Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Following after the group of escaping Domain Lord Realm cultivators as they crossed over into the Eastern Region, Xuan Hao soon spotted another group of Domain Lord Realm cultivators hidden in the direction that the group with the flying worms chasing after them were escaping.

Not just that, but the hidden group of Domain Lord Realm cultivators were all anxiously staring off in the direction of the approaching group as they worked on a massive formation hidden throughout the environment stretching over a dozen kilometers around them.

”So… Those people are the bait, and they intend on using that formation to kill off the worms in a surprise attack, but… This is close to a thousand Domain Lord Realm demon beasts. Even with a formation in place for an ambush and a little over 30 Domain Lord Realm cultivators on their side, they shouldn’t be able to kill off so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts…” Muttering this to himself as he grasped what was happening, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit confused, as he really couldn’t see how these few Domain Lord Realm cultivators planned on taking down so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts.

Given his current comprehension of the Dao of Formations, he could easily grasp the true strength of the formation they had set up and though impressive, it was far from enough to deal with so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts. At most they would be able to deal with a hundred or so with the element of surprise on their side.

A thousand Domain Lord Realm demon beasts… Even someone at the Pinnacle of the Soul Ascension Realm would have to tread carefully faced with such an overwhelming number, let alone these few Domain Lord Realm cultivators.

For this reason alone, Xuan Hao could not help feeling even more interested in what was going to happen, as the confidence in these Domain Lord Realm cultivators was clear for all to see. Making him wonder just what it was that they were relying on, as there was no way what he had seen from them so far would be enough to deal with the horde of Domain Lord Realm demon beasts.

”NOOOW-!

And as Xuan Hao watched the escaping Domain Lord Realm cultivators reach the formation before one of them called out to those hidden in the dark, the formation that had remained hidden so far sprang into action. Sealing off the surroundings before countless blades materialized and swept down towards the unsuspecting Domain Lord Realm demon beasts.

Ptsh-!

Ptsh-!

Ptsh-!

Taken by surprise, more than a dozen demon beasts fell without any chance to fight back-

ROOOOAR-!

Roar!

Roooaaaar-!

However, this surprise attack did not last for long, as a second later, the remaining demon beasts realized what was happening as they joined forces and attacked the formation together.

BOOOOOOOM-!

CRAAAACK-!

Faced with the combined attack of a little under a thousand demon beasts in the Domain Lord Realm, the formation stood no chance of holding them for long, as it directly broke apart under the terrifying might that would even leave someone at the Pinnacle of the Soul Ascension Realm shivering in fear.

Whoosh~!

Whoosh~!

Whoosh~!

However, the group of Domain Lord Realm cultivators didn’t seem to care about this, as they had used the moment while the demon beasts were busy attacking the formation to sweep down and collect the bodies of the demon beasts that had ended up dying before taking off and joining the rest to escape again.

The difference compared to the first time around where they were filled with confidence was that they were now in a state of both excitement and nervousness, as they escaped as fast as possible in a planned and organized manner. All moving towards a single location, while the demon beasts behind them soon picked up on what was happening and resumed their chase.

”Their goal was the bodies of the demon beasts? Hm… Indeed, Domain Lord Realm demon beast bodies are valuable materials for both artifact refining, alchemy, formations and many other things, but can they really escape after enraging the demon beasts to this extend?”

Realizing that the goal of these Domain Lord Realm cultivators was to kill off some of the demon beasts for their valuable bodies before escaping, Xuan Hao felt a bit doubtful on how they would be escaping from their current situation.

After all, while they had managed to get their hands on the bodies of a little over a dozen Domain Lord Realm demon beasts, the distance between them and the demon beasts had shrunk to the point where some of the slower Domain Lord Realm cultivators were forced to fend off their attacks every now and then. Slowing them down and resulting in them being attacked by more demon beasts as they continued to escape.

Even the fastest among the Domain Lord Realm cultivators seemed to be about to get dragged into a life and death battle during his escape, as the strongest among the flying worm demon beasts had set their eyes on him and ignored some of the other weaker Domain Lord Realm cultivators present to target him and prevent him from escaping while the others were taken care of by the weaker Domain Lord Realm demon beasts.

”Hm? A city?”

However, as it looked like the group of escaping Domain Lord Realm cultivators were about to get completely overwhelmed, one of them even having both of his legs bitten off by one of the demon beasts as he continued to desperately escape, Xuan Hao spotted a city appearing in the distance at the edge of his divine sense.

Not just any city, but one that had the presence of multiple Dao Seed Realm cultivators.

”…”

Looking back down at the escaping Domain Lord Realm cultivators after spotting the city in the distance, Xuan Hao instantly understood the goal of these Domain Lord Realm cultivators, they were planning to seek refuge inside the city and rely on the powerful cultivators there to avoid dying to the horde of demon beasts chasing after them.

Although this was risky to do, it was also something that might end up helping them earn a lot of cultivation resources in a rather short period of time.

Not to mention, considering that the demon beasts chasing them were only in the Domain Lord Realm, it wouldn’t really pose any threat to the city and might not even be enough for the Dao Seed Realm cultivators guarding the city to act given that the city had more than enough Soul Ascension Realm cultivators present to handle the horde of Domain Lod Realm demon beasts.

Of course, given how valuable the bodies of demon beasts were and the fact that there wasn’t really any real risk posed to the city itself, those Soul Ascension Realm cultivators and other Domain Lord Realm cultivators might feel more grateful than anything else for them showing up with so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts chasing after them, as it would give them a way to earn a lot of spirit stones or other resources without too much danger involved…

”Looks like those Dao Seed Realm cultivators noticed them.”

As the group of escaping Domain Lords got closer to the city in the distance, Xuan Hao soon felt the divine sense of the Dao Seed Realm cultivators inside of the city sweeping over him and the rest of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators and demon beasts.

Of course, to ensure he didn’t cause any problems, he had disguised himself as a random Domain Lord Realm cultivator who just so happened to see what was happening and was currently observing the situation from afar without giving away his position.

After all, though his strength was far greater than those people, he wasn’t fully confident in being able to fully conceal himself.

So, with that in mind, he decided to just pretend to be a random Domain Lord Realm cultivator and avoid attracting any unwanted attention.

Not that it was that unrealistic considering that there were indeed a few other Domain Lord Realm cultivators who had been attracted by the commotion and were currently watching the situation playing out from a safe distance without revealing themselves, there was even one who had reached the Soul Ascension Realm hidden above the group of demon beasts. Ready to strike at any moment to get his hands on the precious bodies of the demon beasts- or the treasures of the escaping Domain Lord Realm cultivators.

Rumble~!

However, this situation would not last for long, as the city with the Dao Seed Realm cultivators inside of it soon appeared in the distance… And along with that, countless Domain Lord Realm and Soul Ascension Realm cultivators began swarming out of the city before rushing towards the horde of approaching demon beasts.

Clearly, the Dao Seed Realm cultivators in the city had informed those below them about the situation, causing them to rush out for the opportunity to earn some easy spirit stones from the approaching demon beasts…
