Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 670: Chapter 669: Of Course I Like You

Tara Jameson took a deep breath. She had known it for a long time; only when he received a call from Nia Mitchell would that particular smile appear on his face.

”You like her.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement, her tone exactly the same as Fiona Sutton’s back then, startling Charles Northwood.

In a daze, it was as if he saw Fiona Sutton standing there, just as composed. She had said, ”You like Nia Mitchell, don’t you?”

At the time, he had insisted it was just her imagination.

”She and I are just friends,” Charles Northwood said, a smile still on his face.

Her expression unchanging, Tara Jameson turned her head to look at Charles Northwood. She found him a little hard to understand. ”Sometimes, I think you like her, but other times, you’re too detached.” She couldn’t understand it, couldn’t quite place what this feeling was.

”Perhaps it’s more than friends, but not quite lovers.” That was Tara Jameson’s definition. She could now discuss these matters calmly with Charles Northwood.

”You shouldn’t pry into my affairs. I’m your teacher.”

Tara Jameson gave a small laugh, finding his words hard to accept. ”I’m so unwilling to accept it, yet there’s nothing I can do.”

Charles Northwood, I really do like you... It was you... it was you who led me on.

”Charles Northwood, let me ask you this: when you confessed to me back then, did you genuinely like me?” Her voice was very low, as if afraid of being overheard, afraid of affecting Charles Northwood.

This was a fact that perhaps no one at University A would dare to believe. No one even knew they had dated, let alone that Charles Northwood had been the one to initiate the relationship.

”Of course.” Charles Northwood admitted it frankly, with complete composure. If he hadn’t liked her, why would he have confessed? By pursuing a relationship that crossed the teacher-student boundary, it was as if he had set himself against the entire world.

”But I couldn’t feel it,” Tara Jameson said.

”Then that’s your issue, Tara Jameson. I stand by my words; I’ve never deceived you. Our breakup was absolutely not because I’d fallen for someone else.” He could swear to anyone now, with a clear conscience, that he didn’t like Nia Mitchell, nor did he like Fiona Sutton. For these two women, he felt only friendship.

”Alright.” Tara Jameson murmured in agreement, turning away to wipe the tears that were about to spill from her eyes.

The class bell suddenly rang. Charles Northwood stood up and walked to the lectern.

Tara Jameson walked into the classroom and returned to her seat. It was as if nothing had happened at all. The two of them were, once again, strangers.

Nia Mitchell hesitated for a moment but still drove the flashy Maybach onto campus, parking it directly in front of the women’s dormitory. She reached for her phone and called Fiona Sutton.

”I’m downstairs.”

Fiona Sutton casually ran a hand through her hair, then grabbed her coat and the baby, and headed downstairs. ”Hey, Nia Mitchell, how come you have time to hang out with me today? You’re treating, you know,” she said with a laugh as she descended.

”No problem. Order whatever you like.”

”Hmph!” Fiona Sutton chuckled and quickened her pace down the stairs. When she reached the bottom and saw the car, she was utterly stunned.

Holy cow! If her eyes weren’t deceiving her, this was the car featured in that international magazine just last month! Top-of-the-line equipment, the most luxurious assembly... and look at the lines of the car body—perfect! This Maybach was one of a kind—the only one in the entire world.
