Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Listening to Mui as she finished talking about what she had been through inside the ancient city, Xuan Hao could not help feeling curious about the place. Even then, it was just a bit of curiosity due to the place possibly being related to people from the Mirage Sect that had managed to survive the attack on the mystic realm.

In terms of importance, the ancient city was far below the celestial gates.

Not just because of the clear help that the celestial gates provided when it came to improving his strength, but also because he had no idea whether or not his current status in the eyes of the ancient formations and preservation golems of the Mirage Sect would transfer to the formations or other kind of protective measures that might be hidden inside the ancient city.

So far, the only real clue he had about it was the ancient golems that had fallen out of the collapsing spatial passage together with the demon beasts they had been chasing after… And those ancient golems didn’t seem to recognize him nor his current status in the eyes of what was left behind by the Mirage Sect.

Even though he only interacted with a few of the ancient golems mentioned by Mui so far, Xuan Hao had a feeling that the rest of the ancient golems and formations in the ancient city ruins wouldn’t be much different.

Of course, the only way for him to find out about it would be to make a trip to the ancient city himself, but… Considering that he had already spent a long time inside the mystic realm and Mui looked more than ready to leave the place, Xuan Hao didn’t intend to stay any longer. Especially because it would at least take him another two weeks to reach the ancient city. Not accounting for the time, he would be exploring the place and the time it would take to reach the exit of mystic realm after he was done…

So, with that in mind, Xuan Hao decided to leave the matter of the ancient city ruins for another time, as he picked up Mui and her demon beasts with his domain before making his way back in the direction of the path out of the mystic realm.

Not forgetting to pick up a certain demonic cultivator that had been aimlessly staring at a few rocks on the ground when he reached him.

To say he was happy would be an understatement, as Su Wuhan almost jumped up in joy after seeing them show up. Clearly happy that he would finally be able to escape from the prison that he had been placed in and go back to serving Elder Dust Fairy and help her expand the Star Shattering Sect’s intelligence network.

No matter how humiliating it might be to follow someone only at the Nascent Soul Realm with his current strength at the True Demon Realm that stood on par with someone in the Soul Ascension Realm. Anything was better than being stuck in the same place without being able to cultivate for over a month, a tortures experience considering that he couldn’t even absorb qi from the air to avoid hunger. Although not deadly, it was still a painful experience.

…

Going back to a little over a month earlier when Xuan Hao had just entered the mystic realm with Mui and the three Celestial Immortal Realm ancestors from the Blue Sea Empire had just found themselves trapped inside the formation set up by the Blood Lotus Demon King. The three Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivators that had been given an important task to complete by the Blood Lotus Demon King all split up in the direction of three different empires bordering the Frozen Wasteland.

Among these empires, one of them was the devasted Onyx Empire that only existed in name at this point in time, while the other two empires bordered the Onyx Empire.

One of these empires was located on the opposite side of the Onyx Empire compared to the Star Shattering Sect, while the second was none other than the chaotic mess of what had once been the Sky Empire.

”Wasn’t there supposed to be an empire here? Did his excellency perhaps make a mistake when he sent me here? How am I supposed to set up a formation like the one wants in a location like this?” Arriving in the chaotic mess that was the remnants of the once great Sky Empire, the demonic cultivator could not help showing a confused expression on his face as he muttered this to himself.

The formation that he had been tasked with secretly drawing up by the Blood Lotus Demon King was one that required a large number of sacrifices inside of it for it to function, but finding such a large gathering of people in one location in the chaotic mess that had been left behind following the fall of the Blue Sea Empire was impossible.

At least, when it came to the Onyx Empire, the Blue Sea Empire would be actively helping rebuild the nation and ensure that it became a stable barrier against the Frozen Wasteland in the future.

The only thing the demonic cultivator sent to that place had to worry about was getting discovered by the people from the Blue Sea Empire who would be overseeing the reconstruction of the Onyx Empire as he drew up the formation, but at least they had all been given a special talisman by the Blood Lotus Demon King that would allow them to hide themselves even from those Celestial Immortals for a period of three months.

Although not that long considering the construction of the formation would take longer than that, it would at least allow them to safely make it through the most dangerous period where the powerful cultivators from the Blue Sea Empire would be the most numerous.

”How troublesome… Looks like I will just have to construct it in the place of the old capital city of the empire here and wait for the Blue Sea Empire to reconstruct the place as well…” In the end, the demonic cultivator decided not to think too much about it as he turned to move in the direction of the capital city of the now destroyed Sky Empire that had been given to him before leaving.

Although the situation of the Sky Empire had not been mentioned by the Blood Lotus Demon King and this particular demonic cultivator had no idea about the local powers of the place, he just thought that the Sky Empire had gone through a similar situation as the Onyx Empire and would soon be rebuilt by the Blue Sea empire as well.

In the end, his job was simply to follow the commands of the Blood Lotus Demon King an lay down the formation that he had been tasked with laying down.

Asking questions was only something that would end up getting him killed faster. Especially when talking about a terrifying demonic cultivator that had managed to reach the Demon King Realm.

Whoosh~!

Because of this, the demonic cultivator soon began laying down an extremely complicated formation below the ruins of the destroyed capital city of the Sky Empire. Not bothering with the few people still left living among the ruins of the destroyed city.

Not much different from him, the other two demonic cultivators at the Demon Lord Realm had similarly begun to lay down their formations.

The main difference between them and the one currently in the ruined capital of the Sky Empire being the case that they had to spend most of their time hiding from the cultivators residing in the cities they were placing the formations below. Understanding that the moment they were noticed, it would be a death sentence for them.

After all, they had also managed to learn about the Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor from the Blue Sea Empire that had decided to stay on the border between the Onyx Empire and the Frozen Wasteland to kill any demonic cultivator trying to pass through the border.

The moment any of them were noticed, this Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor would undoubtedly be rushing over to kill them. Especially considering that this ancestor’s original goal for coming to the Frozen Wasteland was to kill them.

…

”Looks like everything is going according to plan, that old fellow really did stay behind to guard the border. Hehe, quite an emotional fellow. Now those three just have to set up those formations and I can proceed with the final step. Only, those three can’t be discovered no matter what, or those old fellows will definitely sense something suspicious…”

At the same time that the three demonic cultivators began to busy themselves with setting up the formations that had been assigned to them, the Blood Lotus Demon King who had just finished his battle with the three ancestors from the Blue Sea Empire could not help chuckling to himself, as he looked off in the direction of the Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor from the Blue Sea Empire that had remained behind before turning to leave the place. Not wanting to arouse any suspicion from the Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor.
