Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Outside of the rabbit demon beast that had managed to contribute a lot to the development of the sect with the establishment of its merchant group, the winged lion demon beast also helped the sect by ensuring that the demon beasts under the control of the sect were obedient.

Although its assistance was nowhere near the same level as the rabbit demon beast, it ultimately still helped with the development of the sect and earned it a few extra cultivation resources from Elder Song.

Unfortunately, the resources both demon beasts required at their current cultivation realm weren’t something that the Star Shattering Sect could contribute without affecting its internal distribution of resources. For this reason, both would have to find their own way of gathering the required cultivation resources.

The rabbit demon beast had already been successful in this endeavor, while the winged lion demon beast was still lacking a bit behind, as it was still busy breaking through to the Dao Seed Realm.

Of course, after it broke through, it would have to put in work for the sect to earn the resources it needed to continue smoothly advancing its cultivation, something that the other Dao Seed Realm cultivators of the sect were already doing, either through teaching the younger elders and disciples or through helping manage a part of the sect, like Pei Yang who was now in control of the sect’s Alchemy Hall.

Although… Given that the winged lion demon beast couldn’t really teach the sect disciples or run a section of the sect like Pei Yang was doing, the only real way for it to earn the resources it would want after breaking through to the Dao Seed Realm would be by going to the sect’s borders with the Frozen Wasteland to hunt down demonic cultivators.

After all, by hunting down demonic cultivators, it would not only earn contribution points that could be used for cultivation resources, but it would also be able to consume the demonic cultivators, something that it had become capable of doing without any side effects after it consumed part of the massive demonic being that it had encountered at the borders of the sect the last time it had been guarding the borders of the sect against demonic cultivators.

Though it had been about to become a full-fledged demonic beast back then, it had managed to get it under control with its master’s help and had in return gained this new ability that allowed it to consume the demonic cultivators without having to worry about the powerful yin qi corrupting or damaging it…

As the situation in the Star Shattering Sect continued to pass by peacefully without any significant events taking place, a few months quietly flew by as the new disciples of the sect slowly got used to life in the sect and fully integrated into becoming disciples of the Star Shattering Sect.

During this time, the winged lion demon beast finally managed to overcome its bottleneck and break through to the Dao Seed Realm. Following in the footsteps of the rabbit demon beast, it also left the sect to seek opportunities to earn a lot of spirit stones. Soon enough, finding itself becoming the main guardian in charge of ensuring the safety of the disciples at the borders of the Frozen Wastelands, something that it had already done in the past.

The main difference compared to before was that the strength of the demonic cultivators present had clearly increased significantly.

Where True Demon Realm demonic cultivators had been rare to see in the past, there were now easily dozens of them roaming the borders of the Star Shattering Sect looking for an opportunity to break through and enter the sect’s territory.

Not just that, but when the winged lion demon beast moved to the borders, it ended up finding a Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator trying to sneak inside the sect’s territory. Forcing it to intervene. Resulting in a massive battle that made the demonic cultivators understand that while they were also increasing the strength of the people at the borders, so was the Star Shattering Sect.

After all, in the eyes of the demonic cultivators, the slow increase in strength was another way to test the boundaries of the Star Shattering Sect.

If the sect continued to increase their strength alongside them, that would mean they were serious about defending the territory they had claimed, while if they remained weak without any powerful guardian watching over them, it would present a weakness for the demonic cultivators to take advantage of.

Of course, it was not that the demonic cultivators wanted to start a fight with the Star Shattering Sect, it was just them testing their willingness to defend some of the territories that they had recently expanded into.

In the eyes of the demonic cultivators, a weakness shown by a hidden ancient sect like the Star Shattering Sect would mean that they simply didn’t care about whether they took that section of their territory or not. After all, with the strength of an ancient hidden sect, they would have dispatched stronger cultivators if they intended to defend that part of their territory.

Now, with the appearance of the winged lion demon beast, it was clear that the Star Shattering Sect intended to protect their new territory, thus the demonic cultivators began to slowly move away some of the powerful demonic cultivators that they had secretly moved to the borders of the Star Shattering Sect.

Unknowingly, the appearance of the winged lion demon beast had saved the Star Shattering Sect from losing the territory that they had recently managed to gain after the smaller kingdoms next to them collapsed under the relentless attack of the demonic cultivators.

As for the winged lion demon beast… Outside of engaging in a Dao Seed Realm level battle, it didn’t do much and slowly slipped back into its former lazy lifestyle on top of one of the larger mountains bordering the Frozen Wasteland.

…

”So, the little lion finally managed to break through to the Dao Seed Realm…”

[Pets: Lazy Winged Lion (Early Stage of the Dao Seed Realm), Rabbit Demon Beast (Early Stage of the Dao Seed Realm)]

Back in the Star Shattering Sect, Xuan Hao silently smiled to himself as he looked through the section of his status where his pets were located.

Now that both of them had managed to break through to the Dao Seed Realm, the overall strength of the sect had grown and it wouldn’t be difficult for it to defend its borders with the winged lion demon beast protecting against the demonic cultivators from the Frozen Wastelands and the ancestor of the Zhang Clan defending the other parts of the sect’s borders together with his clan’s Soul Ascension Realm elders.

When it came to a major power on the continent, this could be considered the normal level of border defense, as those above the Dao Seed Realm would normally only be stationed close to the borders in case of war. An apt example would be the Blue Sea Empire, that normally had Soul Ascension Realm cultivators in charge of border defense along with a few Dao Seed Realm cultivators, but now had several Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators mobilized for border defense due to the demonic cultivators.

It wasn’t wrong to say that it was close to impossible for someone to sneak inside the Blue Sea Empire without being proficient in the Dao of Space.

It was also for this reason that the Blue Sea Empire and other major powers suspected that Xuan Gui had secretly infiltrated the Blue Sea Empire before the start of the battle with the demonic cultivators, as it would have been impossible for her to enter their territory if she hadn’t done so.

Smiling a bit to himself as he thought about Xuan Gui who still seemed to be evading the Blue Sea Empire while causing no small degree of damage to them in the process, Xuan Hao could not help wondering whether or not the Blue Sea Empire had lost patience with her and secretly dispatched a Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator to chase after her.

Of course, even if that was the case, catching her wouldn’t be simple, as the size of the Blue Sea Empire was massive and even someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm would need a long time to search through its vast territory. Not to mention, Xuan Gui wouldn’t sit still and would already know that she was being chased.

”Anyway, if she really finds herself caught up in a deadly situation, I wouldn’t mind lending her a hand and helping her get out safely…” Muttering this to himself as he glanced over towards his communication talisman, Xuan Hao slowly closed his eyes as he returned to comprehending the Dao of the Sword.

Over the past few months, he had already managed to reach the Peak of the Large Success Realm in the Dao of the Sword and was only a single step away from the Perfection Realm, similar to his comprehension of the Dao of Ice.
