System Awakened: I Became the Mafia Kings' Obsession

..... Real Estate Company .....

”This villa is now yours,” Nova commented, giving the villa keys to Devin.

Devin stared at Nova, wanting to speak, but remained silent. A soft tension hung in the air between them as he nodded, taking the keys from her hand. ”Thank... thank you,” he said.

”Beautiful goddess, you bought us such a big house, you are so kind!” Suno said, giggling continuously.

Nova smiled lightly. ”You are still young, little one,” she commented. She reached into her bag and passed a black card to Devin. ”You can send him to school,” she said.

Devin stared at the card and smiled, though a proud, unyielding tension hardened his resolve. ”You have helped me a lot, you should keep the card. I will find a way to send my brother to school,” he replied.

Nova’s smile widened. ”Very well. Keep your life safe,” she replied, turning around to enter her car before the driver drove away.

Devin stared at the keys in his hand, a warm smile spreading across his face. ”I will surely keep my life safe and soar until I catch your attention,” he thought, his eyes flashing with raw determination.

”Brother, can I still see the beautiful goddess again?” Suno asked, staring up at Devin.

Devin smiled and picked him up. ”Sure, we will definitely see her again. But before that time, we should become very rich so that she will want us,” he replied.

”Great!” Suno laughed happily, and they both left.

..... Evening .....

”You are not that kind, Nova,” Anah commented.

Nova smiled, the ambient lighting of the car highlighting the cool, calculated tension in her expression. ”I invested in him. If he can’t become something to be proud of, I will personally end his life myself. But if it’s otherwise,” she chuckled, ”I will have to spare him a few glances. After all, he’s such a handsome guy,” she replied.

”Mhm,” Anah hummed. ”Edward is already at the club now,” she said.

”Time to turn their entire house into chaos.” Nova’s smile darkened with dangerous intent. She brought out her phone and sent text messages to her three husbands, informing them that she wouldn’t be coming home tonight. Then she dropped her phone onto the seat, her eyes flashing with deadly danger.

..... D-By Club .....

The hard bass beats vibrated through the floorboards, rocking the entire club as several men and women danced tirelessly under pulsing lights. On a large leather couch not far from the stage sat five men, drinking heavily as they watched the dancers swirling their hips.

Among the men was Edward, laughing as he kept gulping down alcohol.

”Let’s drink more! Let’s drink!” he shouted.

The remaining four men raised their cups, drinking with him. A rowdy, chaotic energy filled their corner of the VIP booth.

”Young Master, have you successfully won over the old men in the company? You seem quite happy tonight!” one of the men commented in a loud voice.

Edward laughed loudly. ”You guessed it right! Haha, now all the power is mine, haha!” He took another deep gulp.

”This indeed calls for a celebration! Tonight, no one is going home until we are all completely drunk, haha!” another man laughed.

Just as they were busy laughing, Nova entered. She was dressed in a shabby, oversized top and a fading long skirt that looked entirely mismatched. She wore ordinary-looking black-framed glasses, her long hair tied back in a messy bun.

Holding a tray filled with various glasses of wine in her visibly trembling hands, she looked completely innocent, fragile, and stunningly beautiful. She walked closer to their table, shivering as she looked up at each of them. The atmosphere at the couch instantly shifted, the rowdy laughter died down as a thick, predatory tension descended upon the group.

”This... this is the... the wine you... you or... ordered,” she stuttered, looking visibly nervous and terrified.

The five men’s gazes locked onto Nova, their eyes widening in shock. They were so instantly captivated by her breathtaking beauty that they completely ignored her chaotic dressing.

”Yo! The bar was hiding a gem, huh? Such a beauty! No one can ever match her in this world, I bet everything I have on it!” one of the men commented, staring at Nova with open greed in his eyes.

”No need to bet, it’s a fact! Such pure beauty. Young Master, did you order her?” another man asked, staring at Edward.

Edward stared at Nova, feeling his heart hammer wildly against his ribs. A sudden, breathless tension seized him. ”What is your name?” he asked.

Nova took a quick step back, her hands clenching the tray tightly until her knuckles turned white. ”They... they said I should just... just serve... you... you the... the w... wine,” she stuttered, her whole body trembling as if on the verge of collapse.

”Young Master, she’s a little stuttering beauty!” another man commented, and the other three men laughed loudly.

Nova stared at them, her eyes brimming with tears. ”I... I’m... not a... a... st-stutterer,” she said, her voice sounding choked as if she were desperately holding back her sob.

”Oh... the little beauty is about to cry... she’s about to cry, haha!” another man laughed.

Two hot tears escaped Nova’s eyes as she lowered her head, her grip tightening painfully against the metal tray she held.

Edward’s brows knitted tightly. Seeing Nova crying, he felt a sharp, agonizing ache in his chest. Just her tears alone were enough to send his heart wild. The tension in his chest tightened into a suffocating knot.

”Is... is this love at first sight?” he thought, glaring at the four men who were still laughing and making fun of her stutter.

”Enough!” he ordered in a cold tone, looking visibly annoyed. ”She’s just a little girl, why are you bullying her?” He cast a deadly, threatening glare at them, then stared back at Nova.

”It’s fine. Put down the tray,” Edward said, his eyes fixed softly on Nova.

Nova nodded timidly and set the tray on the table. Covering her eyes with her hands, she ran away, looking utterly heartbroken.

Edward reached out his hand to call her back, only to realize he didn’t even know her name. He could only sigh helplessly, taking another heavy gulp of alcohol.

”Boss, you are not interested in that little beauty, are you?” one of the men asked, staring at Edward.

”Yeah... I found my future wife,” Edward replied, a soft smile appearing as he kept staring in the direction Nova had run, even though she was no longer in sight.

”This... this is heartbreaking. I liked her already, but since the Young Master wants her, there’s nothing I can do.”

”Yeah... me too. That little beauty is damn hot.”

Edward whipped around and glared at them with a suffocating glare that instantly froze the room. ”I am serious this time. I really want to marry her. None of you should have any stupid ideas about her, or else...” He glared at them.

”We are just kidding, Young Master! We dare not eye what is yours, we are just joking!” the men immediately laughed off awkwardly, quickly drinking to calm the tensed atmosphere.
