“Is this the Hundred Wards Tower?” Yi Yi looked around in shock. “The World Spiritual Qi is very pure.”

Knowledge in the Way of Wards wasn’t the only reward given by the tower. After a cultivator passed a test, a lot of World Spiritual Qi would be released to help the cultivator restore his energy and get prepared for the next challenge.

Lu Ye had fallen into a dazed state as a large amount of information rushed into his mind. The space the size of a room was filled with a white mist, which was the World Spiritual Qi.

Yi Yi had been to many places with Lu Ye, so she was no longer an inexperienced girl.

She had been to Tertius-level as well as Primus-level Arcane Glades. What surprised her was that the World Spiritual Qi in this place was much purer than that in a Primus-level Arcane Glade. Usually, one would have to use an Amulet to get this kind of World Spiritual Qi.

She gave it a try and realised her speculation was right. Even if the World Spiritual Qi here wasn’t as good as what one would get after using an Amulet, it wasn’t very different. It could be absorbed quickly to enhance one’s heritage.

This kind of cultivation environment was a dream come true for any cultivator.

Therefore, Yi Yi started cultivating without hesitation.

Beside her, with the help of Soul Cleansing Water, Lu Ye’s soul no longer felt so painful. The knowledge in the Way of Wards he had just absorbed was completely new to him.

However, he wasn’t in a rush to explore it. Instead, he built a Spirit Gathering Funnel first.

Now, it wasn’t difficult for him to build a Spirit Gathering Funnel. It could be said that the funnel would take shape as soon as a thought formed in his mind.

After the funnel appeared, his body was now able to absorb the Spirit Mist around him. As the funnel increased in size, his suction power was strengthened as well. In the end, he seemed to have turned into a vortex as the Spirit Mist gusted towards him and disappeared.

Although he had already speculated that the World Spiritual Qi in the tower would be pure, he was still surprised by what he saw.

This kind of cultivation efficiency, which was similar to the experience of using an Amulet, was what he needed the most at that moment.

His soul was significantly more powerful than his physique, which was a hidden concern. If he could increase his cultivation in the tower, he could solve the hidden concern.

Building a Spirit Gathering Funnel to restore his energy had helped him tremendously on many occasions.

It was especially helpful at this moment.

Even if the average Ward Cultivator managed to pass the test and acquire a reward, he would have to quickly restore his energy. During this process, he had to be fully focused and couldn’t do anything else.

Only when he fully recovered would he have time to comprehend the reward. In that case, he wasn’t left with much time, and his mastery certainly wouldn’t improve much in a short time, which would affect his performance on the next floor.

As such, since time immemorial, even if a cultivator was able to evoke the tower’s resonance, he could only do it once. No one had been able to revoke the tower’s resonance two to three times.

However, Lu Ye was different. After he finished building the funnel, the Spirit Mist around him would automatically stream into his body while he focused on comprehending the reward given by the tower. Hence, he had more time than the other cultivators to enhance his mastery with the help of the reward.

Time went by as he concentrated on what he was doing. There came a moment when the Spirit Mist around him vanished all of a sudden.

Realising something, Lu Ye came to his senses and discovered that the time was up. He was supposed to go to the next floor.

He calculated and realised that six hours had passed since he entered the tower, which was similar to his previous experience in the tower in the Heavenly Derivative Sect.

Every floor had a six-hour time limit. Anyone who could pass the test within the time limit would get a reward from the tower. Therefore, if one passed the test using less time, the reward he would get would be greater, and he would also have more time to comprehend the reward and restore his energy.

It only took Lu Ye an hour to pass the test on the first floor, and the rest of the time was spent absorbing the benefits.

The River of Spiritual Power in his body seemed to have grown in size, and his mastery of the Way of Wards had improved substantially. The reward that was unbearable for his soul had brought him unimaginable benefits.

Certainly, he couldn’t absorb everything within six hours, but it had allowed his mastery of the Way of Wards to be enhanced massively, which made it easier for him to take on the next challenge.

Lu Ye had the confidence to achieve that.

Without a need for Lu Ye to say anything, Yi Yi returned to Amber’s body. On the other hand, Amber reluctantly walked up to Lu Ye, who picked the tiger up and stuffed it into the Spirit Beast Bag.

When he was done with that, he felt he was being teleported. Soon, he arrived at a small space similar to the previous one, and there was a protruding brick on the wall.

Since Lu Ye was in a hurry, he strode towards the brick and pressed his hand against it without hesitation.

As the brick sank into the wall, the view around him changed. He soon appeared in an open area.

