Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Stepping inside the celestial gate, Xuan Hao found himself being transported through a spatial passage that was far more stable than the spatial passages of the other celestial gates he had passed through. Making it clear just how much of a better state this celestial gate was in compared to the other celestial gates he had entered in the past.

For the first time, he didn’t feel any sense of worry as he soon found himself on the other side of the spatial passage on top of a small mountain in the middle of a vast mountain range that stretched as far as his divine sense could reach.

Given the thundercloud that had surrounded the celestial gate, it was rather obvious that the trial inside the celestial gate should be related to the Dao of Lightning… And looking up at the sea of lightning above the mountain range, filled to the brim with all kinds of unique demon beasts, he guessed that the goal of the celestial trial should be related to the sea of lightning above the mountain range.

Finding the scroll of trials of the celestial trial would be helpful to getting a better understanding of the trial, but it wasn’t something he expected to do with ease, as the trial seemed more like the first few celestial trials he had gone through where finding the scroll of trials involved having to search for it.

Of course, none of this mattered that much to Xuan Hao for now, as he was far more interested in the demon beasts moving around in the sea of lightning above him.

After all, his main goal of entering the celestial trial outside of completing the system quest was to test out his new strength… And the demon beasts in the sea of lightning above were perfect for this, as their strength ranged between the Soul Ascension Realm all the way up to the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Even if it was a bit of a disappointment that none of the demon beasts seemed to have reached the Profound Immortal Realm like the lightning serpent living just outside the celestial trial, he wasn’t too disappointed, as he spotted no less than five demon beasts in the Celestial Immortal Realm, three in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, while the other two were in the Middle Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Although there wasn’t any in the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm and their strength should be below someone in the Sea Formation Realm, taking on five demon beasts in the Celestial Immortal Realm would undoubtedly be far more difficult than taking on a single demon beast in the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Even then… Given the difference in realm between them, escaping in case something went wrong would be far simpler in case the situation became dangerous for him. Especially considering that he clearly felt his control over the space around him had been suppressed to some extent. Making it more difficult to wield the Dao of Space.

Rooar!

Just as he was lost in his own thoughts observing the demon beasts in the sea of lightning above, one of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beasts also noticed him, as it let out a loud roar before charging down towards him filled with killing intent. Showing no signs of the intelligence that should have been present in a demon beast that had reached the Celestial Immortal Realm.

”A ferocious beast?” Muttering this to himself as he saw the reckless charge of one of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beasts, Xuan Hao could not help recalling the title used for demon beasts that were unable to develop their intelligence and remained nothing more than wild beasts even after their cultivation realm surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm.

Although ferocious beasts weren’t that rare and could be found everywhere across the continent, it was the first time Xuan Hao encountered such a powerful ferocious beast, causing him to feel a sense of danger that he hadn’t felt for a long time.

After all, ferocious beasts were known to be stronger and more aggressive compared to their more intelligent counterpart.

The lightning serpent outside the celestial gate was a clear example of this, as even though it didn’t communicate with him, it clearly understood that it wouldn’t be wise to attack him.

If it had been a ferocious beast, it would have directly attacked him without a single care in the world the moment he had appeared anywhere near the thunderclouds, a kind of aggressive behavior that would properly have gotten it killed far before he even appeared in the first place…

Shaking his head as he thought about this, Xuan Hao slowly lifted one of his hands before making a simple fist, which along with the slight motion of his hand clenching into a fist, caused the spiritual sea inside his dantian to manifest behind him before seemingly moving along his fist as he threw out a simple punch towards the approaching ferocious beast-

RUUUMBLE-!

The terrifying power carried by his fist enhanced by his spiritual sea causing the surrounding mountains to tremble violently, while the one directly beneath him was directly blown apart by the terrifying pressure of his seemingly simple attack.

SCREEECH!

Not at all fearful in the face of this attack, the ferocious beast descended from the sea of lightning. Revealing its true form to be that of a towering bird coated in a layer of lightning with a wingspan of more than two hundred meters, as its massive talon covered in lightning moved down towards Xuan Hao’s fist with a terrifying speed-

BOOOOOOM-!

Screech!?

And only a second later, it found itself being knocked into the distance, as its sharp talons broke apart under Xuan Hao’s fist.

”So powerful… Just using my spiritual sea alone without any other techniques or abilities, I should be able to kill someone in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm.” Looking into the distance of the terrifying lightning bird as he said this to himself, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a sense of profound shock over what had just happened.

Only relying on the spiritual sea’s enhancement, he had been able to knock a ferocious beast in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm flying.

If he were to combine it with his sword arts… Killing someone in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm would not take more than a few moves. Potentially even killing them in a single move if he could catch them off guard.

Of course, his main opponent this time around wasn’t just a single ferocious beast in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm. Instead, it was five ferocious beasts, all in the Celestial Immortal Realm, two of them even reaching the Middle Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm-

ROOOOAR-!

RAWR!

SCREEECH!

And from the distinct roaring sounds that echoed out from the sea of lightning above, it was clear that the clash just now had drawn their full attention, as they all descended towards him together.

”Two more birds, a winged serpent of some kind and- Huh? A three headed floating turtle!? And it spews fire…?”

Looking at the four new ferocious beasts that descended from above, Xuan Hao could not help taking an extra look at the one that didn’t quite seem to fit in with the theme of flying beasts that the rest were abiding by.

Not just fitting in with the theme, it wasn’t even lightning-related but was instead covered in a layer of magma as it began spewing out flames in his direction the moment it appeared.

Swish~

Seeing the approaching flames, Xuan Hao casually moved his hand as he used the Dao of Ice and Dao of Yin in tandem with each other to conjure up a towering wall of ice in front of himself to block the flames of the three headed floating turtle, causing a loud sizzling sound to echo throughout the mountain range as the flames slowly melted through the ice.

However, given Xuan Hao’s deep comprehension of both the Dao of Ice and the Dao of Yin, the flame only made it a little over a dozen meters into the more than a hundred-meter-thick wall of ice before being snuffed out by the overwhelming freezing power of the ice wall.

ROOOAR-!

Even with this, the three headed floating turtle wasn’t the slightest bit intimidated, as its massive body soon crashed headfirst into the towering ice wall. Intending to directly smash through it-

Crack~!

And indeed, with its massive size and the layer of magma filled with the pure essences of the Dao of Fire coating its entire body, it soon caused the towering ice wall to crack apart and break.

Whoosh~

Unfortunately for the three headed turtle, Xuan Hao had already moved away from his previous position by the time the ice wall broke apart-

BANG-!

Causing it to crash headfirst into the ground without any target…

”Not that intelligent indeed…” Watching the three headed turtle rolling on the ground, Xuan Hao could not help smiling a bit wryly to himself as he turned his attention towards the other three ferocious beasts.

At the very least, compared to the reckless three headed turtle, they seemed to be a bit more intelligent and didn’t just smash into the ice wall without a second thought…
