Chapter 1196: Chapter 1196:- Heavenly Tribulation [VI]; Ego Vs Heaven

Before the sixth and final Heavenly Thunder strike could descend, Aditya suddenly gathered whatever strength remained within his broken body and released a deafening roar. Aditya roared as if he was roaring at Heaven and declaring his defiance to Heaven, the earth and everyone who was here to witness history today.

“ROOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!!”

His roar spread across the devastated land as his body immediately began transforming. Crimson light erupted from him. His broken human body rapidly expanded as crimson scales replaced his burned flesh. His limbs transformed into enormous draconic claws, a massive tail extended behind him, and two gigantic wings unfolded from his back.

The entire transformation happened almost instantly. In less than a second, the badly wounded human lying at the centre of the crater disappeared. In his place appeared Aditya’s true form.

The Divine Crimson Storm Dragon!!!

A gigantic crimson Dragon several hundred meters long appeared beneath the dark heavens. Crimson scales covered his enormous body while Crimson Lightning flickered violently between them. Even in his miserable condition, his true Dragon form carried an overwhelming presence that made his previous human body appear insignificant in comparison.

His fully transformed Dragon body looked even more gruesome than his human self. He rose from the ground high enough that everyone could fully his his miserable state. The women he loved shed tears seeing his miserable state.

First was the painful absorption process; now this was this. And he was shouldering everything alone without any help. Aditya had always been like this. He always shoulders everything alone. Till this very moment, he stayed true to his character of burdening himself rather than burdening his loved ones.

But the heavens did not give him even a second to adjust. The moment Aditya completed his transformation,

FLASH!!!!!!!!

Golden light swallowed the heavens. The sixth Heavenly Thunder strike descended. It was the final and the most strongest strike of all.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!

The golden Heavenly Thunder struck Aditya’s enormous Dragon body.

Unlike the previous five strikes, the sixth Heavenly Thunder did not merely appear to strike a single point on his body. The terrifying golden lightning spread across his gigantic form almost instantly, engulfing hundreds of meters of his Divine Crimson Storm Dragon body within a sea of violent golden lightning.

This time, Aditya had nothing protecting him. The black sword that he had just repaired had already been broken once again. His full-body armour had been destroyed beyond any possibility of continuing to protect him.

There were no defensive formations. There were no barriers. There were no artefacts left between him and the heavens. There was only his body. The instant the sixth Heavenly Thunder struck him, Aditya felt his consciousness rapidly slipping away.

The pain was beyond anything he had experienced from the previous five strikes. His thoughts became increasingly distant as his senses began shutting down one after another.

For a brief moment, countless memories flashed before his eyes as his consciousness continued to fade. Aditya saw the faces of the people he loved, the women who were waiting for him to return, his family, his friends, his subordinates, and the countless people who had placed their trust in him and were now preparing to follow him into this war.

Memories from different stages of his life appeared and disappeared one after another, moving so quickly that Aditya could barely understand what he was seeing. It almost felt as though he had already reached death’s doorstep, and his mind was forcing him to relive fragments of his life one final time before everything came to an end.

But Aditya refused.

‘No.’ His consciousness continued slipping.

‘Not yet.’

His enormous Dragon claws dug into the destroyed earth. ‘I am not dying here.’

Instead of surrendering to the overwhelming Heavenly Thunder, Aditya forced every remaining fragment of his concentration toward the one method that had worked before.

Redirect it.

He no longer had his black sword to act as a conductor, but his true Dragon body was now directly touching the ground. Aditya desperately used his understanding of Crimson Lightning to influence the flow of the golden Heavenly Thunder rampaging throughout his body.

He could not control the Heavenly Thunder, nor could he stop it. But he could change the direction of a portion of it. Aditya forced as much of the Heavenly Thunder as he possibly could downward through his gigantic Dragon body. Golden lightning traveled through his limbs before reaching the massive claws that were buried into the earth.