A dot of light appeared all of a sudden. He pointed at the light and received a message in his mind.

The test this time was about building a ward according to the requirements given by the tower. He was asked to set up the Circle of Boon, which wasn’t hard to build.

In truth, the Circle of Boon was the very first ward that Lu Ye had learned because he had acquired Gathering Spirits Glyph pretty early on.

However, there was no way the test in Hundred Wards Tower was easy. There were requirements about the coverage of the ward, the number of Ward Flags needed, and the effect it had to achieve.

There was a minimum standard to meet if he wanted to pass the test.

Given Lu Ye’s mastery of the Way of Wards, it wasn’t hard for him to reach the minimum standard. The moment he learned about what the test was, several solutions formed in his mind.

Certainly, he wouldn’t be happy with meeting only the minimum standard. After all, the better he could perform, the greater the reward he would get.

After giving it some thought, he soon had an idea and started taking action.

He shot the Ward Flags forward in different directions and built the basic framework of the ward. Then, he activated the Gathering Spirits Glyph and formed the core of the ward. As he activated his power, the strength of his soul allowed him to accurately control the subtle changes of his Spiritual Power. Intricate patterns took shape in the framework, which turned into an embryonic form of the ward.

To him, the test on this floor was easier than the previous one as it would take him less effort.

Therefore, the Circle of Boon took shape in just one hour. When the Glyph was completed, the entire ward was activated and started running.

The view around him changed and shattered like a bubble before he reappeared in the closed space.

A large amount of World Spiritual Qi appeared out of thin air. There was also a fluorescent light.

He had already made the decision earlier. Therefore, he immediately released Amber from the Spirit Beast Bag. Without any reminder, Yi Yi emerged and fished out the jade bottle with Soul Cleansing Water before waiting solemnly.

As they exchanged glances, she nodded.

Only then did Lu Ye point at the light, which shattered and descended upon him like a galaxy.

Outside the tower, the cultivators who gathered in this place were excited because there was only an interval of one hour between two rounds of resonance on this day. This was unprecedented, and they were all talking about it.

When Lu Ye arrived earlier, these cultivators were either having a friendly competition or discussing the Way of Wards. Some also closed their eyes and meditated.

However, at this moment, all of them came together and seemed to be discussing something loudly.

This was a rare incident.

Usually, when they conversed, they would keep their voices low so as not to disturb the others. Nevertheless, they broke the rule this time because of the consecutive rounds of resonance, and they seemed to be at ease.

Although they weren’t the ones who evoked the resonance, they were proud to witness it.

Some cultivators even stood in front of the entrance and asked anyone who left the tower if the person was the one who had evoked the resonance. Nevertheless, they couldn’t get any definitive answer.

A young man in a green robe said, “It’s a shame that we have no idea who caused the resonance. If we can find out their identities, we’ll learn something from them.”

Anyone who could evoke the tower’s resonance would certainly become a master in the Way of Wards one day. It was only natural that they were willing to strike up a relationship with such a person, and it wasn’t embarrassing to learn the Way of Wards from him.

Which side the person came from no longer seemed to be important, given the unique environment at Hundred Wards Tower. All the cultivators here were eager to learn everything about the Way of Wards.

It was a shame that the people outside the tower had no idea who caused the resonance, and even the people inside the tower wouldn’t know that either.

“Cultivator Luo has passed the 50th floor, so his future is bright. I don’t think he’s less capable than anyone else.” Someone fawned over a cultivator surnamed Luo.

Hundred Wards Tower on the Cloud River Battlefield started from the 34th floor. Cultivator Luo had reached the 50th floor, so his achievement was pretty remarkable. One had to know that many cultivators in this place hadn’t even reached the 40th floor before.

The way they took on the challenges in the tower was different from Lu Ye’s. They would usually take on one floor at a time. If one failed in his attempt, he would be chased out of the tower. Even if a person succeeded, the pressure on his soul and the exhaustion he felt would force him to leave the tower first. When he was ready, he would enter the tower again.

The tower would record the last floor where they successfully passed the test. The next time they entered, they would directly go to the next floor.

Besides the tower on the Cloud River Battlefield, it was the same case for the one in the Heavenly Derivative Sect. Therefore, the fact that Lu Ye passed through all 33 floors in one go sent a shock wave across the Sect.

However, no one else was aware of this incident because the Sect Master Yu Xiao and the Chief Elder Bai Qian forced all the disciples who knew about the incident to take a Heavenly Oath that compelled them not to spread the news of Lu Ye taking on the challenges in Hundred Wards Tower.
