Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 395: Mysterious Delivery

Returning home from school, it was already eleven thirty again.

This was definitely going to be a time when Lin Zhao would nag him for half the day, but after this period of frequent outings, Lin Zhao had gradually gotten used to Lin Yuʼs late returns.

Of course, Lin Yu felt this was mainly because the money he gave was effective.

”Itʼs also time to make some more money. Now that the identity and reputation of ʼMay Mayʼ are established, plus the background of ʼOrderʼ, taking on some private work on the side wouldnʼt be bad.”

”Or I could use the identity of ʼOld Yaoʼ to find some work for myself... Hmm, come to think of it, I should also brush up on the presence of this Old Yao identity more often.”

”For now, ʼOrderʼ and the ʼMaraudersʼ probably both think that I, as ʼMay Mayʼ, have a small organization. Having Old Yao show his face more often also has benefits... Maybe I should even consider developing a few new identities.”

”After completing the ʼSecond Tierʼ dungeon, Iʼll try to take on more jobs, keep more points and money on hand. At least next time I encounter an event like an ʼauctionʼ, I wonʼt even lack the desire to go... You can never have too many ʼitemsʼ.”

Lin Yu sighed.

He was still too poor!

Although he seemed to get a bunch of items from each dungeon, there really werenʼt many that were truly useful.
In previous dungeons, if he didnʼt use the ʼCounterfeitʼ, the only handy weapon was the ʼFear Torchʼ...

What decent person goes around hitting people with a torch every day?

Fortunately, after joining ʼOrderʼ, he at least got an ʼItem Integration Setʼ, which contained a ʼSeeking Enemy Daggerʼ, giving him at least one sharp weapon to use.

But for ranged attack methods, he still only had the ʼOne-Shot Pistolʼ—this thing even has only one bullet!

”Thinking about it this way, there really are a lot of things to keep busy with...”

”And, I totally forgot to ask my senior what use the ʼitemʼ eaten by that phone would have...”

While pondering this, Lin Yu opened the door to his home.

Pushing open the door, as usual, he saw Lin Zhao sitting on the sofa.

Compared to before, Lin Zhao had indeed gotten much more accustomed to it.

”Youʼre back? What took you so late!”

”I went on a business trip to Haicheng, just got back not long ago, then went to the school library to study for a bit,” Lin Yu changed into his slippers, walked over to Lin Zhao, and took a box of pastries out of his backpack. ”Even though the filming work is busy, I donʼt want to neglect my studies either.”

The pastry packaging was very exquisite, bought by Lin Yu from the Haicheng train station.

Lin Zhao took the pastries and snorted lightly. ”Busy, busy, busy, so busy youʼre never home...”

”And you spend so extravagantly.”

Although Lin Zhao said this, Lin Yu could tell she was quite happy.

After all, his older sister had always liked pastries and sweets, but these things were just too luxurious for them in the past.

Lin Zhao carefully opened the box, took out a beautiful white pastry, and narrowed her eyes.

”What is this?”

”They said itʼs Seven Treasures Square Cake, quite famous.”

Lin Zhao broke off a piece and stuffed it in her mouth, smiling as she spoke. ”Itʼs quite tasty. So how much did it cost?”

”Not much, just over sixty.”

Lin Yu slashed seventy percent off the price;actually, this box of high-end pastries cost over two hundred.

But he was quite sure that if he told Lin Zhao the real price, she would absolutely beat him into Seven Treasures Square Cake.

Just over sixty was almost the highest price—it made Lin Zhao feel it was a bit luxurious and expensive, but it was right on the borderline where she could accept and even enjoy it because ”itʼs already bought.”

Sure enough, Lin Zhao pouted. ”Now Little Yu is also making big money... Pastries costing over sixty, you just buy them without a second thought.”

”Oh right, you have a package. I put it on the desk in your room.”

Hearing Lin Zhaoʼs words, Lin Yu was somewhat surprised.

”A package?”

He even felt a bit nervous.

Who could be sending him a package...?

His identity had just been unified with the ʼMay Mayʼ identity, and a package shows up?

Although ʼOrderʼ had promised to ensure the personal safety of membersʼ families, and he was valued by Li Hua, even having the connection with his senior, he would definitely receive more attention...

But Lin Yu was afraid it wouldnʼt be that fast!

So after hearing Lin Zhao say this, Lin Yu nodded calmly.

”I see, Iʼll go open it and see what it is.”

Lin Yu quickly returned to his room.

Then, he closed the door and let Stiller out—although he had let Stiller move freely in Haicheng before, he definitely had to put him back in the Poké Ball when taking the train.

After all, Stiller was a living person, not like the little octopus and brain flower that could just curl up in a bag.

Stiller, appearing again, stretched.

”Boss, weʼre home?”

”Whatʼs the matter now?”

Lin Yu pointed to the package on the table, a box about the size of five pounds of brine.

”Thereʼs a package at home, donʼt know who sent it... You worked in the Truth Corporation security department, do you know how to handle this?”

Stiller glanced at it and spoke confidently. ”This is indeed within my professional scope. You should know, the number of dangerous packages President Paris receives in a week is absolutely comparable to the love letters a popular campus goddess gets... Bombs, poison gas, germs, and just simple threatening letters and excrement, Iʼve seen them all.”

”Donʼt worry, Iʼll check it for you first.”

Stiller approached the table, took out a pair of thick gloves from his chest, and put on his tactical helmet.

”Thermal imaging normal, no residual attached malice...”

He shone a flashlight on it a couple more times, then listened with something that looked like a stethoscope.

”No mechanical operation or physical sounds, but it contains high-energy, though the energy structure is stable... Oh, wait, never mind.”

Stiller suddenly took off his helmet and gloves and boldly picked up the package on the table.

Lin Yu was surprised. ”Whatʼs wrong? Why are you suddenly so sure itʼs safe?”

”Because the check is pretty much done, and I just noticed the sender written on it is Li Hua, and the address is the hotel we stayed at before,” Stiller shook the box. ”If I remember correctly, Li Hua is someone you trust, right, Director?”

Lin Yu was stunned for a moment, then breathed a sigh of relief.

”That is indeed true...”

He stepped forward, took the box, opened it, and inside saw a beautiful, crystal-clear, silver-glittering necklace.

There was a note attached inside.

”Took the liberty of giving this as your reward. A follow-up reward of 1000 points will be directly transferred to your forum account.”

”If unsatisfied, you can send me a message.”

Looking at Li Huaʼs beautiful running script fountain pen writing, Lin Yu picked up the necklace.

”So this is my reward... It arrived pretty quickly.”
