Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2674: Chapter 2669: Lying Stranger

Is this considered desecration? Why do I have a faint feeling that someone’s being insulted?

There were indeed some wonderful imaginations before, and the warehouse finally showed some cleverness by learning to sneak in. This Second Phase task might not be that hard to accomplish after all.

But isn’t that a bit too effortless?

Professor Fu merely lowered his stance, continued to deceive men and dominate women for a bit, and the original marker was immediately desecrated?

No wonder why in films you often hear classic lines like ”take your filthy hands off”. Is the warehouse suggesting that the professor’s hands are this dirty?

Even if it’s true, Fu Qian wouldn’t care about such mixed reviews, not to mention he often critiques the warehouse—seems it’s indeed true.

Before Fu Qian could finish being magnanimous, he seemed to witness just how dirty his hands had become.

Crack!

Upon seeing the half of the chin lightly touched by his fingers, that seemingly eternal face suddenly encountered a change.

Blinding cracks tore the graceful curve, extending like a spider web, pure white fragments scattered like rain.

The last scene in Fu Qian’s eyes was the entire Sanctuary collapsing with a roar.

...

So for the Sea of Souls, is the identity of outsiders really that filthy?

The progress was too fast, and at the moment the picture shifted, even Professor Fu couldn’t help but marvel.

Dismissing it lightly, why did merely touching a chin complete the task? Naturally, he was the first to think of the reason.

This process wasn’t even difficult; the first thing that came to mind was his residency issue.

The warehouse first restricted Extraordinary Ability, and even after passing the test, it didn’t provide any alternative, so it didn’t seem to want a violent breach.

After much thought, besides remarkable academic achievements, one obvious trait remained: he couldn’t blend into the local circle no matter what.

Entering this local-only venue with such an identity, calling it a form of desecration isn’t problematic.

Of course, there’s also the recently discovered Crystal Essence.

Even though he ultimately rejected the Crystal Apocalypse, the notion of crystal being the end point of the Mechanical is undoubtedly worth delving into.

Then aside from these special characteristics, perhaps Lord Stomach, or Father’s Amnion, also had issues.

It was astonishing earlier, how someone as a Superior Being managed to break through limitations and enter here.

If that process was also done with great difficulty, similar to his own endeavor?

Could it be that the existence state of the White Head Holy Church was already quite fragile?

Under such circumstances, being touched by a dirty hand and immediately collapsing seems more logical.

Of course, these are just speculations, the concrete summary depends on the warehouse.

Overall, as a task numbered 1, though there’s a bit of difficulty, it mainly embodies a notion of extravagance, fully reflecting the balance of work and play.

Gazing at the familiar warehouse, Fu Qian relaxed into his seat, not forgetting to look for the bright spots.

...

[Task Evaluation: Lying Stranger]

[It is said that as intelligent beings, the depths of the psyche are interconnected in an abstract way.

Some compare it to an ocean, while others see it as a cradle.

Because here, there’s no need for lies, not even for language.

But what very few people know is that what is least needed here is Divinity.

Mortal pleasures cannot withstand the scrutiny of an Immortal.

Thus, even a hidden marker inevitably causes ulcerous wounds.

Fibers and granulation build walls, isolating this abscess to the utmost.

The marker’s owner doesn’t mind this, even taking it as a new makeup.

No matter the trauma suffered, it can be used as a starting point for rebirth.

Yet this secret intended to grant absolute safety was desecrated at the most perilous moment, leaving no retreat.

The great Father’s Amnion ran dry on this day, and your habit of treading in Hell undoubtedly wielded a backstabbing Poison’s blade]

[Do you want to play the event review?]

...

Was it really sneaking in? It even sounds like kicking someone when they’re down?

As with the synopsis, the task summary provided by the warehouse is indeed a bit inscrutable.

This is where the benefit of pre-studying comes into play; Fu Qian could easily draw conclusions by predicting various phenomena in advance.

Firstly, regarding the issue long-discussed, it seems this place really is the Sea of Souls.

The warehouse even gave a relatively specific definition, that it’s a gathering of the mind’s depths of intelligent life.

In this way, the task evaluation suddenly seems reasonable.

Indeed, it’s about stealthily blending myself in under the guise of lies.

The statement in the mission introduction ”others are Hell, but humans also need Hell” now sounds a bit apropos.

Prejudiced women provided significant resistance.

But in the process of surpassing this point, they were effective helpers in my disguise.

In general, the nature of this task is relatively close to what’s imagined.

Additionally, there are several extra gains.

For instance, Father’s Amnion is indeed the esteemed title of Lord Stomach, and this task is indeed targeting Him.

It’s far more than just removing a contingency measure.

The White Head Holy Church I eventually entered serves as an anchor He left in the Sea of Souls, used for safety if necessary.

One must admit, it’s indeed a brilliant idea.

The only other being who could threaten such a Superior Being is another Superior Being.

And as a place inherently repelling Superior Beings, it’s difficult for opponents to detect or enter, offering higher security than other places.

Furthermore, why Father’s Amnion displayed that form seems related too.

The overlapping membrane isn’t His essence but a manifestation of the Sea of Souls’ rejection, trying to isolate Him?

It’s an unintended path indeed.

Also importantly, it seems the timing chosen by the warehouse wasn’t random, and Father’s Amnion must be experiencing misfortune.

Yes, ”the most perilous moment,” this phrasing sounds quite pessimistic.

The warehouse probably waited a long time for this day, choosing precisely when Father’s Amnion encountered misfortune, intending to use this secret contingency, directly called me over to reveal His Life Protection Box.

This also seems understandable why until I reached out to complete the desecration, I didn’t encounter any Divine Punishment, perhaps Father’s Amnion was busy.

The warehouse still has a touch of human touch, with some attention to labor safety.

Although Fu Qian wasn’t particularly moved by this.

Because at the same time, he also realized a problem, whether this safe gap might have involved his contribution too?
