Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

However, as Chu Yang continued staring off in the direction of the mountain range sized sandworm sealed by the enormous chains, he soon discovered that his earlier worries seemed to be for nothing, as no mental attack or other kind of attack ended up coming in his direction. Instead, the work of the human cultivators in the distance continued as they worked together on slowly chipping away at the third major chain holding down the sandworm.

Observing the situation for a little longer, he quickly discovered why, as it seemed like the massive sandworm was currently asleep and didn’t seem to have discovered him like he had first expected upon feeling the terrifying pressure emanating from it.

But… Considering that he could only continue moving in the direction of the sandworm if he wanted to avoid waking up the other sandworms likely sleeping in the sand dunes all around him, Chu Yang didn’t feel too optimistic about his current state, as he would still end up being forced to confront the massive sandworm at some point in time.

Even if it was asleep at the moment and had not noticed him yet, he doubted things would continue like that, as it would inevitably wake up when an unfamiliar presence got too close to it.

If not for the sandworm waking up on its own, the humans currently working on destroying the third chain sealing it might try to attack or catch him. Possibly causing a commotion that either woke up the massive sandworm or the surrounding sandworms.

No matter what, the situation seemed rather bleak for him, and he really didn’t want to risk going any closer to the mountain range sized sandworm if possible.

Unfortunately, going backwards wasn’t possible.

So, with that in mind, Chu Yang found the best way to go about the situation and instead decided to try and circle around the sealed sandworm. Hoping that the fact that he was still moving a bit forward would result in the sandworms around him not waking up, while at the same time ensuring he was still far away from the sealed sandworm.

As for why he didn’t move diagonally away from the sealed sandworm while still moving deeper into the desert… That was because the reaction from the sandworms seemed centered around the sealed sandworm in the middle.

Meaning going too far away from the sealed sandworm would still result in a reaction from the surrounding sandworms sleeping in the sandworms. Having formed a kind of net around the sealed sandworm that now prevented him from leaving without waking up all the sleeping sandworms.

Of course, the reason why he even did this in the first place instead of directly trying to escape was because he still planned on gathering enough special sand for his breakthrough to the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm before leaving the desert.

After all, given that it was now pretty much impossible for him to leave without using one of his two remaining talismans given by his master, he intended to ensure that he got something worth it before leaving.

At least if he reached the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm before leaving the mystic realm, he would have the confidence to escape from the different major powers waiting to catch him once he left the secret realm.

Rustle~

Like that, Chu Yang began to slowly circle the sealed sandworm while moving a bit closer to it every time. Making sure to carefully comb through the sand for any of the special sand along the way, while also making sure to not get discovered by the group of human cultivators.

Luckily, it seemed like the human cultivators didn’t pay the slightest bit of attention to their surroundings and were fully occupied by the third major chain sealing the massive sandworm.

Slowly, the number of special sand grains gathered by Chu Yang started to increase while the days also began to fly by as he inched closer and closer to the sealed sandworm…

”Finally… Ten thousand grains of that sand…”

It was on the ninth day since he started to slowly circle the sealed sandworm that he finally reached his goal of ten thousand grains of sand, just barely enough that it should be able to help him break through to the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

Although now that he had gathered the special sand he needed, he found himself facing another problem he hadn’t expected.

When would he use the special sand to break through to the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm?

At first, he had thought of using it after he had escaped from the desert, but only now did he realize that this might not be possible, as the sandworms might choose to chase him even after he left the desert. Forcing him to directly leave the secret realm if he wanted to avoid being swarmed by a group of Soul Ascension Realm sandworms.

And… After leaving the secret realm, he would be faced with the attack and pursuit of the different major powers waiting for him on the other side. Leaving him no time to attempt a breakthrough to the Ninth Stage of the Domain, Lord Realm, as he would need to keep moving if he wanted to avoid the detection of someone possibly in the Dao Seed Realm.

Even if the neutral region itself was massive, it was difficult for him to hide in a single location with a Dao Seed Realm cultivator potentially chasing after him.

So… My best option would be to breakthrough to the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm now and possible use what is left over from the special sand to quickly stabilize my cultivation realm before escaping…

Thinking about the plan that had rapidly started taking shape as he realized his current precarious situation, Chu Yang could not help smiling somewhat wryly to himself. Understanding that he was about to be in for the most dangerous and reckless escape attempt in his life…
