Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 447: Chapter 446: We are Preparing for Pregnancy

A central figure in the underground dealings of Capital Town, dealing daily with the crossfire of bullets and still managing to remain brave, actually uttered the word ”fear.” Since childhood, had he been so timid? Was he not afraid of biting his tongue when he said that?

Maxwell Peary’s eyes twitched. He looked at Owen Lewis as if the man had Neurosis.

”What? Are you unhappy that I’m getting married?”

Maxwell Peary looked at him dangerously, a chill in his words that made Owen Lewis tremble where he stood.

The cold was creeping up from his feet.

”No... No way. It’s just that I don’t know who this Nia Mitchell is, which family’s daughter she is?”

What the fuck, there was one question that had puzzled him for years. That was, if Maxwell Peary were to marry, what would the identity and appearance of that woman be?

Though he was scared to death, he was eager to visit the Office Room to see who this Nia Mitchell was.

Of course, the current Owen Lewis did not know what kind of expression he would have when he truly saw Nia Mitchell.

”She’s an ordinary person.”

Maxwell Peary didn’t mind this at all. He didn’t need to marry someone of equal social status; as long as he liked her, that was enough.

Those so-called wealthy ladies were unbearably common and boring.

”An ordinary person?”

Owen Lewis couldn’t understand what exactly ’ordinary’ meant.

”I’m going back to the Office Room first.”

Having said that, Owen Lewis was preparing to leave, but Maxwell Peary did not respond.

”Do you need me to get Annie Davidson out tonight?”

Given Annie Davidson’s temperament, if Owen Lewis were to seek her out by himself, he might not be able to see her for ten days or half a month.

If Maxwell Peary instructed her, even if Annie Davidson knew it was a trap, she would still appear.

As for Maxwell Peary’s suggestion, after thinking about it, Owen Lewis shook his head and refused.

”If you call her, she’ll definitely come, but if she sees me, she’ll get even angrier.”

She would definitely think he did it intentionally, and then all her anger would be directed solely at him.

In that case, the loss would outweigh the gain.

Maxwell Peary looked at Owen Lewis teasingly, nodding his head. If the man didn’t need his help, why should he meddle? However,

”If you can’t win her over even when seeing her face to face, you really are regressing,” Maxwell Peary said in jest, then walked towards the wine rack, took a wine glass, and poured another glass of wine for him.

As a friend, although he appeared unemotional and cold, he understood many things quite clearly.

Owen Lewis accepted the wine glass and looked at the clear color inside. It was then he realized that since he came in, Maxwell Peary had only been pouring wine for him.

He wasn’t drinking? In the past, they would always drink together. Why was he only pouring wine for Owen Lewis today?

”Aren’t you drinking?”

Owen Lewis looked at him in confusion.

Maxwell Peary cleared his throat and looked at the top-quality liquor on the wine rack.

Because Owen Lewis had spilled half of his glass of wine earlier, the entire Office Room was permeated with the aroma of wine.

”I’m not drinking for the time being.”

Having said that, he leaned against the wine rack.

”Quit drinking?”

Could he interpret the meaning behind Maxwell Peary’s words this way?

Who could make the famous Young Master Peary quit drinking?

Consider the incident with Anne Davidson in the past. He drank until he had gastric bleeding, and even then, he didn’t give up drinking when the Doctor asked him to.

He was rather curious as to who could have such a large influence over him, and he couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of admiration for whoever held such power.

”I didn’t quit drinking, it’s just that...”

Maxwell Peary paused, the corners of his mouth inadvertently curling into a smile.

”We’re trying to have a baby.”
