Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”How in the world is this even possible…” Muttering this to herself as she began to seriously inspect the formation core in front of her, there was a hint of worry on her face.

Although she could fix some issues that might arise with the Saint Realm Formation, she also understood that it would be impossible for her to fix it if the issue was something that had affected the core of the formation.

If the core of the formation had really ended up being affected to some degree, it would no longer be anything she could handle, as she would have to directly contact the higher ups of the empire for help… And given that she had intended on finishing things fast before leaving for an important opportunity that might help her progress further in the Dao of Formations, she felt unwilling to face a situation where she would have to contact others for help.

After all, contacting others for help would also mean that she herself would likely get swept up in the situation and become unable to leave before the problems with the formation was figured out and fixed.

A responsibility she wouldn’t be able to escape given that she herself had been the one to volunteer to be the one watching over the formation guarding the Dragon Tooth Mountain City.

In the past, she had even fought with her peers for the chance to become the one to watch over the formation, it was after all a recently established formation by a Second Heaven Saint.

Not only should it be far more stable than other formations and require less attention, but it was also an opportunity to observe the Dao of Second Heaven Saint. An opportunity that was hard to come by under normal circumstances.

However, the opportunity that she had benefited from for over a dozen years without any problems, suddenly ended up becoming a problem at the most inconvenient time…

Feeling herself getting more and more nervous as she continued looking into the formation core without finding the reason for its sudden malfunction, it didn’t take long before she homed in on the person who had caused the problem to take place in the first place.

From a glance, it was just a Domain Lord Realm cultivator, but when the formation had attempted to scan that person’s cultivation base like everyone else who entered the city, some kind of error had occurred, causing a brief malfunction in the formation that was soon automatically fixed before the formation resumed ordinary function.

If not for the fact that the formation had re-scanned that person’s cultivation base after fixing itself and concluded that it was just someone in the Domain Lord Realm, she would have suspected that the other party might have been someone trying to enter the city while secretly hiding their cultivation base.

However, after a day passed without any other clues as to the origin of the problem, she could not help refocusing her attention back on the Domain Lord Realm cultivator who had been the source of the problem in the first place.

No matter how she looked at it, this person was becoming increasingly suspicious… And before long, she decided to personally go and see this person to figure out if he really had something to do with the problem.

Considering that her strength was already in the Dao Seed Realm and her comprehension of the Dao of Formation at the Large Success Realm, she didn’t feel the slightest bit of fear towards the other party.

Inside of the Dragon Tooth Mountain City, she not only had the guardian formation more than capable of resisting someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm to rely on, but she also had Guardian Zhang in deep meditation a few meters behind her.

If something really did end up happening, she didn’t doubt that this seemingly motionless person would immediately spring into action.

On that note, she already felt that her early shock and somewhat frantic behavior had roused the other party from his deep meditation, likely understanding that something might have happened to the formation that he had been unaware of.

”Senior, I will be taking my leave to investigate some matters regarding the stability of the formation. I have some clues to where this problem might have originated and thus will take my leave for now.

Don’t worry, the core of the formation has not been compromised and it’s just one of the smaller auxiliary formations in charge of scanning the cultivation bases of those entering the city that seems to have encountered a small error that it fixed on its own.”

Knowing that the other party was likely curious and observing her, she didn’t forget to inform him about the overall situation before quickly making her way out of the estate. Not forgetting to stress the fact that the core of formation wasn’t harmed in any way and that it was just a small issue that she would be taking care of immediately.

In response to what she said, she soon enough felt like an almost invisible weight that had been bearing down on her second earlier seemed to leave. Making her understand that the senior had heard what she said and acknowledged that she would take care of it on her own.

If it was a more important part of the formation that had been compromised, she might not have been able to escape the constant supervision of that person. Luckily, it was just an auxiliary formation that didn’t affect the overall strength of the guardian formation…

”Now… To find that Domain lord Realm cultivator. Hm… Guess I will just borrow the guardian formation and make my job a bit easier.” Muttering this to herself as she closed her eyes for a moment, the current location of Xuan Hao soon revealed itself to her. Unable to hide from the all-encompassing guardian formation that permeated every corner of the Dragon Tooth Mountain City.

At the same time, she couldn’t help letting out a sigh of relief after realizing that the person she was looking for was still inside the city.

If he had left the city, it would have been far more difficult for her to find him. Not to mention, the risk involved would be high considering that the other party might be someone who had managed to hide their real cultivation base from the guardian formation.

Whoosh~!

Not thinking too deeply about it, she didn’t bother wasting any time, as she directly rushed towards the location of Xuan Hao. Planning to figure out what had caused the problem with the guardian formation as fast as possible.

…

Hm? Someone used the formation to track me!? Could it be that someone already noticed the problem?! But… Wasn’t it supposed to be another few months before someone came to check up on the formation?

At the same time Formation Master Jing used the guardian formation to lock onto his position, Xuan Hao immediately sensed the changes in the guardian formation.

Normally this would have been close to impossible to do even with his comprehension of the Dao of Formations reaching the Large Success Realm, but his comprehension of the Dao of Space in the Perfection Realm allowed him to pick up on some of the minute changes in the space around him when the formation locked onto him.

The problem was…

Even if he knew he was being tracked down by the guardian formation, there wasn’t much he could do about it, as trying to leave the city now would only make him more suspicious. Possibly even resulting in the guardian formation being activated to prevent his escape.

Of course, with his current comprehension of the Dao of Space, there wasn’t much the guardian formation or the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator could do if he wanted to leave.

Even if teleportation inside the city had been restricted, he could simply use the Illusory Light Steps to leave the city before the formation could seal him inside and then escape with Drifting Cloud Steps.

After all, even though teleportation had been made impossible inside Dragon Tooth Mountain City and the area around the city, the area affected was extremely limited and didn’t account for more than a few thousand meters outside of the city itself.

If he left the city, he would be able to make full use of the Dao of Space to come and go as he wished, there was nothing the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator guarding the city would be able to do about. After all, while the Celestial Immortal guarding the city had reached the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Space, it was nowhere near enough to compare to someone who had reached the Perfection Realm.

In a sense, if the other party tried to chase after him, he might even be able to kill the other party by predicting his teleportation route and collapsing space in the location he was moving towards.

The main reason he didn’t want to try, and escape was not because he feared the other party might trap him. Instead, it was because he didn’t want to give up his opportunity to recruit powerful wandering cultivators after finally having found a perfect location for doing so.

Even though it had only been a little over a day and he hadn’t managed to find any of the three Dao Seed Realm cultivators that he was searching for, he had managed to recruit a total of three Soul Ascension Realm wandering cultivators already.

No way he would give up the chance to recruit even more Soul Ascension Realm cultivators if it could be avoided…
