Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 993: Chapter 992: I Won’t Tell You! (3 more)

Back in the room, Ye Haochuan finally pulled out his phone out of boredom. The Sub-Thunder Element Dimension Realm didn’t allow the use of mobile phones, so Ye Haochuan had stored his phone in a ring.

Now, as he retrieved it, he found countless missed calls and unread text messages. He was about to return them one by one when Su Yingxue suddenly called him.

Ye Haochuan picked up, and on the other end, Su Yingxue immediately exclaimed excitedly, ”Brother Ye, you finally answered!”

It turns out that after being promoted and packaged, Su Yingxue had recently released her first solo album, ”Infatuated.” With her sweet voice and impeccable looks, she exploded into fame, gaining the favor of major TV stations and recently advancing to the Imperial Capital.

Su Yingxue knew Ye Haochuan was also in the Imperial Capital, and she was eager to meet him. However, Ye Haochuan had been in the Sub-Thunder Element Dimension Realm the past few days, so his phone had naturally been unreachable. Now that Ye Haochuan had answered, Su Yingxue couldn’t help but feel so excited.

Ye Haochuan said, ”Yingxue, were you missing me?”

”Of course! I’ve been calling so many times, and you never answered. Is it because I don’t matter to you anymore?!” Though Su Yingxue seemed to be reproaching Ye Haochuan, her tone was far from displeased. She understood that he could be very busy at times.

”How could that ever be! Since you’ve entered my heart, don’t even think of ever leaving it!” Ye Haochuan teased her, knowing full well she wasn’t upset. After all, women loved hearing sweet words.

”That’s more like it,” Su Yingxue said with a grin. ”Brother Ye, are you free today?”

Picking up on her tone, Ye Haochuan inquired, ”Yingxue, are you in the Imperial Capital?”

”Yes, I arrived here a week ago!” Su Yingxue’s sweet voice came through.

Su Yingxue wanted to meet Ye Haochuan, and he naturally understood. Without hesitation, he asked, ”Where are you? I’ll come find you right away.”

”Great, I’m at Xin Yue Company. Come quickly, okay!” Xin Yue Company was Su Yingxue’s agency.

After hanging up, Ye Haochuan borrowed an Audi from Long Xiaotian. After all, Su Yingxue’s status had changed, and he couldn’t afford to look shabby when going out with her.

Ye Haochuan’s outfit today was noticeably more polished; with a little effort, he carried a refined air of high society.

Xin Yue Agency had a notable reputation in the entertainment industry, grooming countless rising stars in recent years. Being chosen by them demonstrated Su Yingxue’s substantial potential.

Upon arriving at the agency, Su Yingxue still had some work-related matters to handle, so she had Ye Haochuan wait in the lounge.

After a few minutes, a young woman pushed the door open, scanned Ye Haochuan, and asked, ”Are you Su Yingxue’s friend?”

The woman was Xie Qi, another signed artist under Xin Yue. Although she had been in the entertainment industry for years, she remained stuck in mediocrity.

Ye Haochuan offered a polite smile and replied, ”Yes, I’m Yingxue’s friend.”

Xie Qi raised an eyebrow. ”More like her boyfriend?”

”You really enjoy gossip, don’t you? It’s not good!” Ye Haochuan said with a chuckle. He understood that an artist’s romantic privacy was crucial, so he wouldn’t openly disclose their relationship without Su Yingxue’s consent. Protecting her career was his priority.

Thus, Ye Haochuan had no intention of explaining anything to someone he’d just met.

Xie Qi smirked and said, ”Don’t you know? Women are naturally inclined to gossip.”

Ye Haochuan thought for a moment and joked back, ”Well, I’m not telling you!”

Xie Qi felt a little annoyed but quickly laughed it off. ”Fine, don’t tell me. Still, your evasive responses make it pretty obvious what your relationship is.”

”Your guesses are your own business.”

