Medical and Martial God

Accept a disciple? Ye Xiu’s words struck like a bolt from the blue, dumbfounding Leng Yue, Mo Luo, Dizang, and Chloe.

They stared at Jiaojiao in shock, unable to imagine what could be so special about this little girl—aside from her wild imagination, enormous appetite, and adorable looks—that would prompt Ye Xiu to proactively offer to take her as his disciple. Having followed him into battle for ten years, they knew him all too well.

In his entire life, Ye Xiu had only ever taken one official disciple: the Ghost Doctor. And that was only because the Ghost Doctor had cried and begged him for it. Ye Xiu was extremely strict when it came to accepting disciples. He had never even considered taking on any of the Thirteen Protectors or the genius Er Gouzi.

But this little girl...

”Is there something special about her?” Qin Qing asked directly. She and Ye Liuyun weren’t as surprised as the others, since they had no idea how demanding Ye Xiu was about taking on disciples.

”Big Brother, this girl has a huge appetite. She’s already eaten one kilogram of meat in just a short time. Other than that, I can’t see what makes her worthy of being your disciple,” Ye Liuyun said curiously.

”Mr. Ye, Jiaojiao has no talent for martial arts. Are you taking her as a disciple to teach her medical skills?” asked Taoist Leader Gongsun Jian.

Heh, you think I’d tell you the truth? If you knew what was so special about this little girl, you’d never let me have her!

”That’s right!” Ye Xiu declared with a straight face. ”I sense she has a talent for medicine.”

Qin Qing and the others chuckled. With this little foodie’s wild imagination, if she learned medicine, she might just get the bright idea to perform a head transplant on a patient.

”Fantastic!” Gongsun Jian exclaimed joyfully. ”Jiaojiao is the daughter of an old friend. It is her good fortune and destiny to become the disciple of Medicine King Xuanse. Why would I be reluctant?”

With that, he patted Jiaojiao’s little head and urged, ”Jiaojiao, hurry up and kneel to kowtow to your master.”

”No!” Jiaojiao refused decisively.

Gongsun Jian, seeming to have anticipated this, said, ”If you take Ye Xiu as your master, you’ll have meat to eat at every meal.”

THUMP!

Jiaojiao dropped to her knees before Ye Xiu, gave a light kowtow on the ground, then jumped up and cheered, ”Finally, I’ll never have to worry about meat again!”

Ye Xiu’s face darkened. Was this for real? The first time he had sincerely wanted to accept a disciple, and she had agreed only for the promise of meat?

Seeing Ye Xiu’s constipated expression, Qin Qing and the others had to try their hardest to keep from bursting into laughter.

”Mr. Ye, I’ll leave Jiaojiao in your care now. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back and inform the members of Taoism to head to the stadium,” Gongsun Jian said politely.

”Alright!” Ye Xiu nodded. After Gongsun Jian left, he turned to Dizang and commanded, ”Dizang, set off immediately. Go and break the Formations on six islands: Seven-Star Island to the north, Drunken Fairy Island to the northwest, Westwind Island to the northeast, the Six Paths region north of Drunken Fairy Island, Heavenly Wolf Island north of Seven-Star Island, and Panlong Island north of Westwind Island. Demolish the Formations on all six of them.”

”As you command!” Dizang accepted the order and departed. Ye Xiu had given him Cha Muxue’s Water System Totem, which would allow him to travel freely through the sea. Furthermore, besides Ye Xiu himself, Dizang was the only one who understood Formations, making him the only person for the job.

”What? He can break Formations?” Tu La, Cha Muxue, and Lin Chuan were all shocked. Ye Xiu had struck Tu La’s acupoint so he couldn’t speak, so Cha Muxue asked on his behalf.

Ye Xiu ignored him, returning to his room to change into the Huang Quan Suit before heading to the stadium.

The Abandoned City had a large, derelict stadium capable of holding over a hundred thousand people, which had once been used for soccer matches, concerts, and other events. The stadium had long since fallen into disrepair and was overgrown with weeds, but no one cared.

When Ye Xiu arrived, he saw Qing Luan standing anxiously at the entrance.

”Um, are you really not going to do anything about Xuanse?” she asked nervously as he approached.

”Who said I wasn’t?” Ye Xiu patted her on the shoulder and walked straight into the stadium.

Hearing this, the weight on Qing Luan’s heart finally lifted, and she hurried in after him.

By now, all the War Gods of Biluo Island were seated in the stands. Yan Long was boasting with great bravado, completely ignoring the furious glares from the major organizations. But when he saw Ye Xiu arrive, clad in the Huang Quan Suit, his boasting came to an abrupt halt. The noise in the stadium died down instantly.

”Bring those forty-six undercover agents over here!” Ye Xiu commanded as he walked to the center of the field. He stomped his foot, and the weeds, which stood half a person tall, were instantly pulverized.

This display of power made everyone present gasp, their minds reeling at Huang Quan’s unfathomable strength.

Just then, Wang Jianhan and his men brought the 46 undercover agents before Ye Xiu. Instantly, all the War Gods in the stands grew curious, wondering how Huang Quan would deal with them.

”The dogs of the three Judicator Families all deserve to die!”

With a series of slaps, Ye Xiu executed all 46 undercover agents, one by one. His ruthlessness made all the War Gods in the stands hold their breath, their tension peaking. Although they had killed before, none of them could slaughter people as if they were nothing more than pigs and dogs like Huang Quan did.

”I’m sure that among those of you seated here, and those below the rank of War God who aren’t present, there are quite a few subordinates, disciples, or relatives of these forty-six undercover agents, correct?” Ye Xiu’s gaze swept across the stands.

Though he wore a ferocious mask that hid his eyes, the agents’ associates felt his gaze pass over them like a blade.

”Perhaps you knew they defected to the three Judicator Families, perhaps you didn’t. I don’t care. I’m giving you one chance to start anew. If I find out any of you are still in contact with the three Judicator Families, I will have your nine clans exterminated!” Ye Xiu’s voice was resolute and brimming with killing intent.

In the stands, the subordinates, disciples, and relatives of the 46 undercover agents all rose and bowed to Ye Xiu. Their actions were a public declaration. By standing, they had exposed their connections and were implicitly asking everyone present to hold them accountable.

”Sit down!” Ye Xiu nodded in satisfaction and announced loudly, ”I’ve called you here today for two matters.

”First, to tell you the correct path of cultivation and teach you some tricks to become immune to the tactics of the three Judicator Families.

”Second, to restructure the various organizations.”

These words left most of the War Gods in the stands impressed but confused. However, those like Bruce, who had greeted the ”negotiation team” at the port, and the members of Taoism understood the meaning of his first point. They grew excited, recalling how Ye Xiu had told them at the port that their cultivation paths were all misguided.

As for his second point, no one understood it.

”Let’s start with the second matter!” Ye Xiu declared. ”Biluo Island has far too many organizations, and the strength of its five million-plus Martial Artists varies too widely. This would make unified command and combat deployment a mess in a major war. Therefore, I am making the following adjustments.

”Let’s use First Grade Martial Artists as an example!

”All First Grade Martial Artists will form a First Grade Army, organized as follows: five-man squads; ten squads will form a platoon; ten platoons will form a company; and ten companies will form a battalion.”
