Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2673: Chapter 2668: 8 Wicked Women (End)

It seems clear now why driving is a necessary part of entering this place.

Even as it fades into the distance, the ”Turn back!” warnings continue to echo around.

Unfortunately for Fu Qian, who is clearly obsessed, these warnings have no effect, and the only things slowing his speed are injuries and road conditions.

No matter how jovial the conversation, the fact that he’s on the brink of collapsing is never an exaggeration.

Thus, every second is fierce and cannot be easily squandered.

However, as the car approaches the Sanctuary, the speed inevitably slows down.

The reason, shockingly, lies in those growths seeping onto the road ahead.

As the car wheels roll further, the thickness is visibly increasing.

So much so, the initial visual shock turns into real resistance to progress.

In Fu Qian’s view, without a vehicle, even in perfect condition, he might not have the strength to walk this path to the end.

Despite all, the current experience is rather unpleasant.

There seems to be some sort of hierarchical distribution here, with the closer one gets to the Sanctuary, the deeper the effect.

Accompanying the increased thickness is a peculiar sweet fragrance.

Even inside the car, Fu Qian has to exert significant effort to resist the urge to further tear the wound on his heart.

Additionally, the outside scene is changing, such as the ”coral reefs” that are not only taller but increasingly lustrous, giving them a delicate texture.

It feels like just piercing a small hole would cause pus to gush out.

Of course, the key is to look at the bright side.

The road conditions might slow him down, but at least there’s less risk of a flat tire—and look, he’s arrived.

At a certain moment, Fu Qian noted a change in the blurry landscape.

Amidst the vivid colors, a familiar building rose up, the White Head Holy Church he’s worshipped at more than once.

But this time, the flawless white exterior was covered in layers of ”corals.”

The stark visual contrast evokes a profound sense of holy degradation and endless blasphemy, dropping bombs in the midst of already irresistible bliss.

...

So, could that mental space be a secularized reflection of this place?

It was indeed striking, at that moment Fu Qian sensed his will blooming into vibrant flowers, yet neither the car nor his thoughts paused.

By now, it’s almost certain that it’s his destination.

Regarding the nature of that mental space, relatively reliable conclusions can be drawn.

It seems that place and those special guests were essentially means of assistance provided by the warehouse.

Unable to send him directly here, it resorted to such a roundabout method.

Creating a scene, transforming everything into familiar elements, then allowing Professor Fu to perform self-refutation within.

Only by unraveling the paradox and surpassing himself could he reach the true destination.

The ladies are both an obstacle and indispensable help in this process.

I have to say, it really feels like curing one’s own mental illness.

Since even with places like Akons, the Burial Ground of Gods, and barriers deep in human minds, the warehouse could toss him directly, this place with likely barriers for ”outsiders” seems more probable to be the Sea of Souls.

Is Lord Stomach carving out territory within the Sea of Souls? Is this place overly powerful?

Because according to earlier research, even superior beings here seem naturally repelled by this place, squeak——

Finally, Fu Qian presses the brakes, halting before the familiar building.

...

Sure enough, the door was unlocked.

The closer he gets to the destination, the greater the self-control’s pressure.

However, the moment Fu Qian opens the door to get out of the car, he finds comfort once again.

Even sharing a door with the Dark Holy Hall, he sees a slit already opened.

It undoubtedly saves a lot of energy, although along the way, he’s found some tools for unlocking.

Squeak—

Fu Qian doesn’t hesitate, stepping up the stairs, pressing his broken body against the door to push it open bit by bit.

[Task updated: Desecrate the original marker of Father’s Amnion]

...

Oh?

Almost simultaneously, feedback indicating successful completion of the first phase task arrives.

With preceding judgments, this surprise no longer affects Fu Qian.

What intrigues him is the content of the next task.

Firstly, the name... isn’t this Lord Stomach’s sanctuary?

Father’s Amnion—could it be the honorable name of this old acquaintance?

It indeed has an eerie quality, yet upon careful consideration, seems fitting to his pattern.

Compared to various ”Kings” or ”Lords,” the term ”Amnion” is undoubtedly unique.

So much so, instant curiosity arises about whom does ”Father” refer to.

Then there’s the content of this new task.

Desecrate the marker—sounds like this task theme resembles theft?

Finally, it seems the warehouse indulged in trickery for once—a crafty affair?

His thoughts race, Fu Qian already surveyed the scene inside the sanctuary.

The draped long-table is classic White Head Holy Church décor, alongside the same purifying sense.

Where insignia should be, there’s neither emptiness like in the Dark Holy Hall nor a simple enlarged ”Finger Ball.”

This time, the statue bears an actual human figure.

At first glance, the figure’s hair almost matches her body length, bending over the giant finger ball.

The massive fingers forming the ball seem to grow directly from her.

So the previous sightings were abstract versions—this is the complete one?

Even conceptually, Lord Stomach might be feminine?

Confronting this, even Fu Qian murmurs in amazement.

While time is not an ally, he steadily moves toward the statue.

So... how to desecrate?

From this vantage, the visual impact is formidable.

Even the half-turned face above, with eyes closed, radiates purity and holiness.

A stark contrast to Lord Stomach’s familiar style, leaving no room for any sense of desecration.

But everyone knows, Professor Fu sometimes inadvertently acts outside human norms.

A quick estimation of height, he reaches out, executing an action befitting this task’s image, pinching the statue’s chin lightly with two fingers.

[Current task complete, containment number 1-330 successfully captured]
