Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 691: Chapter 690: Alan Morgan’s Memory

At the mention of Shirley Grant, Gerry’s eyes instantly welled up with tears.

Upon hearing him bring up his mother, Alan Morgan immediately handed Gerry a few tissues to wipe away his tears.

”Don’t cry, Gerry. How can a brave young man like you cry?” Alan comforted him, feeling somewhat resentful towards Gerry’s mother.

”Since she has left, let her be. Why are you still thinking about her?”

「...」

The time flashed back to the day when he regained consciousness. As he opened his eyes, many memories flooded in.

He had gone into the mountains, not knowing what he was searching for, only to encounter a group of professional killers.

He fought them for a long time, in the relentless rain.

Eventually, he killed the last assassin but collapsed in a pool of blood.

His mind was hazy, almost blank.

At that moment, all he could think about was Gerry, a little boy whose face he couldn’t see.

And the woman... standing beside Gerry.

He couldn’t remember her face. When he finally woke up, Gerry was there in front of him.

But he had no recollection of that woman...

”Gerry?”

His dry lips moved, the first words he uttered upon waking.

”Daddy? Daddy, you’re awake?”

Gerry’s large, sparkling eyes were so lively they could melt anyone’s heart—he was simply irresistible.

Alan’s lips curled into a small smile as he blinked.

”Daddy is finally awake! I want to go tell Mommy!”

Gerry’s first reaction was to find Shirley Grant. But as he turned his head, all he saw through the massive glass window was a long, deserted corridor.

Gerry stood there in a daze, his face etched with incomprehension.

He blinked, then turned his bewildered gaze from his grandmother to his father.

”Where is Mommy?”

His clear, young voice, now tinged with a heartbreaking hoarseness, suggested he already suspected something, yet his innocent heart refused to believe it.

”Your mother left. She said she was returning you to the Morgan family.”

That was his grandmother’s voice!

Gerry couldn’t believe it—the shock was too much, and with a THUD, he fainted.

”Gerry!”

”Gerry!”

The room descended into chaos.

Gerry was rushed into the Emergency Room once more. The doctor emerged shortly after.

”Congenital heart disease. It’s been left untreated for too long. If we don’t operate soon, we’ll miss the optimal window...”

Instantly, a flood of memories returned. Alan immediately informed his mother that he had already found the world’s leading heart expert.

By the time Gerry was moved out of the Emergency Room, Alan had already been transferred to a regular ward.

During that time, he had also learned many things.

Gerry’s mother, a vain and materialistic woman, had seduced him. After they slept together, she took a large sum of money and left.

Later, she secretly gave birth to their child and was now using the child to extort more money.

The Morgan family had no choice but to give her another sum. Then, she left, cold and resolute.

Alan’s mother said that when Gerry’s mother left, she didn’t even glance at Gerry.

At this thought, Alan clenched his fists.

His eyes, now clear and sharp, looked down at Gerry, whose own eyes were red from crying.

”Don’t be sad anymore. You have your father.”

He didn’t know how to be a father to his son, but he knew he could learn.

Gerry sat there, lips trembling, scarcely believing all that had transpired.

”Mommy wouldn’t abandon Gerry. She wouldn’t! Mommy was driven out by her own family for Gerry. She kept getting thinner, ate less and less, and cried more and more. Mommy did so much for Gerry, how could she abandon Gerry?”

Gerry refused to believe or accept this reality.

But his mother never appeared again.
