Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2554: Chapter 2549: Armory

Feathers grew from the body, which suggests that the probability of the person on the ground being the former receptionist is much higher.

Grasping the rules amidst temporal anomalies is not easy, but in the face of this bizarre change, Fu Qian ascended to a considerable height.

It seemed all to be related to His Excellency the Judgment Chief, although this time there was no sanity-draining attack encountered.

Yet elements belonging to the Superior Being, in more subtle and penetrating ways, were corroding this research institution—seemingly a favorable development.

At least His Excellency the Judgment Chief did not sever cause and effect and disappear after clocking in only once.

Roar——

Moreover, it didn’t take much time; the hunt had already reached its conclusion.

Another painful howl rang out, seemingly mixed with a hint of relief.

The already deformed skull of the one being hunted was directly pierced through a weak spot, tearing out more gray feathers.

And the murderous weapon used was merely an iron rod picked up from the side.

Given the generally average physical strength, achieving this didn’t require much force.

But in that disoriented and pitch-black struggle, to still be able to search for such a tool and identify opportunities speaks to the candidate’s exceptional performance.

”Very well, thank you for giving him relief.”

Watching the blood and feathers quickly form a clump, Fu Qian was generous with his praise in that moment, giving high marks and continuing to call out.

”Follow me, it’s just ahead.”

...

Not unscathed, the predator’s movements became more difficult from the battle.

In this regard, Fu Qian demonstrated great patience, still moving a section and then waiting in place.

The other party did not disappoint, moving sluggishly yet with a posture that seemed even more resolute.

”Pick one.”

And without encountering further obstacles, Fu Qian found the door with rivets easily by following the direction from his memory.

Compared to other places, this spot was relatively intact, even remaining shut.

The small inconvenience this caused could be completely disregarded by Fu Qian.

There was no need to find additional tools; his fingertips could easily transform.

”These are special-made weapons, each one could serve its purpose.”

In the fluid door-opening motion, Fu Qian signaled to the candidate, continuing to replicate the words once spoken by the receptionist.

For him, it was easy to see that although the inventory was slightly damaged, many of the weapons were in decent condition, still able to help in slaying.

”Okay...”

Initially not realizing he had passed the test, the candidate was momentarily stunned before shuffling forward.

Almost immediately afterward, he fell back into the throes of indecisiveness.

Faced with one open box after another, confusion even crossed his eyes, repeatedly observing in distress.

”Though you are alone, the rule remains unchanged; you can only pick one.”

Even noticing this, Fu Qian coldly repeated the previous rule.

Meanwhile, he casually walked to a corner, examining an empty box.

It seemed that the short gun chosen earlier, having been vaporized in the Engraving Wisdom section, did not find rebirth here.

No wonder continuous anomalies could inherit damage; even equipment replenishment wasn’t easy.

”I... I don’t know what to choose.”

The candidate clearly noticed his actions but, unfortunately, could not glean any guidance and ultimately confessed his inner confusion.

”Then it’s fine to come back for an exchange later.”

Fu Qian was more accommodating on this point, suggesting the option of a seven-day unconditional return.

...

Considering while hesitating, the candidate finally seemed a bit more at ease, lowering his head to continue wandering between the shelves, even running his hand over each item.

With sawtooth wide blades, spiked long handles, to be honest, each of these deadly weapons surprisingly matched his current aura.

Casually grabbing anything, lifting it would evoke the feeling of a slaughtering deity.

Some discretion was maintained though, only touching without testing.

And no excessive time was wasted; on the second lap, he gripped a wave-shaped short handle.

Indeed, as the receptionist mentioned, a weapon fit for relentless slaughter was still a popular choice.

Fu Qian remained very interested in his choice, seeing clearly that the other end of the curved handle was, indeed, a similarly curved broad blade.

The blade shone bright, one side lined with ferocious sawteeth.

The overall size was somewhat extravagant, but meticulous thickness control made it seem not too heavy.

Considering situations similar to earlier, such a deadly weapon was undoubtedly suitable for dismembering targets thoroughly.

”I’ve decided.”

Just as stated before, the moment the candidate grasped the item, his whole demeanor transformed into that of a slaughter machine.

”I see you’ve decided, wish you happy hunting ahead.”

Brushing a hand over the sawtooth, Fu Qian was very pleased with the progress, offering a smile and good wishes.

”But, I don’t know what the target is...”

Having officially become a Hunter, the other party found words more smoothly, though some confusion still lingered.

”Rest assured, I will provide guidance.”

Fu Qian remained affable, recalling scenes previously encountered, without setting specific boundaries.

It was obvious the matter had progressed beyond concerns of shadows; few living beings in this place likely remained in normal condition.

”Thank you very much, but I may not find the way back...”

A somewhat reassured Hunter first expressed gratitude, then, as if recalling something, hesitated with a new concern.

The concern was reasonable—given his lack of direction sense, it was likely he’d never return.

”This too is not an issue.”

Fortunately, it remained no problem for Fu Qian.

More precisely, it posed no problem for the head of the Limb Club.

Snap——

In the darkness, a light click was heard, and an axe that seemed much heavier had already been lifted.

However, it wasn’t held by a hand but by a long tentacle, extending from Fu Qian’s body.

Then came long knives, broad swords...

With a series of clangs, the already limited inventory was swiftly seized, weapon by weapon, each borne by numerous tentacles.

”Let’s move.”

Transforming effortlessly into a mobile arsenal, Fu Qian called out once more.

Though very optimistic about this rapid Hunter, he wasn’t planning to sit around waiting for results.

As for the promise of a weapon exchange? At the Rebirth Club, we never worry about having enough hands.

Recalling Old Master Lu and Mr. Kikuchi, who formed a successful group on the Archipelago, and the gigantic entity they ultimately formed, Fu Qian sneered, adjusting his tentacles even more orderly, radiating around his body.

Although inspired by that, the presentation had to be far superior.

”From now on, let’s call you Ah Fei.”