”Well, handsome, you’re so protective of Su Yingxue and keeping her secrets. But have you ever thought about whether she’s done anything to betray your efforts?”

Xie Qi’s remark was sly and cryptic. At that moment, Su Yingxue walked in and, hearing this, snapped, ”Xie Qi, what do you mean by that?”

Scowling, Xie Qi shot Su Yingxue a disdainful look. ”What I mean should be clear to you.”

”Clear about what?” Su Yingxue understood that Xie Qi was jealous of her. After all, she had just joined the company, released her first album, and immediately hit the big time, while Xie Qi remained a second-tier actress despite years of effort.

”Ha...” Xie Qi sneered. ”You’re saying you don’t know? Let’s just say I’ve never seen the boss treat any newly signed artist with such special attention before.”

Su Yingxue countered, ”The company values me because they see my potential!”

”Really now?” Xie Qi replied. ”Every artist signed by the company is considered to have potential. Why does the company single-handedly focus resources on you? You’ve barely been here, and they’re already creating a debut album for you.”

Ye Haochuan watched Xie Qi closely. He knew the entertainment industry thrived on scheming and rivalries. He couldn’t tolerate anyone targeting Su Yingxue and, without hesitation, retorted, ”That’s because Yingxue has the talent to succeed. If certain people lack the ability, they could release ten albums and still flop!”

Xie Qi’s expression instantly soured. She knew Ye Haochuan’s barb was aimed squarely at her.

”Well said, handsome. But if people are climbing ranks via dirty underhanded means, no amount of arguing will silence the rumors,” Xie Qi shot back.

”Watch your mouth!” Ye Haochuan said sharply. Xie Qi’s insinuation about Su Yingxue using illicit methods to advance infuriated him.

”Handsome, you still don’t know much about the entertainment industry. Things like trading favors for opportunities aren’t that unusual.” Xie Qi glanced knowingly at Su Yingxue and added cryptically, ”Handsome, you’d better be careful. Don’t end up betrayed without even realizing it!”

”Xie Qi!” Su Yingxue’s face turned stormy as she pointed at Xie Qi and declared, ”I, Su Yingxue, have a clean conscience and upright actions. I’d never stoop to those things. If you keep slandering me, I’ll sue you for defamation!”

”Sue me? Ha...” Xie Qi chuckled coldly. ”Do you think doing so will change the truth of how certain newcomers use sordid tactics to climb the ladder? I’ve been in this industry long enough to see through your kind.”

”You unbearable woman...” Ye Haochuan sneered. ”Your filthy mouth spews nothing but trash talk. Did you eat garbage today and forget to rinse your mouth out?”

Xie Qi’s face grew livid. ”Filthy talk is still better than a filthy life. Some people don’t even care how many men they’ve slept with to get ahead!”

”You’ve gone too far!” Su Yingxue shouted furiously. Her voice rang out loudly, attracting the attention of numerous staff who started to peer in their direction.

Xie Qi smugly said, ”The truth always comes out, no matter how hard you try to hide it.”

Ye Haochuan knew Su Yingxue too well. He understood clearly that Xie Qi’s insults stemmed from jealousy and were baseless fabrications to smear Su Yingxue’s reputation.

Still, he also recognized the dangerous power of public rumors. Knowing Su Yingxue wasn’t adept at handling confrontations, Ye Haochuan realized that letting Xie Qi continue unchecked could lead to serious consequences for Su Yingxue.

”What a lovely ’truth comes out’!” Ye Haochuan declared loudly. ”I wonder if this lady had any passionate rendezvous with a man today?”

”What nonsense are you spouting?!” Xie Qi raged immediately.

”You consumed an aphrodisiac today, didn’t you? It seems like the effects are starting to kick in, aren’t they?”

”You... You’re spewing nonsense!”

”It’s curious how this kind of drug reacts faster when one’s emotions are agitated.”

As Ye Haochuan finished speaking, Xie Qi’s face began to flush red, her gaze turned hazy, and her body seemed to become uncontrollably restless.
