a turtle? Hurry up!”

”Bang bang bang!” The Island Master knocked on the door somewhat violently.

The Director took a deep breath, trembling, ”Shall we go together?”

The Assistant Director nodded.

The two grown men held hands and went to open the door together.

The door opened.

The Island Master and the woman saw two grown men holding hands, trembling nonstop.

”Are you two... in that kind of relationship?” The Island Master looked oddly at their clasped hands.

The Director and Assistant Director let go of each other’s hands like a flash.

The Assistant Director looked as if he’d found a savior, ”You’re here, quickly, check it out. Is it possible there’s really something unclean on the island?”

The Island Master frowned; seeing the way the two looked, it didn’t seem like they were faking it.

The Island Master turned to the woman, ”You should go back.”

The woman pouted, ”I’m already here.”

The Island Master was helpless.

The two came to the big screen, which had now divided into eighteen squares.

That is to say, problems had appeared in eighteen places; in some places, there were two people, in others just one, and in others, groups of four or five.

When alone, they mostly experienced sleep paralysis, or nightmares with ghostly wails, or symptoms of sleepwalking.

In places with more people, there would be brawls, or they’d huddle together shivering, with strange noises like cries, whistling, cracking bone sounds around them.

”Is this... a movie?” The Island Master was puzzled, ”Are they all actors? Pretty good acting!”

The Director hoarsely said, ”No, when our people tried to stop them from fighting, no matter how many we sent, they’d join in the brawl.”
