Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 438: Chapter 437: Courting Death in Various Ways

The saying, ”When you think someone can’t sink any lower, they find a way,” seemed to be coined for people like Sophia Moore.

Within the spacious CEO Office, Maxwell Peary was handling affairs with his head down, while Sophia Moore stood there, her face etched with resentment.

”I merely said a few words to her, and she actually started arguing and cursing at me.”

After recounting the cause and effect, Sophia Moore made her final summary.

”Oh?”

Maxwell Peary found this amusing. He raised his head and looked at Sophia Moore standing before him.

”She was fooling around, intentionally not doing any work?”

Maxwell Peary clearly found it hard to believe; Rabina didn’t seem like that kind of person.

”Yes! Just look at what happened earlier. If I hadn’t gone to check on her, her delay would have definitely caused the Company losses.”

Sophia Moore’s angry voice grew louder, and she momentarily forgot to maintain her ladylike demeanor in front of Maxwell Peary.

”Then don’t assign her such important work in the future.”

Maxwell Peary waved his hand dismissively, offering what seemed to be the most straightforward solution.

Perfect! He had been worried about Nia getting exhausted from working here. Now there was no need for concern; he could finally relax.

”Yes!”

Sophia Moore immediately responded with glee. Haha, Nia Mitchell, you’re finished!

However, three seconds later, Sophia Moore furrowed her brows.

”Huh?”

Had she misheard? Why wasn’t what she’d just heard the CEO announcing Nia Mitchell’s dismissal?

”Didn’t you understand?”

Maxwell Peary frowned, finding her dumbfounded expression unbearable; it was utterly repulsive. To think she’d get distracted while he was speaking to her, not even registering what he said.

”Uh, I...”

Sophia Moore wasn’t sure if she had misunderstood, or if perhaps Mr. Peary had misspoken. She stood there, wanting Maxwell Peary to repeat himself, but she didn’t have the courage to ask.

”Don’t assign her such important work in the future.”

Maxwell Peary repeated himself, then lowered his head and resumed his work, ignoring Sophia Moore.

This time, Sophia Moore heard him loud and clear, and the corners of her mouth twitched.

Mr. Peary, what do you mean by favoring her so blatantly?

”Why? Mr. Peary, shouldn’t an Employee like that be fired?”

Is this how a boss should treat a subordinate?

Maxwell Peary put down his pen, his brow furrowing slightly.

”Is this something you’re in a position to question?”

Sophia Moore choked, her hands clenching into fists. She stood there, somewhat frightened yet deeply unwilling to back down.

”It’s true that I shouldn’t question it, but, Mr. Peary, by favoring her like this, have you considered your secretary’s feelings?”

Such favoritism, such unfairness... Does a company like this even have a future? Well, alright, the future of the MC Group isn’t something to worry about. But still... his approach is simply wrong. The other secretaries will definitely feel it’s unfair.

”Do I need to consider others’ feelings?”

Maxwell Peary sneered, thinking Sophia Moore’s words were a complete joke.

Since when did he, Maxwell Peary, ever need to consider what others thought?

”If you’re unwilling to stay here, then get out.”

”Mr. Peary, that’s not what I meant!” Flustered, Sophia Moore immediately blurted out in her defense. ”I just feel that your handling of this, Mr. Peary, is somewhat unfair.”

Why should everyone else get paid the same, yet Nia Mitchell gets to slack off and do as she pleases while others have to work themselves to death?

Maxwell Peary’s lips curled into a cold sneer.

”You’re free to find a fairer boss.”
