System Awakened: I Became the Mafia Kings' Obsession

Chapter 87: 87:Are you hiding something from me?

The next day

Nova woke up and sat on the bed, gently rubbing her forehead. ”I fell asleep quite fast last night,” she murmured.

Anah materialized in front of Nova, folding her arms. ”It’s already noon, go downstairs. I’m hungry,” she commented.

Nova raised an eyebrow and stared at her. ”Don’t you have legs?” she questioned, and stood up, walking to the dressing mirror to check her reflection.

”Your husbands will freak out if I just go there and start eating. I trust you don’t want that,” Anah replied.

Nova was silent, happily admiring her beauty. ”I’m so perfect,” she murmured, ignoring Anah as she went to the bathroom to freshen up.

After a short while, she was dressed in her uniform and went downstairs.

”Good morning! My husbands!” Nova shouted, seeing Raymond, Cassian, and Alan seated on the chairs in the living room, seeming to be having a serious conversation.

As soon as they heard Nova’s cheerful voice, they stared at her, and immediately, Alan rushed to her, pulling her into a tight hug and pressing a kiss on her lips.

”Snow, it’s already noon. Good afternoon,” Alan replied, giggling.

Nova smiled and rubbed her nose with her finger lightly. ”Good afternoon, my husbands,” she said.

Raymond and Cassian laughed, then they both walked toward her.

”Good afternoon, wifey. You must be hungry, right?” Raymond commented and lifted Nova in his arms, then walked to the dining table where the fresh food was already spread out.

He sat Nova on a chair and took her bowl, filling it with her favorites, then put it in front of her.

”Thank you.” Nova smiled warmly and took the spoon, then started eating calmly.

Raymond, Cassian, and Alan all occupied the seats close to Nova and watched her eat with gentle smiles on their faces.

”Darling, do you still want to go to school? How about you skip school today? I want to take you out,” Cassian commented, staring lovestruck at Nova.

Nova’s gaze fell on Cassian and she chuckled. ”I will just skip it today then,” she said.

”I will skip school too! I want to accompany Snow,” Alan commented immediately.

Nova paused and stared at Alan. ”No skipping,” she replied.

”But...”

”No buts. You are not skipping school. Exams are fast approaching, and most importantly, you are about to graduate. Skipping school will leave you with a bad record and affect your chances of being admitted to a university,” Nova reasoned, and continued eating.

Alan pouted, then stared at Nova with watery eyes, hoping to change her mind, but then Raymond spoke.

”Listen to wifey. You are still young, don’t develop a bad habit of skipping school,” he commented, trying not to laugh.

Alan glared at him, and then at Cassian, who was now reaching for the apple on the table with a proud smile on his face.

”Cassian suggested Snow skip school, he’s encouraging her not to study!” Alan commented angrily.

Cassian froze. ”I didn’t mean that, don’t make things up,” he commented in a hurry, pointing at Alan.

Nova sighed. ”I can take the final exam now and pass, that’s a hundred percent sure for me, but you...” she stared at Alan. ”You are weak in English, that alone will increase your chances of failure,” she explained.

Alan’s jaw dropped. ”I thought I hid it properly, How did Snow find out? Did I slip?” he thought.

”Oh... so you are weak in English! Perfect! Just perfect. Come here, pronounce ’apple’ for me in English, let me hear” Cassian chuckled mockingly.

Alan gritted his teeth together, trying to control his anger. ”I’m not that weak in English! Apple is not a big deal for me to pronounce!” he shouted angrily, pronouncing ’apple’ in fluent English.

”Sweetheart, I mentioned that he’s weak in English, not that he’s illiterate in English. Don’t get my baby angry,” Nova said, glaring at Cassian, and continued eating.

Cassian chuckled. ”I’m sorry, don’t mind me,” he replied, staring at Alan with a mocking smile still playing on his lips.

”Snow, look at him!” Alan reported, shaking Nova’s hand and moving closer to her, burying his head in her chest, faking a cry.

”Alright, alright, don’t mind him, okay?” Nova put down her empty bowl and gently patted his head.

Raymond stared at Nova and smiled warmly, then held her hand, pressing a kiss on her knuckles.

”When I came down earlier, I noticed you guys seemed to be having a serious conversation. Can I know what it was?” she asked, staring at Cassian and Raymond.

”Oh, Raymond is going on a mission out of the country. We are trying to get some pointers from his skills in cooking so that you won’t miss him while he’s away,” Cassian replied.

”That wasn’t why you said you wanted to learn from me. You said quite the opposite,” Raymond’s voice turned cold as he glared at Cassian.

Cassian smirked. ”Where’s the evidence?” he asked.

”You!” Raymond pointed at Cassian.

”Can you guys not argue, please?” Nova interrupted, sighing helplessly.

”He was the one seeking trouble,” Raymond reported.

”Snow, you see, I’m the only sensible one, but they always keep bullying me,” Alan cried against Nova’s chest, not forgetting to kiss her chest.

”How are you the sensible one? You are taking advantage of my wife there, and you have the nerve to say you are the sensible one,” Cassian commented, folding his arms.

”Snow!” Alan whined, being more clingy.

”Goodness,” Nova murmured and rubbed her forehead. ”Alright, back to the conversation,” she said, and stared at Raymond. ”How long will it take you?” she asked.

”I’m not sure,” Raymond replied and smiled reassuringly. ”This is my only chance to have real power and be able to stand by your side without being pressured,” he thought.

Nova’s brows knitted slightly. ”You shouldn’t go on a mission you aren’t sure of when you’ll come back from. It’s dangerous,” she said, her face mixed with different emotions.

Raymond could feel his heart warm. ”You are worried about me?” he asked, giggling nonstop.

”Obviously,” Nova replied, her gaze locked to his, her brows suddenly knitted together in suspicion. ”Hubby... are you hiding something from me?” she questioned.
