Medical and Martial God

Ye Xiu was no saint. He wouldn’t forgive Bruce just because he had cleared his own name. With over one hundred thousand War God Army soldiers pressing in, if it weren’t for the intelligence network Ye Xiu had in place covering the entire Biluo Island and providing an early warning of Bruce’s movements, today would have ended in tragedy. Wouldn’t the three Judicator Families have been laughing in their dreams as a result? So, Bruce, as the ringleader, had to be punished. An example had to be made of him to warn others and prevent such incidents from happening again.

”Apologize with death?” Bruce was stunned for a moment before becoming furious. ”Ye Xiu, you must be lightheaded from skipping breakfast! I misunderstood you because I was provoked by the enemy. I’m a victim too, so on what grounds are you demanding I apologize with my life?” Is there anything more humiliating than being punished by someone weaker than oneself?

Just as Bruce finished speaking, Xuan Ming Sect Hierarch Galava immediately chimed in sycophantically, ”Ye Xiu, you’ve proven your innocence through your own efforts, and we believe you were framed. Fortunately, our sides did not come to blows, which is a silver lining that should be celebrated. Isn’t demanding Bruce’s life as an apology a bit too much?” The crowd was speechless. Galava had been consistently duped by Bruce, yet he shamelessly continued to lick his boots.

”Galava, hold your horses,” Ye Xiu said coldly. ”Though the War God Army’s attack on Abandoned City was instigated by Bruce, you played a role in stirring up emotions. Your crime is no less than his. Once I’ve dealt with Bruce, you’ll be next.”

Galava’s face turned pale. He was just speaking up for Bruce. How did he end up caught in the crossfire? He hastily retorted, ”Ye Xiu, you’re talking nonsense! When did I ever stir up emotions?”

At that moment, a man from the Xuan Ming Sect crowd stepped forward, holding up his phone as he proclaimed aloud, ”I have a recording of Bruce and Galava’s secret plotting, as well as a recording of Bruce’s meeting with the leaders of various organizations last night. It’s more than enough to prove that Galava stirred up emotions. Moreover, without Galava’s instigation, the leaders of the organizations would never have followed Bruce.”

Everyone stared agape at the man. Why would a member of the Xuan Ming Sect come forward to expose Galava?

”Zhu Jian, you... you—you betrayed me,” Galava stammered in anger.

The so-called whistleblower, Zhu Jian, smiled coldly. ”I am a ’Supervisor’ sent by the Huang Quan Sect to the Xuan Ming Sect. I never belonged to the Xuan Ming Sect, so how can you speak of betrayal?”

The crowd erupted. To think Huang Quan had actually planted a spy within the Xuan Ming Sect! Could there also be Huang Quan spies in other organizations? Hmm, we’ll have to do a thorough check when we get back... the leaders of the various organizations thought to themselves.

”Galava, the evidence is definitive. If you don’t die now, then when?” Ye Xiu said coldly.

Mo Qingdi, Tang Buyi, and the others instantly drew their weapons, eying Galava with cold intent, making it clear that if he didn’t commit suicide, they would take action themselves.

This scared Galava half to death. He quickly pleaded, ”Ye Xiu, Mr. Ye, Divine Doctor Ye, you must see the finer details here! It was Bruce who misled me; he was the one who urged me to stir up emotions. He’s an Eighth Realm War God, I didn’t dare disobey him...”

”Galava, you...” Bruce exclaimed in rage, cursing inwardly. That useless pig of a teammate actually betrayed me!

”In that case, the death sentence can be spared, but the punishment cannot be escaped,” Ye Xiu pronounced coldly. ”Beat him for half an hour!”

Mo Qingdi and Tang Buyi immediately pounced on Galava, dragging him aside and beginning to beat him mercilessly in front of everyone present.

The scene made Bruce’s scalp tingle as anger surged within him. He glared at Ye Xiu and said, ”Ye Xiu, you’re too arrogant. Galava isn’t your subordinate; what right do you have to punish him?” The subtext being, ’I’m not your subordinate either, so you have no right to punish me.’

Ye Xiu completely ignored Bruce’s words and said in a chilly voice, ”It’s your turn.”

”You dare!” Bruce drew his sword and said coldly, ”I am the only Eighth Realm on Biluo Island, the Supreme Commander of the global Martial Artist Allied Forces. If you lay a hand on me, you will be making an enemy of the entire global Martial Artist Allied Forces.”

