The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 652: Chapter 652: The Broad-Minded Little Taotie

”Doctors are so great!” Little Taotie hugged Qiaoqiao tightly, ”Qiaoqiao, when I get sick in the future, you have to ’hu hu’ me, okay~”

Qiaoqiao’s face turned even redder as she struggled out of Little Taotie’s embrace, not forgetting to cover the left side of her face with one hand, ”I... I’m just thinking about it.”

”Having an idea means you can definitely achieve it. You need to have a dream before you can chase it~”

”I...” Qiaoqiao’s hand covering her face trembled slightly as she whispered, ”I want to be a pediatrician, but I’m afraid I’ll scare the children.”

”Didn’t your mother say that when you get a bit older, you can have laser surgery, and then it will be fixed?”

”But...” Qiaoqiao said hesitantly, ”I’m afraid she’s lying to me.”

Adults always deceive children with sweet words, just like my parents did in the past.

”Don’t worry, your mom won’t lie to you. I asked my elder brother, and he also said that you can have the laser surgery, it’s just that you’re too young right now. You have to wait a couple more years.”

”But...”

”Why don’t you want to believe in your mom? Every time I come over, she’s so kind to me. I think she’s very gentle, and she speaks to you so softly and patiently.”

”I know my new mom is good to me, but...”

”Are you scared?”

Qiaoqiao no longer hid her feelings after being directly pointed out by her friend; she nodded, ”My former stepmom was also very nice to me, really nice. I truly thought of her as my real mom. I never doubted that her love for me was pretense, until... that incident happened, and I learned she actually despised me deeply.”

”People are different, I used to think my birth parents would be like my foster parents, but as I got to know them better, my views started to change.”

”But you still haven’t acknowledged them, have you?” Qiaoqiao asked, puzzled.

Little Taotie nodded her small head, ”I need to observe them more, so you can also observe your new mom. We don’t have to reject their approach, let everything take its course slowly.”

”Didn’t you feel that they were different? Why haven’t you acknowledged them then?”

”Let me think.” Little Taotie pondered seriously, ”Maybe it’s because I’m doing really well now. I don’t want any big changes. If I acknowledged them, they might take me back with them, and I don’t want to leave my foster brother’s home.”

Qiaoqiao listened quietly, deep in thought.

Little Taotie said softly, ”If I’d met them first, maybe I would have acknowledged them.”

”But I met my elder brother first.”

”I didn’t understand what had happened before, but now I can use a smartphone. I know that before I knew how to use a smartphone, many people criticized me online, and it was my elder brother who dealt with all that.”

”If it weren’t for my elder brother taking me away from the company, I might be facing some really bad things right now. Even though I’m quite strong, I only became powerful gradually.”

”Before, I couldn’t even fill my stomach, I had no strength. If a bad person wanted to do something to me, I didn’t have the power to resist.”

”During the hardest times, it was my elder brother who silently helped me through.”

”Perhaps, if the Tao family had appeared sooner and done all this, I might have acknowledged them. But that’s only hypothetical. After all, by the time they appeared, I no longer needed them.”

Little Taotie was always a child who could easily let things go. She talked about her experiences while eating freeze-dried strawberries as if she was talking about someone else’s stories, appearing carefree and heartless.

Qiaoqiao envied Little Taotie’s cheerful and optimistic nature and wanted to be like her, not dwelling on the past.

”My former stepmother was gentle too, but that was all feigned. I’m afraid the new mom might change over time. I know it’s wrong to think this way, to compare them, but I can’t help thinking about it. When will I be able to forget the past and stop comparing them?”

”Qiao, each person needs time to heal from the past. My second brother said that time can heal everything; the only difference is that some people might need longer,”

”Maybe... I’m just someone who needs longer.” Qiaoqiao lowered her eyes, ”But I’m also afraid that if she waits too long, she’ll gradually lose her patience and stop liking me.”
