Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1166: Chapter 1166:- “Focus on winning the civil war.”

“Focus on winning the civil war. There is no need to even think about us.”

His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. These were not the words of a father asking his son to abandon him. These were the words of a former emperor who understood the responsibilities of leadership.

To Alen, the future of the empire was more important than his own life. If sacrificing himself and Elena was what it took for Aditya to secure victory and restore peace, then he was prepared to accept that fate. Not to mention, death would allow them to atone for their sins.

“Trust us. We have thought this through carefully. For us, death is the best outcome of this civil war. And I have no doubt that with all the talents you possess and all the amazing and capable people you have gathered around yourself, you will win this civil war sooner or later.”

Alen spoke with complete confidence. There was no hesitation in his voice because he had already accepted the possibility of his own death. To him, this was not an emotional decision made in a moment of despair. It was a decision he and Elena had reached after carefully considering the situation and the consequences of their existence becoming a weakness for Aditya.

“This is why I am begging you as your father. Do not try to come and save us.”

Aditya remained silent, but his expression showed how much he was struggling to accept his father’s words. For him, abandoning his parents was not something he could easily accept. No matter how much responsibility he carried as the emperor, they were still the people who gave him life.

“Leave us at the Royal Palace. If Ren uses us against you on the battlefield or through any other method, do not hesitate even for a second to declare us as dead people.”

“Consider us dead.”

Those final words carried a heavy meaning. Alen and Elena did not want Aditya to fall into the trap of emotional manipulation. They knew exactly how Emperor Ren would use them. As long as they remained alive and under Ren’s control, they could become the strongest weapon against their own son.

A ruler’s battlefield was not always fought with swords and armies. Sometimes, the greatest battles were fought through political pressure, fear, and emotional weaknesses. Ren would undoubtedly attempt to use Alen and Elena as bargaining chips or as a way to blackmail Aditya into making decisions that would benefit him.

However, Alen and Elena refused to allow themselves to become the reason their son lost everything.

They had already caused Aditya enough pain. Because of their past mistakes, their son had lost his childhood, endured countless hardships, and was now forced to fight a civil war that threatened the future of the entire empire. They did not want their existence to become another burden placed on his shoulders.

They wanted Aditya to remain focused on the bigger picture. The future of the Istarin Empire an now also the future of the Celestial Dragon Empire, the people who depended on him, and the countless lives affected by this civil war were far more important than their own survival.

If the day came when Ren attempted to use them as a weapon against Aditya, they wanted their son to ignore the emotional pressure, continue fighting, and lead the empire toward victory.

For Alen and Elena, their role as parents was not only to protect their son when he was young. It was also to make sure that when the time came, they would not become the chains holding him back from achieving his destiny.

“My son, we know that we are placing a heavy burden on your shoulders. For that, we are deeply apologetic. Which parents would want their own child to make the decision of taking their own lives?”

Aditya looked at his father in silence. As he stared at Alen, he noticed that his mother’s eyes were already filled with tears. Elena, who had always maintained her composure as the former empress, was struggling to hold herself together. At the same time, his father was barely keeping his emotions under control, forcing himself not to cry in front of everyone.

Seeing their expressions made the weight of their words even heavier. This was not an easy request for them to make. They were not asking because they wanted to abandon their son or because they had lost the will to live. They were asking because they believed their existence could become a weakness that their enemies would exploit.

“But you have to make this decision.” Alen’s voice trembled slightly, but his expression remained firm.

“Aditya, if you lose the civil war, then you don’t just lose. You lose everything. The people who have placed their trust in you and have given everything they have to support you will also lose.”

The room became silent as everyone listened carefully to Alen’s words. Everyone understood what he was trying to say. This civil war was not simply a conflict between two sides fighting for control over the throne. The outcome would determine the future of the entire Istarin Empire.

“If you lose, then most of the people sitting in this room will end up dying. If not everyone.”

Alen’s words carried the harsh reality of their current situation. They were standing against Emperor Ren, the mysterious organization controlling him, and all the forces that supported their side. A single mistake could result in the destruction of everything they had fought to protect.

Aditya was not only fighting for his own position as the rightful emperor. He was fighting for his allies, the people of the empire, and everyone who had chosen to stand behind him despite knowing the dangers.

Alen and Elena understood that asking their son to abandon them was cruel. They understood that no child should ever be forced to make such a choice. However, they also understood the responsibility that came with being the leader of an empire.

A ruler could not allow personal emotions to decide the fate of millions. That was why they wanted Aditya to understand that, even if the worst possible outcome happened, he could not allow their lives to become the reason the empire fell.

“Rather than waiting for everyone’s death, I want you to strengthen your resolve to win this civil war. Do what is necessary and what must be done to achieve victory, even if it means ordering your troops to kill us.”

After hearing those words, Aditya did not respond. He did not speak a single word, nor did he try to argue against his parents’ decision.

He did not even look at them.

Instead, he lowered his head and silently stared at the floor. The room around him became quiet, but the silence inside his own mind was far louder. For years, Aditya had faced countless challenges. He had fought powerful enemies, made difficult political decisions, and carried responsibilities that most people could never imagine.

However, this was different. For the first time in both of his lives, Aditya faced a decision that he truly did not know how to handle. There were enemies he could defeat with strength, strategies he could overcome with intelligence, and political situations he could solve through careful planning.

But this was his own family.

The people asking him to make this choice were not his enemies. They were his parents, the same people who had already suffered because of their past mistakes and were now willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the empire and their son.

For the first time, Aditya genuinely wished he was in a better position. He wished he was not standing at the center of this conflict. He wished he was not forced into a situation where he had to choose between saving his parents and protecting everything that depended on him.

For the first time, he hated the thought of going to civil war. If possible, if only he could avoid going to war at all, then he would not have to make such a cruel choice.

If this had been any other war, any other enemy, or any other sacrifice, Aditya believed he could have made the decision without hesitation. But this civil war was different.

The outcome would decide the fate of the Istarin Empire. Millions of people were depending on him. His allies had placed their trust in him, and countless soldiers were willing to risk their lives following his command.

Yet at the same time, the people he loved the most were asking him not to save them. They were asking him to prioritise the empire over them.

‘I hate this situation.’

‘I hate the position that I am put in.’

As the Dragon Monarch, Aditya loved being in control of his situations. He absolutely hated not being in control, as that would mean he would be forced into situations where he would need to make such difficult choices.