As soon as he spoke, the War God Army hurriedly scattered, putting distance between themselves and the Necromancers Association.

Bruce was speechless. That slap in the face came way too fast. I just declared myself the Supreme Commander of the global Martial Artist Allied Forces, and now they’re avoiding me like the plague.

Ye Xiu burst out laughing; he truly hadn’t expected this. Is this the legendary ’every man for himself when disaster strikes’? He was just about to pass judgment on Bruce when Yan Long stepped forward and shouted, ”The Heaven Net recruitment event starts now! Any Necromancers Association members want to defect?”

Ye Xiu was utterly confused. The rest of the crowd was equally baffled.

Everyone looked at Yan Long in shock. Is this guy’s head full of shit? Ye Xiu thought, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. The move itself is clever, but as Heaven Net’s person in charge and Xuanse’s representative on Biluo Island, openly poaching from the Necromancers Association would make Black Water Nation despise Xuanse. This guy is a professional at sabotaging his own country...

”Hmph, Yan Long, save it. Everyone in the Necromancers Association is utterly loyal and would never betray me...”

Bruce was about to mock Yan Long, but he was proven wrong before he could even finish.

”I formally withdraw from the Necromancers Association and join Heaven Net!”

”Me too!”

”I’ve had enough of the Necromancers Association!”

”Hmph, we came here to fight the three Judicator Families, not for infighting. The Necromancers Association doesn’t deserve my loyalty.”

Watching as large droves of Necromancers Association members announced their defection to Heaven Net and flocked to Yan Long’s side, Bruce’s face twisted with fury. Ye Xiu was amused. The Necromancers Association originally had over 15,000 members, but after Yan Long’s stunt, only a few hundred remained. The members of the Necromancers Association had been lured there by Bruce and the Official Families of Black Water Nation with high prices and irresistible benefits. It wasn’t surprising that these people, who cared little for loyalty, would betray them now.

”Um, can I leave the Xuan Ming Sect and join Heaven Net?” someone from the Xuan Ming Sect’s ranks asked.

Galava, who was in the middle of being beaten, was flabbergasted.

”Sure can!” Yan Long said gleefully.

And so, the situation completely spiraled out of control and devolved into chaos.

”I’m leaving the Xuan Ming Sect to join Heaven Net!”

”I’m joining Heaven Net, too!”

The leaders of major global organizations watched as their members defected to Heaven Net one after another, practically steaming with rage.

Ye Xiu’s face darkened. How did things escalate to this? That guy Yan Long is like a mouse dropping in a pot of soup; he ruins everything!

”Haha, hahaha...” Yan Long, getting carried away, burst into a wild laugh. ”Now Heaven Net will be the number one Martial Artist organization in the world! Hahaha... ahem... hahahaha...”

The Eight Great National Protector War Gods and the other members of Heaven Net, however, couldn’t bring themselves to celebrate. After what Yan Long just pulled, all the nations of the world will surely form a coalition against Xuanse.

”What a god-tier screw-up,” Ye Xiu muttered, completely exasperated.

Qing Luan leaned over and whispered, ”Mr. Ye, you better think of something fast. At this rate, all the countries of the world will unite to sanction Xuanse.”

Ye Xiu’s head felt three sizes too big. Yan Long has made such a mess of things; what could I possibly do to fix it?

Suddenly, an idea struck him. Just as he was about to announce his solution, his phone buzzed. It was a text from Qin Qing: ”Come back quick! Something major has happened!”

Ye Xiu’s heart sank. If Qin Qing is sending a message about a major incident now, it must be truly serious. Mo Luo and Dizang’s intelligence agents must have discovered something.

”Senior Wang, please take everyone to the Abandoned City Gym. Huang Quan will have an announcement shortly.”

Ye Xiu could no longer be bothered with punishing Bruce or cleaning up Yan Long’s mess. After speaking to Wang Jianhan, he tossed Tu La, Lin Chuan, and Cha Muxue onto Pepi the Pig’s back, hopped on himself, and urged the creature into Abandoned City.

The scene left the crowd both baffled and impressed. What happened to punishing Bruce? Why did he just run off?

Qing Luan panicked. Is Huang Quan so incensed by Yan Long that he’s abandoning Xuanse?