The ground itself became his conductor. A huge portion of the redirected Heavenly Thunder violently discharged through Aditya’s claws and entered the earth. And the earth could not contain it.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!

A colossal explosion erupted beneath Aditya. The sound travelled across the land with such overwhelming force that it could be heard nearly three hundred kilometres away.

The earth around Aditya was instantly torn apart.

The enormous amount of Heavenly Thunder that he had redirected underground spread outward in every direction before violently erupting back toward the surface. Massive fissures ripped through the land. Entire sections of earth collapsed while others were violently pushed upward. Rocks, soil, trees, and everything remaining within the surrounding area were thrown into the air.

The land itself was being reshaped. The destructive force did not remain near Aditya.

A massive shockwave spread outward from the point where the Heavenly Thunder had entered the ground, carrying both physical force and violent remnants of the golden lightning across the surrounding region.

Even Axel City was affected. The city’s Defensive Dome Structure immediately endured the approaching shockwave. The enormous barrier trembled violently as the destructive force slammed against it, while the walls and defensive structures surrounding Axel City shook under the impact.

Yet even with all those defences protecting them, the people inside could still feel the earth violently shaking beneath their feet.

It felt like a massive earthquake had struck Axel City. Some weaker houses cracked under the violent shaking, while a few poorly constructed structures partially collapsed. The deafening sound of the explosion caused several elderly ordinary humans to faint, while others covered their ears and desperately tried to maintain their balance as the ground continued trembling beneath them.

Outside Axel City, the hundreds of thousands of soldiers gathered for the upcoming civil war immediately reacted.

All cultivators, regardless of their strength or order, throughout the enormous army released their mana simultaneously. Hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands of individual streams of mana joined together as the soldiers collectively formed an enormous mana barrier around themselves.

BOOOOOOM!!!

The expanding shockwave slammed into their combined defence. The enormous mana barrier violently trembled.

Even with hundreds of thousands of cultivators contributing their strength, those positioned at the front still suffered from the impact. Some were thrown backwards, while others sustained injuries simply from the tremendous force transmitted through the barrier.

Yet this was merely the destruction caused by the portion of Heavenly Thunder that Aditya had successfully redirected. The rest of the sixth Heavenly Thunder was still rampaging through his Divine Crimson Storm Dragon body.

Aditya tried his absolute best to hold on to his consciousness. He fought against the overwhelming pain and desperately forced himself to remain awake while the final Heavenly Thunder continued rampaging through his body. He had already endured five strikes. He had come too far to give up now, especially when only the final few moments remained between him and completing the Heavenly Tribulation.

But his willpower alone could no longer keep his broken body going.

At the very last moment, Aditya felt his consciousness beginning to disappear. His vision completely darkened, his senses faded one after another, and even the unbearable pain that had been tormenting him started feeling strangely distant. No matter how desperately he tried to remain conscious, his mind was finally reaching its limit.

However, just before Aditya completely lost consciousness, a familiar voice echoed inside his mind.

『Ding! Congratulations! The Host has successfully broken through to Beginner Sixth Order!』

Several more System notifications immediately followed the first one, but Aditya could no longer understand them. He vaguely heard repeated System sounds echoing inside his mind, yet the words had already become meaningless noise that his exhausted consciousness could no longer process.

The only thing he clearly understood was the first notification.

He had succeeded.

Aditya had reached Beginner Sixth Order.

And immediately afterward, Aditya finally allowed his consciousness to slip away. Until this moment, he had desperately fought against the exhaustion and pain because he knew that losing consciousness even a second too early could mean death. But now there was no longer any reason to keep forcing himself to remain awake. He had endured everything from beginning to end. He had survived all six Heavenly Thunder strikes and finally crossed the finishing line.

For the first time since the Heavenly Tribulation began, Aditya could finally relax. He had succeeded. He was still alive, and although his body was in an unimaginably terrible condition, he knew that he would eventually wake up again. With that comforting thought in his mind, Aditya stopped resisting the overwhelming exhaustion and completely surrendered himself to unconsciousness.

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!
