Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Remaining frozen in the face of the ancient golem that had suddenly appeared in front of them, it wasn’t long before Mui and the demon beasts realized that the ancient golem wasn’t moving and instead seemed to have long since ceased moving, as a few plants could even be seen growing around its feet upon closer inspection.

Rumble~

However, just as Mui and the rest of the demon beasts were about to start relaxing again upon discovering that the ancient golem wasn’t moving, they were once again taken aback, as the ancient golem suddenly started moving. Turning its giant head to face them.

Roar…!

Not able to take this sudden fear followed by relief that only lasted a short instant before once again being replaced by fear, one of the demon beasts decided to turn around and escape. Not planning to become the first to get killed off by the ancient golem-

Whoosh-!

PTSH!

Unfortunately, things didn’t work like the escaping demon beast had expected, as the ancient golem ignored the rest of the demon beasts and Mui. Instead, shotting out some kind of strange looking metal arrow that directly pierced through the escaping demon beast. Killing it in an instant, as there seemed to be some kind of terrifying poison inside the metal arrow that directly killed the demon beast the moment it was hit.

Thump~

Hearing the sound of the escaping demon beast’s body landing on the ground dead, Mui and the demon beasts decided wisely against repeating what the now dead demon beast had done, as they all remained frozen on the spot in front of the ancient golem.

Although none of them knew why, it was clear that the ancient golem didn’t seem to target them unless they tried to escape from it, but… If they wanted to continue searching for a teleportation formation out of the ancient city, they would have to find a way past the ancient golem that was now motionlessly looking down at them without moving after having killed off the scaping demon beast.

Do I have to use one of master’s talismans…?

Thinking this to herself as she looked up at the ancient golem before looking around at the surrounding demon beasts that remained completely frozen in fear following the death of the escaping demon beast, Mui silently pulled out one of her master’s talismans.

Still, not knowing if the ancient golem would leave after watching them for a few minutes, Mui decided to silently wait for a bit before using the talisman used by her master. After all, she didn’t want to end up wasting it. Especially considering that using a talisman would undoubtedly draw the attention of any nearby golems to her current location…

Unfortunately, even after half an hour of staring directly at the ancient golem that motionlessly stared down at them, Mui and the demon beasts weren’t any closer to getting out of their current situation.

Instead, their situation had grown worse, as they became distinctly aware of the fact that other golems also roamed around the palace complex, as a thin fog had already covered them. Signaling that one of these roaming golems was nearby.

Of course, different from the golem in front of them that only seemed to attack if they tried running away, Mui and the demon beasts all understood that the roaming golems moving around the palace complex would attack them the moment they were spotted.

For this reason, a few of the demon beasts had already started fearfully shaking as the fog around them slowly grew denser with each passing second.

Not just that, but a few of the demon beasts even seemed to be prepared to try and make a run for it and hope for the best.

All things considered; it seemed like none of the demon beasts had any way for them to get out of the current situation safely. Meaning that the only option left for her would be to use one of her master’s talismans against the ancient golem.

Whoosh~!

With that in mind, Mui didn’t hesitate any longer as she poured her qi into the talismans before throwing it out in the direction of the motionless golem, causing the talisman to shine brightly. Followed by a terrifying presence belonging to that of someone in the Late Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm manifesting around it. Drawing the attention of both the demon beasts and the ancient golem.

Rumble-!

Not even a second after the terrifying presence manifested itself, a terrifying sword manifested itself at the location that the talisman had been, before slashing down in the direction of motionless ancient golem with a terrifying might far beyond anything the demon beasts or Mui for that matter, had ever seen before-

BOOOOOM-!

And the next second, the terrifying sword slash reached its target. Instantaneously destroying the ancient golem upon contact before the remnants of the attack continued into the distance. Soon creating a scar that cut straight through the entire palace complex as far as they could see. Having destroyed anything in its path.

Of course, unknown to Mui or the demon beasts, the only reason this had been possible was due to the fact that the palaces in the way had decayed to a point where even a simple Nascent Soul Realm cultivator would be capable of easily destroying them, let alone an attack carrying the full might of a Late Stage Dao Domain Lord Realm cultivator no less powerful than someone in the Middle Stage of the Dao Seed Realm!

”This… We have to get out of here!” Recovering only a few seconds after the aftershocks from the attack had dissipated, Mui didn’t waste any time as she quickly began escaping from the scene. Knowing that staying any longer could result in her getting caught by any ancient golems coming over to investigate the situation.

Rooar!

Roar…!

Roar~!

Seeing how Mui was leaving, the remaining demon beasts similarly understood the situation as they followed after her. Turning her into the de facto leader of the group of demon beasts.

The reason for this was not just because the fluffy wolf demon beast had caused them to run into a rather dangerous situation that had cost the life of one of the demon beasts, but also because of the might that Mui had just displayed.

Although these demon beasts had no understanding of talismans, they still understood that the terrifying attack just now had been Mui’s doing… And that was all they needed to understand to make her the new leader of the group.

None of them cared about the fact that she was not a demon beast after the terrifying strength she had just displayed.

On the other hand, it almost seemed like Mui had managed to successfully tame this group of demon beasts after using her master’s strength just now. Unintentionally accomplishing her goal of taming the fluffy wolf demon beast without realizing that she had done so, as she was far more focused on getting away from the site of the attack and avoiding any ancient golems coming to investigate the situation.

Rumble~!

At least, from the sound of moving golems in the distance and the fog around them growing thinner, it seemed like she had managed to succeed in this goal. Giving her confidence to start looking for teleportation formations once again.

Of course, now that she had managed to become the leader of the demon beasts, it became far easier to do this, as the demon beasts had essentially begun to follow her every command when it came to looking for signs of any teleportation formation.

In the end, like this, a week soon passed inside the palace complex as Mui searched through the entire place with the help of the demon beasts for any sign of teleportation formations.

During this week, not only had Mui managed to fully secure the fluffy wolf demon beast as pet, but she had also managed to tame the rest of the demon beasts successfully. Giving her a total of 10 demon beasts that were all covered in soft and fluffy fur.

At the same time, using her newfound prowess as a beast tamer, Mui managed to establish a general perimeter to keep an eye out for any approaching golems or spotting any motionless golems ahead of time. Allowing her and the demon beasts to safely move through the palace complex while searching for a teleportation formation.

Because of all this, Mui and the demon beasts finally managed to find a teleportation formation eight days after they entered the palace complex.

The only problem being that the teleportation formation didn’t work.

Luckily, the problem was quickly figured out to just be a lack of qi after one of the demon beasts accidentally pushed a spirit stone onto the formation and caused it to start working for a short time before running out of qi.

Unfortunately, the qi required to keep the teleportation formation up and running long enough to send them out of the ancient city was not something the spirit stones currently in Mui’s interspatial ring could cover. Meaning that they would have to search through the surrounding decaying palaces for more spirit stones so they could activate the teleportation formation.

Something that wasn’t too difficult to accomplish and would only take them a bit of time. Not something Mui or the demon beasts minded considering that there was finally a path out of the ancient city in sight.

All they had to do was hope that no ancient golem ended up deciding to go through the ancient teleportation formation and end up destroying it in the process before they could escape.
