Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 983: Chapter 982: Sacrificing Oneself to Save the Master! (3 More)

The Purple Extreme Lightning Lion suddenly revealed that expression—this was the signal indicating it was about to give birth.

Ye Haochuan had originally assumed that after so many days, the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion should have already given birth successfully. Yet unexpectedly, fate was against them, and it had to give birth at this most critical moment.

”No way. If we continue fleeing, not only will the cub of the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion not survive, but the mother lion will die from the pain!” Ye Haochuan quickly calculated in his mind and, within moments, made a firm decision.

”Stop here. Find a place for the birth, and we’ll leave once it’s done!”

”Isn’t stopping now too dangerous?” Long Piaoying asked with a grave expression.

”If we don’t let it give birth, we won’t be able to escape, period!” Ye Haochuan said firmly. ”Don’t worry. I’ll make sure it delivers quickly and won’t waste too much time!”

As a Medical Practitioner, inducing labor wasn’t something that could stump him!

”Fine!” Long Piaoying ultimately relented.

The two humans and lion quickly found a relatively hidden cave and concealed themselves inside.

Letting the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion lie down on the ground, Ye Haochuan swiftly pulled out dozens of Silver Needles.

However, his expression suddenly shifted dramatically in the next moment. The lion’s acupoints differed from those of a human, making even a Divine Doctor like him hesitate to act rashly.

”No choice, I’ll go with instinct!”

This reliance on instinct wasn’t about randomly inserting needles; instead, he used Perspective to visualize the lion’s internal meridian pathways to deduce the corresponding acupoints for the needles.

Before long, more than a dozen Silver Needles were already inserted into the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion’s body.

Ye Haochuan wiped the sweat off his forehead. Intense concentration over an extended period left him feeling exhausted.

”How’s it going?” Long Piaoying asked anxiously from the side.

”It’s up to luck now!” For the first time in his life, Ye Haochuan felt uncertain about his medical skills.

”Roar~”

The painful howl of the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion conveyed its agony, making those who heard it feel as if they were sharing its suffering.

”You didn’t insert them incorrectly, did you?” Seeing the lion in such pain, Long Piaoying’s heart tightened suddenly as she asked.

”Let me check!”

With that said, Ye Haochuan’s already aching eyes flashed once more with golden light, allowing him to reconfirm the lion’s internal state.

”It’s fine. The speed of blood circulation inside its body has accelerated. It’ll give birth soon.”

Ye Haochuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. It appeared that all the needles he had inserted hit the right acupoints with no errors made in the rush.

To ensure the mother lion could deliver quickly, Ye Haochuan even transferred a considerable amount of Longevity Spirit Qi into her. Sustained exertion caused his clothing to become soaked with sweat.

”Look, the head is coming out!” Not long afterward, Long Piaoying exclaimed with joy.

Ye Haochuan turned to look and indeed saw a cub’s small head, about the size of a bowl, emerging.

”Keep pushing! You’re almost there!”

”Roar~”

The Purple Extreme Lightning Lion let out another long roar, seemingly expending all its strength. Thankfully, effort was not in vain—the cub was finally born successfully.

”Why does it feel like lions have an easy time giving birth? Not at all like women, who suffer so much they feel like they’re dying?” After tidying up the cub, Long Piaoying remarked emotionally.

”Speaking as if you’ve gone through it yourself—have you ever given birth?” Ye Haochuan teased.

”You brat! How dare you make fun of me? Do you want to die?” Long Piaoying retorted grumpily.

The mother lion, utterly spent, needed time to recover her strength. The task of caring for the little one fell to Ye Haochuan and Long Piaoying.

Long Piaoying, perhaps unexpectedly overwhelmed by maternal instincts, held the cub in her arms, unable to put it down.

The newborn cub, eyes still closed, seemed excited to be in its new environment and constantly wriggled its soft, tiny body, making Long Piaoying laugh uncontrollably.

In that moment, it almost felt as if they had forgotten the dangers surrounding them.

”How about we give it a name?” Long Piaoying suddenly suggested.

”Great idea!” After pondering for a moment, Ye Haochuan smiled and said, ”Since it was born in the Sub-Thunder Element Dimension Realm and it’s a Purple Extreme Lightning Lion, let’s call it Little Lei!”

”Not the most creative, but it’ll barely do! This little guy is pretty strong—it feels like it already has strength comparable to a Postnatal Late Stage cultivator.”

Long Piaoying’s offhand remark made Ye Haochuan inhale sharply.

Born at Postnatal Late Stage strength—how could it be so absurdly talented? This would make lifelong efforts of cultivators unable to break through to the Innate stage seem meaningless!

”They’re here!”

A voice at the worst possible moment abruptly shattered their warm scene.

These bastards really wouldn’t give up!

They had previously managed to shake off Hellfire’s people, but still, they managed to track them down.

”Run!”

Long Piaoying cried out in surprise, holding Little Lei tightly as she dashed forward.

With one wounded, and the other two weakened from childbirth, they couldn’t possibly stand a chance against Hellfire.

”Roar~”

Just as the group prepared to flee, the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion suddenly roared loudly, pouncing on one of Hellfire’s cultivators and biting off his head.

The cultivator only possessed Foundation Establishment Mid-Stage cultivation and was no match for the lion, dying on the spot.

However, by now, the other Hellfire members heard the commotion and began charging in their direction.

”Roar~”

The Purple Extreme Lightning Lion let out a long roar directed at Ye Haochuan, as though urging him to leave.

”No, we can’t abandon you!” Long Piaoying understood the lion’s intention but hesitated, feeling reluctant.

”Go!” At the critical moment, Ye Haochuan still managed to keep his composure.

In their current situation, only the lion had any hope of delaying Hellfire’s people. Ye Haochuan didn’t fear death; if he could stand against Hellfire and kept them at bay, his sacrifice wouldn’t matter.

But the truth was, with only Foundation Establishment Early Stage cultivation, even if he could barely match Foundation Establishment Late Stage in combat, he could never defeat Hellfire’s Foundation Establishment Peak cultivators.

He couldn’t do it. The severely injured Long Piaoying couldn’t do it. They had no choice but to leave!

”But...”

”Do not let down its intent. What we can do now is take its child and escape!” Ye Haochuan’s voice was cold, but the pain in his heart was palpable.

Long Piaoying knew Ye Haochuan was right. Despite the tears in her eyes, she clenched her teeth and departed using Sword Control.

”Beast, get out of my way!”

Ye Haochuan and Long Piaoying hadn’t gone far when loud shouts from Hellfire’s cultivators rang out.

”Roar~”

The lion responded directly, its furious roar filled with endless anger. But Ye Haochuan could tell—the roar carried faint signs of weakness.

A few minutes later, Ye Haochuan felt his connection with the Purple Extreme Lightning Lion abruptly cut off.

An acute pain pierced Ye Haochuan’s heart, his eyes red with streaks of blood.

Hellfire—I will make you pay for this!

Ye Haochuan screamed silently within himself, then forced his emotions under control and said to Long Piaoying, ”Hurry, they’re closing in again!”
