Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 419: Chapter 418: Preparing for Pregnancy!?

As Maxwell Peary listened to her soft words, his mind grew restless and his heart throbbed, feeling as if it had been delicately brushed by a feather.

”Uncle, are you listening?”

As Nia Mitchell continued speaking, she gradually lost the initial awkwardness she felt. The warmth on her face subsided, and her words flowed more naturally.

Maxwell Peary’s dark eyes grew deeper as he stared at his little wife standing before him, wishing he could meld her into his very bones and blood.

And so, he leaned down, seizing the lips he yearned for.

”UH!”

Nia Mitchell’s eyes widened. What is happening? This development isn’t quite as expected! Before I came in, I had thought of thousands of possible reactions from Maxwell Peary, but this wasn’t one of them.

Once the kiss ended, Maxwell Peary released Nia Mitchell.

”I’ll listen to you.”

The simple words, laden with a unique charm, made it impossible for one to extricate oneself from their pull.

Nia Mitchell’s mind went blank from the kiss, and it took her a moment to process what he meant. When are we to have children? Is that up to me? Or, whatever needs to be done before getting pregnant, is that all up to me? But... CEO Peary is like a god in my eyes, impossible to ignore. Just seeing him stand there makes me feel brave enough to do anything, even commit serious crimes. Because Maxwell Peary has that ability to be my backbone, making me fearless in whatever I do. Having a child is no small matter. I don’t know anything, so how can I be the one to decide?

”Uncle...” Nia Mitchell pouted. The more I think about it, the more it feels like Maxwell Peary was just trying to placate me.

”What’s wrong?”

Maxwell Peary reached out, lifted her into his arms, and then sat down on a nearby couch.

”Nothing.” Nia Mitchell wrapped her arms around his neck. He... he’s 29 this year.

”Uncle, do you prefer a boy or a girl?”

It seemed that whenever the topic of children came up, this question was inevitable.

Typically, when a wife asked this, the most appropriate response was:

”I don’t mind either way. As long as it’s our child, I’ll love them.”

If, at that moment, the wife then said, ”I prefer boys, especially if they’re as handsome as you.”

Then the perfect response would be something like Young Master Peary’s.

”A son is good too; we can protect you together. But I prefer a daughter. Then I can spoil both of you.”

Nia Mitchell’s face turned red, and she playfully punched Maxwell Peary’s chest.

”It’s getting late. Go get ready for work.”

Maxwell Peary gave Nia Mitchell’s bottom a light slap, set her down, and stood up.

The smoke in the study had dispersed. Nia Mitchell took Maxwell Peary’s hand, and they returned to the Main Bedroom together.

”Uncle, here.”

After Nia Mitchell finished tidying herself up, she looked at herself in the mirror and saw nothing out of place. She turned around just in time to see Maxwell Peary finishing up his tie knot. So, she looked down, picked up his cufflinks, and handed them to him.

Maxwell Peary paused, taking them from her.

”I thought you’d come and fasten them for me.”

A playful smile touched Maxwell Peary’s lips as he watched her with amusement.

Nia Mitchell smirked. ”I’m not going to do it for you. Do it yourself.”

After she spoke, she turned away, a delighted smile on her face, like a cat that had just stolen a fish, utterly ecstatic. Did I just scold the CEO? Oh my gosh!

”I originally agreed to have lunch at a Western Restaurant with you today, but I have important matters to attend to and may not be able to accompany you.”
