Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling the presence of a Dao Seed Realm cultivator rapidly approaching him, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit relieved.

The fact that the person coming over towards him was not the guardian in charge of guarding the city but instead just someone in the Dao Seed Realm clearly indicated to him that the other party should not be aware of his strength and should have only be seeking him out to try and figure out the source of the problem that had occurred with the formation.

Although this was still bad, as he would end up being closely followed and scrutinized by someone in the Dao Seed Realm, it was far better than having someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm come to interrogate him.

Feeling relaxed as he felt the other party coming to a stop not too far away from him, Xuan Hao decided to pretend that he hadn’t noticed the other party as he continued moving through the streets of the city like nothing had happened.

Of course, given that he was now being closely followed, he couldn’t go about trying to recruit Soul Ascension Realm cultivators to join the Star Shattering Sect, as he would have to at least reveal some of his strength when doing so. Instead, he decided to turn his attention towards searching for information on the three Dao Seed Realm cultivators that had managed to elude him so far.

To the Dao Seed Realm cultivator observing him from the outside, he looked no different from any other wandering cultivator in the Domain Lord Realm who had arrived in the Dragon Tooth Mountain City for the first time and was curiously trying to learn about the different powerful wandering cultivators he would have to keep an eye out for when entering the Dragon Tooth Mountain in the future.

After all, outside of the dangers of the mountain itself, there was also the secondary danger of other cultivators who had all come to the mountain for a similar purpose.

Learning about the strongest cultivators was a good idea for anyone planning on visiting the mountain, so even though Xuan Hao ended up spending all his time asking around about different cultivators. Gathering information in the process. None of it caught the attention of formation master Jing, quietly observing him from the shadows while he moved around the city…

”This… Is there really nothing special about this person? If he was hiding his cultivation base, he should have noticed me approaching and reacted, but, even if he is just pretending, I can’t find any mistakes in his cultivation base…” Muttering this to herself as she observed Xuan Hao from head to toe as he walked through the city chatting with other wandering cultivators every now and then to gather information on different powerful wandering cultivators, Jing couldn’t help feeling frustrated as she was making no progress in figuring out the cause of the problem that had caused the momentary failure of the guardian formation.

Although she really wanted to just swoop down and grab Xuan Hao at this very moment and get some clue as to where the problem had come from, she also understood that this was unrealistic.

Not because she was unable to subdue him or anything, but because she had already managed to get what she could from observing him secretly over the past few hours.

Outside of being a bit more cautious than normal, he wasn’t that different from the countless other Domain Lord Realm wandering cultivators she had seen passing through the city whenever she visited herself.

Even if she caught him and tried to interrogate him, she wouldn’t gain anything other than possibly drawing the ire of the Explorer Union. After all, most of the wandering cultivators were part of the Explorer Union and the Crimson Dragon Empire had a deal in place with the Explorer Union to allow their members and others to freely explore the Dragon Tooth Mountains without interference.

Of course, the Crimson Dragon Empire had permission to bar anyone they deemed an enemy from entering the Dragon Tooth Mountain and could limit the strength of those entering to the Dao Seed Realm or below and- She didn’t really know much more about the deal between the Explorer Union and the Crimson Dragon Empire, but she understood it would be best to avoid conflicts with the wandering cultivators if possible.

For this reason, she continued watching Xuan Hao for another few hours without any change before finally deeming it to be a hopeless endeavor and leaving to do something more productive, that being checking out the gate where the problem had first appeared.

Although the chance of her finding anything was low considering that the damage had already been automatically fixed by the guardian formation, she decided to still try her luck to see if she could find anything.

Even if what she found was just a few bits of qi left behind, it might help her figure out what had happened.

Speaking of the formation, she had attempted to use it to scan Xuan Hao’s cultivation base discreetly during the time she had observed him to see if she could recreate the problem.

However, the result always ended up coming back the same, showing him as someone in the Domain Lord Realm.

With that in mind, she had already silently concluded that the one at fault shouldn’t have been Xuan Hao, but should have been something different, he just happened to be there at the wrong time. Which in turn resulted in him becoming the main suspect for the error that had occurred with the formation…

Whoosh~

”Hm? Finally left.”

At the same time Jing left after finding nothing wrong with him, the person in question silently smiled to himself. Understanding that he had managed to clear himself off any suspension for now, as the other party should be off to try another way to find out what had happened.

Of course, this was only a momentary break, as he understood that the other party would almost certainly figure out something if they continued to investigate him, but… That didn’t matter, he had managed to buy himself some more time inside of the city to look for potential elders for the sect.

More importantly, he had managed to track down the location of one of the three Dao Seed Realm cultivators he had been looking for as a potential sect elder...
